Big Rock Chophouse is the proud recipient of the prestigious American Culinary Federation’s 2014 Achievement of Excellence Award, an honor that was previously awarded to only three other Michigan restaurants before that year. Big Rock Chop House Ratings and Reviews
My wife and I enjoyed “date night” at Big Rock. The food, wine and service was great as always. Kevin, our waiter, was as helpful and humorous as always!
Great! No complaints
Food quality is not competitive with other steakhouses in the area. We ordered a total of 5 dishes and three were not very flavorful.
We were terribly disappointed in the service/waitress. The food was wonderful though.
Every year after Christmas just the family go out for a nice dinner. This year we went to the Big Rock and we couldn't have been happier. The food, service, and atmosphere was excellent! Highly recommend for a wonderful evening out.
I love Big Rock! Fun atmosphere, great food, awesome happy hour value! Only down side is no easy way to park without using the valet :(
Loved the food and everything
My wife and friends of ours enjoyed a delicious meal with great service (Kevin) and a fun conversation!
Decent steak and very fair drink prices but better suited for a rowdy middlebrow night than as an indulgence for a special occasion. If you set your expectations accordingly, you won't be disappointed. If you are looking for an intimate upscale dining experience, look elsewhere.
Very nice mea. Attentive waitress especially during holiday season. She never was out of reach.
I really enjoy our experience at the Big Rock. Excellent service from the time we walked in until the time we left. Our waiter Joshua was very professional and very attentive to our every need. Thank you for making my birthday celebration a memorable one. I would definitely recommend and will definitely return to the Big Rock!
I ordered a filet..it went back twice bleeding...didn’t have dinner that night.
This was my first time dining at Big Rock, Great Place!!
Great spot to talk And conduct business!
Great atmosphere along with great food
Always a great spot to bring friends from out of town - unique place and great food
Food was good service good but pricey for what we got
We arrived one and a half hours early and we were accommodated. Attentive Service, Fairly Priced wine list. A genuine dining destination not a wannabe like so many in the ‘new dining scene ‘
Love Big Rock! I was disappointed that those delicious rolls have been replaced by an odd loaf of bread; and once again, my steak had to be sent back because it was raw. So strange! Never the less, I will be back for more. Love the ambience, the service, and the coconut cream pie was to die for!
Consistently awesome food and amazing service! Mitchell (we always ask to be in his section) is the best ... so friendly and just makes you feel very special!
The small plates menú petite filet was cooked perfectly but the red wine sauce was just okay. It came with mashed potatoes and 3 spears of asparagus which were good. The entree steaks are totally a la carte & come with nothing but a garnish of 3 onion rings or onion straws on the plate. The small plate pasta bolognese was okay. Reasonable portion for a small plate. The Caesar salad was great. The garlic chutney garnish was delicious. The prices were high. The bread was stale and not worth eating. When I told the server, she said it is supposed to be dry and stale texture on the cut sides.
Big Rock never disappoints. The food was fantastic we usually get a chance to speak with Chef . Kevin is top notch and always make our dining experience enjoyable.
service was excellent as well as dinner would recommend to any one wanting a great meal
The Desserts were fabulous! Butternut squash soup was a hit but a bit sweet to one of us. Fishermen's appetizer was terrific, big shrimp and the pickled onions on the plate really were nice. Gnocchi was a great seasonal take, but can't rave about the prime rib grilled cheese.
Food let us down again. How can a steakhouse mess up a steak repeatedly? Ask the chef. Sad.
I haven't been there in some time, but I just put it back as a regular stop.
THE SOUP AND THE SAUCE FOR THE STEAK WAS VERY SALTY OTHER THAN THAT IT WAS GREAT.
Great atmosphere and food! Recommend making a reservation.
Ok for work and formal
Overall the place is beautiful! Love the spot. Valet was great! Greeted and seated promptly. The drinks were very good. My ceaser salad was excellent! Just enough dressing. The waiter seemed a little distant. Didn’t explain things well, kind of matter of fact. The real problem came when we waited 45 minutes for our food. When it was finally served no we apologize for the wait. The worst part is my food was warm and by the time I started getting into my meal it was lukewarm to cold. My dates food was extremely hot to the touch. The saving grace for the night was the cigar bar!
Reserved the side room for 10 people to attend a special get together. Room was enclosed so we could hear some of the jazz music playing but more than quiet enough for discussions around the table. Also had a dedicated server who was wonderfully attentive and knowledgeable about the menu and specialty drink options (try the Maverick). Everyone had a very enjoyable evening.
I let them seat us next to service bar...big mistake. Noizy & not good for ambiance. Pricy but 'almost' worth it.
Our experience was exceptional and I would highly recommend the big rock for any location. Vera, the manager, was wonderful!
My daughters meal was absolutely horrible.
Ours were awesome.
I chose BRCH for my birthday lunch. We had a group of 4 and sat outside which was extremely pleasant with a nice ambiance. Our server was friendly, efficient and knowledgeable about the menu. I had the petit filet and it was perfect. The others had sandwiches (short rib and French dip) and we were all very pleased with our choices. Excellent experience all around!
Great place for a great meal and good pricing considering the areas options.
We had a great time on our Anniversary. Our waitress was excellent and the food was great.
Excellent food and drinks, and even better service! Perfect as always!
We eat at Big Rock a lot. We know and enjoy most of the menu items. This time we were particularly impressed by our waiter, Joshua. He was excellent. He knew the menu items including the specials and could make informed recommendations. Most importantly, he did not make himself out to be a pest as some of the older waiters have. He was available to answer our questions and take our request when we needed him to be. He did not over extend himself with unrequested conversation. We liked him a lot.
While the food was OK, the server left us to our own devices to keep out glasses full after decanting the Opus One. The main course was served long before table appetizers were consumed. Surprisingly unsophisticated service. There are too many good options locally to re-visit this restaurant.
