Everyone raves about the pad Thai, our spicy dishes that are truly hot, and our create-your-own stir-fry–and for good reason. Every element adds up to big taste and takes our food to another level, be it a fresh squeeze of lime, fragrant herbs or the seared Thai chilies.
Big Bowl is so big on authentic flavors that even the ginger ale is made with fresh ginger root–from scratch, of course.
The food is excellent, but the Air conditioning was out.
Stir Fry bar is always a hit! But AC could not keep up with outside temps 100 so very uncomfortable inside even once sun was down,
they had fans on but still a sweaty experience. Lighting was also very dark- couldnt see the menu
My food and drink was great!
The food was very good, better than a PF Chang's. Food came out very fast as well. If you are going to order the stir fry and a off the menu entree, make sure you time it correctly. Work with your server on the timing....easy to do.
Everything was outstanding! Milton was an excellent server and the food was fresh and delicious as always!!
We had a wonderful time with friends who came from Georgia to dine with us at Big Bowl. It's their favorite restaurant! We love it because there is something for everyone, including the 'build your own' bowls. The staff doesn't rush you before or after you've dined. It's the perfect place to gather!
I have booked the table and was told i was not booked.allocated me a table near bar where as i booked 1 week ago
The food and service remains first-rate. However, prices on the wine list continue to climb. We decided to not order a bottle due to this.
Quiet Monday afternoon lunch. Enjoyed the Crab Rangoon
Appetizer and create your own bowl entree. Everything was fresh and delicious. Has become one of our favorite eateries.
As always Big Bowl was a great experience, great food and service.
Good service, nice ambiance, good food. Too much rice and not enough actual main dish food on the plate, so not a good enough value.
Great food & service all around. The food was a little bit spicy but otherwise very good.
First time at big bowl and I really enjoyed it! I ordered the Thai hot pepper with chicken and cauliflower rice and that was delicious! For appetizer we ordered the spicy green beans and they were on point! The lettuce wraps were good too!
Will definitely go back!
June 5th. Poor service
Ginger sodas we're good. Beef and broccoli was sort of bland.
Food is decent but thought the service was lacking. Almost impossible to get ice water. They would only serve warm water. Had to constantly ask for ice. Server was not the greatest. Expected more from this restaurant.
Great meal and service. We had two parties of 9 and were accommodated.
Excellent food & service all around. Plus adding in the "Lettuce Entertain You," points makes the experience even better.
We entered through the back door and checked in. We asked for a seat in the bar dining area and were told that we'd have to wait for a table to clear, which we were fine with. Once a table opened up, we sat ourselves. The 2 hostesses seemed too busy to seat us with a menu. After at least 5 minutes of waiting, I had to go ask for the menus and then ask if the bartender would be our server. They remained "anchored" to the front podium after handing menus to me and confirming that the bartender would serve us. The bartender appeared busy with the business in the bar area, but did come around and eventually took our order. The food from the stir fry bar was delicious. After a slow start, the bartender was attentive, even with covering multiple tables. We really enjoyed the food, but didn't care for the apparent lack of concern from the hostesses, which got us off to a bad start. This unfortunately set the tone for our dining experience - it was pretty disappointing.
We had wonderful time as always. Good food and good service.
Bad food. We ordered the same things we always ordered.. garlic fried rice had no taste of garlic.. bland. Asked waiter for spicy entree and everything was bland and lacked salt/ seasoning. Ate very little and dumped the leftovers
Our waitress did a marvelous job! She managed several large parties - probably more than what she should have been serving.
Order was a tad sour but tolerable. No great shakes.. Ambiance and service was great.
Claims to serve both Chinese and Thai food and does neither... distinct whiff of supermarket sauce about the food served. Decent staff, service typical of the US.
Good food, good service and nice location. A good variety of menu options that satisfy both the vegetarian and non vegetarian members of our family. Nothing to complain about. Their vegetarian dumplings are fantastic.
Had a great lunch. Everything was fresh and delicious. When making up our bowl we had beautiful fresh vegetables to choose from. After 2:00 it was quiet and had a nice atmosphere. Server was attentive and helpful. Will definitely be back!
Food was fine as opposed to super whenever we come here. But Four stars are because of the server's attitude. It was our wedding anniversary dinner and we brought in a guest also. When the server brought the bill, the guest quickly paid cash and I wish the server had listened to me to charge the credit card and not accept the cash from him. But she was very adamant and denied charging the card.
Took my mom to dinner before her flight and she had a great time and really enjoyed the Panang Chicken
My wife and I LOVE Big Bowl. Their ingredients are all fresh and they offer a wide variety of dishes to choose from. Two weeks ago, we had guests that are vegetarians - and they had lots of choices. The entrees are huge, so take it easy on the appetizers. Also, try the different flavors of ginger ale !
Service much better than last time. Seated immediately. Food very good. Dessert awesome as usual!
I always love the Thai Hot Peppers dish. My friend had the chef's choice stirfry. We both loved our dinner meals.
Big Bowl has excellent faire and service. Its good every time.
Food and service are okay; I hate the front host/hostess experience; they always look miserable.
Solid experience. Service was pleasant and attentive, and I really appreciated our server pointing out that my dish had fish sauce in it since I had been ordering all veggies.
Food: Garden rolls with dipping sauces were very yummy. Fresh ginger ale was refreshing. Veggie pad thai was fine but not great and a rather small portion. My colleague's sesame chicken looked amazing, and she seemed to really enjoy it. Points for offering a tasty and gluten free dessert - we got the chocolate cake. I would come back for the garden rolls and dessert. Next time I would try a curry or a stir fry.
The place, ambiance was good. Online reservation was great. Without talking to anyone. Food was great
Consistently excellent in all respects. Some of the best pan-Asian food in the whole Washington metro area
Always a good experience. Server was attentive. Love the stir fry option where we can load up in our favorite veggies and omit the ones we don’t care for!
I like the food and visit this restaurant often however last Saturday was too crowded with the kids in private room
Big Bowl remains a must-dine when I'm in Reston. Food and staff remain outstanding, the menu carries old favorites, along with new and interesting choices that make for tough decisions on my too-infrequent visits. The only negative that comes to mind is the wine list continues to suffer from price creep. Otherwise, it's still one of my favorite places...
The food tasted like it was reheated meat- Ana was super bland.
The staff was cleaning and sweeping around our table as we were eating preparing to leave for the night- such a turn off.
The waiter was ok but mess the original order up and we ordered soup which was gross but we had no more energy to complains so we paid and left.
