   We were so very saddened to hear that Bishop’s is closing. It has been our favourite restaurant since John opened in 1985. His impact on the dining scene in Vancouver, and everyone involved in the industry, is immeasurable. The staff, current and past, have always been exceptional. Our last night was a bittersweet experience. Of course, the food and service were excellent, as usual, and John was the consummate host. It was difficult to say goodbye, so we didn’t. It’s just until next time, somewhere…

   Took my sister for a birthday dinner and everything was delicious. She has many complicated allergies and the chef was patient and accommodating to find solutions. The wine recommendation was delicious and a few other birthdays added to the celebration. Sure hope they can stay open in 2022 as I'd like to become a regular!

    It was a wonderful birthday celebration with my three sisters. From the time we arrived we were greeted warmly and throughout the evening the staff was amazing. Yes, Bishop’s is expensive but the service is top notch, the food delicious and the “Bishop Team”, clearly love what they do. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a special night out. You won’t be disappointed.

    The rack of lamb was nothing short of outstanding! The dessert was a banana flambe, not listed on the menu, was simply to die for! Value for my money though left me wanting for more...

    It was a fantastic experience for my birthday. Mr. Bishop came talked to us, felt like chat with a long time friend. The whole crew was nice. How they timed their food was outstanding. At the end, before we leaving, Mr. Bishop even gave me a rose for my birthday gift ☺️Such an unforgettable night.

    The service is reliably charming and professional, and the food is just as consistently prepared to perfection — for the eyes AND the palate. This time we enjoyed a shot of wonderful chilled Thai soup (amuse-bouche), succulent oysters on the half shell, sockeye salmon and dungeness crab cakes, grilled plum salad, ahi tuna tartare, wild mushroom and truffle risotto, Spanish octopus on humus, pan-roasted sable fish, dry aged duck breast, venison strip loin, and the rack of lamb. Finished with creme brûlée and basque cheesecake. The evening could not have been more extraordinary.

    For 30 years now, this has been where we have gone when we need to be spoiled. Never have John, Abel and the team at Bishop's let us down. Just the right wine with always impeccable food. A guarantee of at least one, "I would have never thought to have served that with that" moment. It used to be me impressing my girlfriend, who then became my wife, a mother, and next it was a table for our family. Last night we had the honour of the company of our daughter, her boyfriend, and her best friend. To watch our daughter introduce them to a 2+ hour to experience of dinner reminded me of her first visit 12 years ago. Some things become part of the family and Bishop's is definitely (and will always be) a constant for us forever. Thank you to John's wife who did not like the test drive of him retiring and gifted to us all at least another full year of perfection.

    I’ve always had a great dining experience at Bishops over 25 years of dining there. Had the best Sable fish dish ever last night. The food was perfectly balanced and I we always look forward to chatting with John when he comes around each table.The service was first class and the Basque style cheesecake we had was the perfect ending to a great meal! One of the best restaurants in Vancouver if not the best!!

    Excellent food and service in a cozy atmosphere. We were greeted warmly at the door and sent off personally at the end of the night, which was a lovely touch. It was my birthday and they even brought out a candle and some sweets to enjoy. An overall lovely experience! Worth a visit time and time again.

    This was our first trip to Vancouver and this restaurant was recommended to us by our hotel server at the Pinnacle. John Bishop and his staff were outstanding, our wine and water glasses were never empty. They made us feel like we were the only ones in the restaurant. Very romantic setting, food was amazing. We will definitely return to Bishops later this year when we visit Vancouver again. Thank you John for making us feel like family!

    Everything was superb. Duck beautifully prepared. Ratatouilles was a lovely companion. Cheese plate to close the meal was delicately balanced with condiments. We enjoyed a port and late harvest Quails Gate Riesling to go with the dessert. Service was seamless and courteous. We got expert help from the sommelier. The ambience was ideal for a quiet meal and intimate conversation.

    We had another delicious meal at Bishop’s with John Bishop himself visiting us several times during the evening, which made our anniversary dinner particularly special! Excellent venison and duck dishes preceded by oysters and sparkling wine unfollowed with a vanilla crème brûlée dessert - all wonderful!
