STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! I hadn’t been in years so we decided to try it for Mother’s Day. The food and drinks were terrible! Margaritas was so sweet and warm, Lukewarm salads, chopped up oysters … shells all in the oyster itself, the waiter had no idea what brine means in relation to oysters and ordering, the spicy tuna roll and Tuna Poke could not be eaten. Seriously, thought we might get sick from the food. 80% of the food was left untouched. I cannot believe this place is still open.

If you are a lover of seafood this fine dining establishment is a solid choice. Nothing raise the roof worthy but will get the job done. We came for the Red snapper, but unfortunately it was sold out :( Nonetheless the seabass was muah! Perfection and the chef’s special grouper was beautifully plated. Oh babyyyy the bread and butter!! Top 10 house breads by a landslide. Places to improve: - The decor was confusing, not sure what vibe they we’re channeling but it needs some fine tuning for sure to have the cozy romantic vibe instead this nautical looking theme with a oversized disco sign - The servicer was friendly but not intuitive if that makes sense. Better training for the servers will bring this place from a solid 3.5 to a 4.25 - Their pineapple upside cake flambé was delicious but only with a side of a la mode! That should be included with this fine dessert. Also the presentation was good but again not wow which it could easily be. - More wow sides! The sides were just okay which was such a missed opportunity. A corn or even mushroom option would make this section complete. This place has so much potential to be at a Eddie V’s (4.5) status so keep up the good work! See you again for that snapper! Don’t run out next time 😅

Being a resident of the Dr Phillips area my family and I have been to Big Fin many times. Prior to 2023 each experience was close to 5 out of 5 each time. Staff was professional, very accommodating to very minor adjustments, and the food was impeccable. A culinary dream come true. Made a reservation for Friday, 4/28 at 7:15. I guess the first thing that I should have noticed was the restaurant wasn’t even a quarter of the way full. Then a bunch of no we can’t do that, we have a new menu now, it’s premade, responses from our waiter was not what I was expecting. Ok. New menu, new chef, I’ll roll with it. Oysters arrive, no hot sauce, no crackers, even though I asked for when ordering. Takes a couple of requests to get that. Entrees arrive, and the George’s Bay scallops, were really plain. Their signature item, the Swordfish Experience, something I have ordered many times, was really fishy tasting and smelling. It’s simple, really fresh fish does not smell or taste fishy at all. I guess it’s also the little things that used to impress me. Making sure the table stayed clean, dinnerware and glassware removed, the table swept for crumbs. Fresh silverware, not happening at all. Really disappointed. Sad to say we probably won’t be back.

Food was excellent! Service started out excellent, but as restaurant became busier, we sort of started to fall through the cracks. They didn’t really hold to the dress code they put on their website…too many shorts/tanks/flip flops….pants down low. So I’m glad we had an early evening and could go home. Also, we were there for our anniversary and nothing special was done for that. I felt a bit cheated. Restaurant is beautiful and very comfortable. Would probably visit again during the afternoon and sit at the outside bar.

The food was horrible and overpriced. The crab cake was overcooked and not tasty. The fried snapper was fried too hard and not seasoned at all. Asparagus were over cooked. It was too cold in the dining room. I will not be returning.

Great service. Loved the lychee martini. Fish was fabulous. Husband had a fish soup n I had an heirloom salad with a sizeable scallop appetizer. Our waiter was terrific. We will definitely go again.

Had reservations for the patio. Seated promptly, not too busy inside or out. Waitress was knowledgeable, friendly and upbeat. Liked her very much. Went for the stone crabs, 3 jumbo stone crabs were $140, market rate. They were good and worth the visit. Good food as always, would recommend.

My niece and kidney donor was in town for her 1 yr checkup at Advent so we took her out for Easter Dinner (she lives in West Palm). Our server was on point and provided excellent service from start to finish. Water was always topped off and timely refills of other beverages (which came out quickly). All our appetizers and meals were hot and delicious. They all came out together and no big wait between courses. Prices were reasonable too which is a surprise for a restaurant of this caliber. Not our first time here, Big Fin is a solid value.

Overpriced for what is served vs how food is described on the menu. I chewed into what I thought was a piece of calamari...turned out to be battered and fried plastic. The server stated the charge would be removed, but it was not. I became ill overnight... No one else in my group became ill but I was the only one to eat the calamari. I could share more bad news about this experience but I'll stop here. I do not recommend this place.

Grouper was recently removed off menu. Weeks after making reservation and coming from Ohio. The daily special happen to be grouper. Though dish had certain items not to my liking. I made a special request and the chef obliged. It was the best meal I have had there and out in a vey long time. So I thank the chef!
