this is one of my faVORITES RESTAURANTS great food wonderful service and close to home the management goes out of its way to make this a special event i willbe back often
Food and service was very good. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Great food, great service, great value! Def go there again !
Went for a nice dinner before my girlfriend started back teaching this year. Food was fantastic and we both remarked it had been one of our best meals in quite some time. It's on the pricier side and wine list is expensive too with not many cheaper options but that being said they seem to be aiming higher end and the food and service delivered. We had a great night, would recommend if you're looking for a fancy night out.
Server needed to be more friendly and happy
While the food was excellent, the service we received on this visit was terrible. I recognize that people can have off days but we were very unimpressed and likely won't return because of this.
My wife and I love this restaurant. We have been many times, and will be back many times as well.
We were greeted by a very nice man,who showed us to our table shortly after the waiter came withe the menus, ordered drinks and an order of escargot....the escargot was salty and when I complained to the waiter,I was told that the chef puts it on a bed of salt for decoration and then walked away...when we got our food, everything tasted salty...the waiter never came and asked us how are food was...this was suppose to be a special occasion and I have never been treated so badly
Great food & a nice wine selection. Ambience is both nice and cozy, perfect for a date night or special occassion and also open and welcoming which is great for large groups. Food was delightful and the servers where very pleasant and attentive. Would definitely recommend.
It was a delight!
Great date night! The food, wine ambience and service was excellent. Loved the white table clothes.
Being from out of Edmonton, we had never been here before. We were actually just passing by the area. Food was great and the staff very personable and pleasant. We would definitely go out if our way to eat here again.
Food was fantastic, beautiful restaurant, can't say a bad thing at all :)
Seemed to be little staff on duty
Food took forever even though restaurant less than half full
Arctic Char tasted fishy maybe old
Salad was low quality
For price there are much better restaurants for this type of food
A real gem I’m South Edmonton. Our male waitwhile adequate certainly didn’t add anything extra or special to the evening. The last time we were at Bistecca, our female server was outstanding.
As always, food is very good but service is usually only adequate. Consistently have to ask for bread and water as otherwise you won't receive at all even with ordering full dinner with three or four courses plus drinks.
From the welcome when we arrived to the door being held open after supper, everything was superb. Food was absolutely delicious. Steaks done perfectly. Our server, Chetam, provided the best service we have had since coming to Edmonton. This will be our "go to" restaurant. Highly recommend.
We were there for early supper (530pm). Bread and oil brought to table with drinks. Nice warm bread. Ordered mussels and asked for more bread for sauce. Mussels were tasty, wonderful sauce. Had to ask for bread again as they were baking new batch (restaurant was empty). Appetizer was amazing. Ordered seafood linguini and spaghetti bolognaise. Pasta dishes were hot and well cooked, a little bland though - not awful but not special. We were early so there was a lacking atmosphere. We were asked a total of 5 times how our food was, server and manager. Nice to check in but a little too much. Probably because it wasn't busy. Good location, good beer and friendly service, just not blown away.
I thought that informing them that we were there for our 25th wedding anniversary that they would be a little more accommodating or would make it a bit more special for us. It was blah 😔
Funny how the table across from us even got a visit from the chef and got a special drink with sparklers and all. I was disappointed.
Was way beyond our expectations. The waitress was wonderful, the food delicious and the patio was cozy and inviting with lots of greenery.
While the menu looked promising, the experience was less than ideal. We had a server in training - which I can totally understand as a food and beverage manager myself. However, she didn't get much help despite us being told 2 people would be serving us together. We ordered more bread and it never came. Our entrees had clearly sat under the heat lamp too long as the buerre blanc sauce on the steak had spoiled before they arrived - the steaks were also all overcooked (more medium than medium rare as they were barely pink at all). After eating here, and having different plates and ordering different dishes, 3 of us had upset stomachs. The only thing we shared was the bread with olive oil/garlic which could have been rancid... but we did not have a great night following dinner. The food was overpriced for the experience given.
Was taken there for Father’s Day. My daughter had the kids pene pasta and she loved it. My wife had the smoked cheese ravioli and it was good and my son and I had steaks. They where cooked perfectly. Very friendly staff
We had the grilled calamari and smoked salmon for appetizers. I found the calamari to be a little spicy, but more concerning was that it was too chewy which good calamari shouldn't be. However, the smoked salmon was very nice ----- very tasty. Our main dishes were the house made bison cannelloni and the stuffed chicken breast, which were very good. I did find the options for wine (by the glass) to be a little thin with little choice in any of the wine categories (i.e. chardonnay, etc. ). Overall, we would certainly go again.
Experience was amazing , we went for early dinner, had an amazing private table , the waitress was helpful and attentive. All staff interaction was pleasant
Great meal and atmosphere! We will be back :)
Service was excellent. Food wonderful. Highly recommend.
Our server was very polished and it was nice for Stefan to chat with us on a couple of occasions.
Suggestion for glass of wine was exceptional- food was very good- steak perfect as per requests. Server extremely professional and service provided was unmatched.
Every experience at Bistecca is consistently a wonderful dining experience.
first rate great service wonderful cooking one of my favrites
From the impeccable service to the excellent food to the nights finishing of flaming crepes Suzette everything was wonderful. We’d go there again.
We went to Bistecca for our 4th Anniversary and it was some of the best food I have ever had. It is pricy but totally worth it. The Calamari is AMAZING to say the least. Will definitely be back!
Enjoyed our evening! Lovely place to celebrate our wedding anniversary!
Heard good things about Bistecca before when I finally made it there to eat I wa disappointed that I have waited for so long. What a place! Phenomenal food, seriously could be my new favorite steak house.
Highly recommended. Have been several times and am never disappointed. Always treated well by all of the staff and the food is very good. The short rib ravioli is one of my favourites. The atmosphere is cozy for a friend get together and/or romantic if that's the occasion.
We like Bistecca. It is a natural choice for dinner out alone or with friends or for special occasions, and it is nearby for us. Gluten-free meals are handled well. The restaurant has well-trained and pleasant staff.
best ravioli I think I've ever had; excellent bison ribeye; even olive oil with bread was a win
Food was amazing, we were there celebrating a very special occasion, however our server seemed very disinterested in being our waitress. She immediately asked us to put in our order as she had a “19 top” getting seated and wanted our order in first. No hello, no how are you and then seemed annoyed that we wanted to start with wine and appetizers. Our salad and meal came out simulateously. Very inattentive to us in general in what appeared to be a 1/2 empty restaurant. We were a table of 8 and spent nearly $500. Although the food was great, the service really put a damper on a very special occasion. That being said, she wouldn’t have known we were celebrating as she was not interested enough to ask much at all. Overall, Bistecca needs to ensure they actually hire servers that want to be at work, she clearly did not!
Brought a friend who had never been. We had some appies and both had the veal scalopinni (which is what I always have) and it was delicious. as usually. My friend thought so as well and cleaned her plate. Absolutely scrumptious
Deadly food as usual. Service was beyond fantastic and she gets the difference between keeping up with the customers needs and not being annoying. Will be back for our 5th time soon
