Big Rock never let’s us down. The food is always delicious, the service is prompt and sitting outside on their patio is very enjoyable. All of these things keep us coming back. Highly recommend this restaurant.
We had dinner at Big Rock to celebrate my birthday. The food was very good as usual. Our service was phenomenal with Mitchell as our server. He is very knowledgeable, fun, friendly and accommodating. He helped to make our experience special.
We frequent Big Rock because it is always consistent with great food and service. We enjoy the friendly attentive staff just as much as we do the delicious food. This is hands down one of our favorite, if not THE favorite restaurant of ours because of these reasons.
Our waiter Phil was excellent. He was very accommodating and was very knowledgeable about the wine options.
Awesome food and drink. We chose small plates this time. Dave is an AWESOME waiter! Definitely one of our go to restaurants.
We've had great experiences in the past, when Gabby Milton was Exec Chef. Our most recent experience was disappointing. Very poor service from Beverly (not trained well), the Caesar was over-dressed and the rib-eye entree was fatty and grizzly. Not what we were expecting. :(
My husband and I booked online to make this dinner special for his birthday.
The sever was trying to push drinks and food on us from the moment we sat down. My husband asked for the draft list, and the waiter handed it back on the page with special drinks, which were like 18-20 dollars. The next page was the draft list. He later asked; “you want another beer right?”. Since it was my husband’s birthday, he said “I’ll see what I can do about the dessert”. I ordered the coconut cream pie. He remarked “good”, and later on did not take it off the bill. We asked why he didnt, he said he could have only the cheesecake, but made no indication of this at the time. So he did nothing about the difference, so we were charged the full price for the dessert.
Was overcharged for drinks - when I questioned the waitress about it she said that the normal drink is a single, so she made it a double (without asking) and then charged us double for it. My fiancé had a Manhattan and a old fashion. There was a Manhattan ($7) makers mark ($10) and double makers mark ($25) on the rocks on the bill. She had taken the manhattan off the bill, and charged us for a makers mark ($10) and a double makers mark ($25) on the rocks.
Wonderful food and attentive service from Todd.
Calamari was fake sticks, margarita from a cheap mix, and the natural chicken tasted like Frankenmuth. Would be fair for a cheap restaurant, and unacceptable at this price point.
Cool place for happy hour - service was a little slow but bearable. Waiter did not turn in my reservation but I called Open Table and rep was nice enough to credit my account and give me extra points!!!
Our server, Dorothy, made our anniversary evening spectacular; her service made us feel like celebrities! Our tenderloins, accompanied with their world famous zip sauce, were magnificent. A huge "THANKS" to the manager for the spectacular dessert!
This was our third visit, and it gets better and better. Very friendly staff, great food and wonderful ambiance. We couldn’t ask for more.
The food here is very delicious. Have never been let down so it keeps us coming back.
We really enjoyed our waiter, Kevin. Food was great. Atmosphere was wonderful. Steaks were delicious as were the salads and sides! Can’t wait to return our next time in Detroit.
Taken straight from my Yelp review:
"THE BEST FRENCH ONION SOUP I HAVE EVER HAD!!! So good-layers of flavor. It was the most full-bodied broth I have tasted and the cheese was fantastic. That was what my wife ordered in addition to a burger. I had the Caesar salad, which had freshly chopped romaine, a delicious Caesar dressing, a crunchy piece of bread, and some cheese-typical for a Caesar salad. There were also some dipping items for the bread, but I have no idea what they were. The dipping items were delicious and I think one of them was caramelized onions. The salad was good, but it was huge. I should have asked for a side Caesar if that was an option. I had their burger too, which was nice and juicy, but it was over-done. I ordered it medium and it was cooked medium well, but it still had great flavor. It came with truffle fries too, which were fantastic. The burger was delicious, but for $20 I would have expected one of the best burgers I have ever had. It was an expensive dinner.
They brought some bread to the table too and it was served with a cheesy butter dipping sauce that had pesto on it, I believe. That was extremely addictive and delicious. So, all and all, the food was good, but the service is the main reason why I gave five stars instead of four. Our waiter and I have the same first name, so I knew things would go well. He was friendly, warm, informative, relate-able, and fun. He made us feel right at home."
Excellent meal and great service! A little noisy for a special occasion celebration, but a lovely experience.
Diasapointing : (. Our server was nice but had not tried a single wine or food item we asked about. There was an issue finding the bottle of wine we ordered so that took way too long and in general service was slow. That would have all been forgotten if our meal was amazing but it was just average. Our steaks were over cooked and so was my sea bass. The vegetables were fresh and cook perfectly.
Tale of two dining rooms. We were seated back in the banquet hall. Ask to be seated in the main area. Service ok. Food pretty good.
We have been here several times
The service was good the appetizers very good however the main course and a Caesar salad wasn’t what we had expected. Given our prior history we will return However given the most recent experience it will probably be a while
A very pleasant atmosphere on the inside patio, very high food quality, excellent side sauces and a multigrain bread to die for. Very good service making it a place to return to for dinner.
Sat outside. Great patio.
Good service. A little slow though. Very nice people! We will be back.
Good food, good service, and great ambiance. Great for special occasions.
waiter was pretty bland and seemed rude but the food was amazing
We had a lovely time. The service was outstanding - simply outstanding.
Our food selection was counseled by courteous and efficient Dorothy. Ambiance flavored the opportunity to share life stories with nephew and his wife visiting from Chicago.
Thanks for all you do to make enjoyable encounters possible.
Great birthday - Eric’s Birthday Cake
Dave was an awesome waiter. Great, genuinely personal service and great menu suggestions. Will come back again and hope Dave is our server!
Everything was great Todd our server was excellent.
Excellent!! Steak bites are unbelievable!!
Good food and good service. However after about 9:30 PM the tables filled up with a twentysomething crowd who were drinking excessively and very boisterous. The women’s bathroom had one stall that was in operable due to a customer leaving behind in appropriate waste products. No staff seemed to be phased by this occurrence.
Excellent as always!
Our waitress Dorothy was outstanding!!! 💗
Also we absolutely loved the kid-friendliness at the restaurant!!!
We’ll be back soon!!! 😊
We had a great time, the server and the food were awesome.
Very Good Selection & Great Food. Perfect for Business Lunch, Dinner or Date Night.
Great meal great waiter
Big Rock Chop House was amazing. From the food, the service and atmosphere, this restaurant was a wonderful choice and will be returning very soon.
Food was amazing!!! I had the short ribs and the mash potatoes was simply wonderful. Eat slowly and savor every bite!!!!
Very good food. Our waiter Mitchell was amazing. Only complaint is the dessert menu seemed outdated and Fall themed
Throughly enjoyed our meal. Dorothy was beyond wonderful!
