We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Bistro 67. Everything was perfect. We wanted to have a leasurely dinner and the service was attentive without being pushy.
Everything was very nice from the décor to the staff working there, however I was not impressed with the length of time we waited for our lunch. We were a table of 9, but it took over 35 min from the time our orders were taken until we got any food. Especially being over a lunch time when it was mostly soup and salads. Their Butternut squash soup is excellent.
If you are looking to treat yourself and your company to a gourmet dinner than I highly recommend the Bistro. The Ontario house red wine was a good start. We had the Brussel Sprouts as an appetizer and the serving was very generous for 2 and so delicious. My friend had the duck that he so enjoyed and I had the arugula salad with steak flank. We could not eat it all so we took the extra food with us. They also served me the most delicious complimentary brownie cake for my birthday. The coffee was dark and smooth the way we love it.
Fresh and delicious food as always, great spot for a date night.
The restaurant experience was good, from the welcome we received once we arrived, to the server and front of house manager who checked in with us to make sure that everything was to our liking. My dining companion has gluten allergies and the servers acknowledged this and accommodated as well, including offering suggestions for dessert that was gluten free.
Only drawback, was the moving of supplies inside the restaurant next to the tables. My suggestion is that a separate entrance be used for moving items from section of the kitchen to the next.
It was outstanding but was a little pricey. We would definitely return. :-)
Delicious food! I brought a colleague there for her first time and am happy to say that she will be going back and was as happy with her experience as I have always been.
I have been to Bistro 67 during quiet times and busy times and have always had great service and great food. I will be looking forward to my next visit.
We’ve been to Bistro 67 a few times before and have always been wowed by the food and the service. Our last experience however was the worst we’ve had. Certain parts of the meal were great. The service this time was less than mediocre. We waited over a half hour for our appetizers, our server knew that we had been waiting way too long and instead of explaining the situation he completely avoided us and let our drinks go empty. Our appetizers consisted of a salad and and a tapas feature. Neither of these things should have taken this long. One of our mains was delicious, the other one was a $38 beef tenderloin that hadn’t appeared to be seasoned at all and the vegetables were drowned in balsamic vinegar. Our server added an extra drink to our bill that we did not order or receive. The best part of our experience was the hostess and the manager that helped get our desserts and bill promptly as she could tell we were being ignored. We’ve always loved it here and now may think twice before going back.
Had a great time. Service was amazing. When we mentioned we were celebrating a birthday they surprised us with a desert with a sparkler. Really felt special. Thanks 😊
Really tasty food and great variety available. The bread appetizer was a bit salty for my liking but the main entrees were fantastic.
Great food, friendly staff and wonderful atmosphere. Will be coming back
Unfortunately very disappointed. Ordered two salads at our table. One the beet and apple was terrible. The beets and apple pieces looked the liked they had been cut with a “zesting tool”. We really had to look in the bowl to find them. Basically the bowl was various boring greens and almost translucent beets and apples. I hope the Teaching Instructor observes the plates sent out to the customers in the future. We dine at many places and love to experience new young chefs work. Please take the the time to improve as your restaurant will have more than just a handful of customers.
Server forgot drink order, but realized it. Brussels sprouts were amazing. Great space, interesting menu, attentive service. $35 pad Thai was very disappointing... For that price it should have an amazing presentation and taste like Thai street food; it tasted and looked like ketchup.
Excellent food as always. The background noise is noticeable and the only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 for ambiance, but if there is a visible sunset it makes the visit extra special.
Lovely waitress, great food and a good place to hold a business meeting, which is what we did. Pad Thai was outstanding.
We had a lovely birthday lunch. all 4 of us loved our meals.
Overall, loved the food! The crab cakes were excellent, the carrot hummus wasn't great, but the Mahi Mahi main dish was delicious and to finish, desserts, honey 4 ways and a chocolatey cake were a perfect finish to this dinner shared among friends.
I love the atmosphere, it's very elegant and comfortable. The food prep time was reasonable, and the food quality is amazing! The only things that could be improved would be the portion sizes. The appetizers we ordered to share and my dessert were all quite small for the price (crab cakes and the nougat bar). As a college student, it can be difficult to afford the prices, so it would be ideal to introduce some cheaper options and maybe student discounts/specials for dinner!
I'd love to try and return sometime in the summer for an even nicer view by the window!
I always love coming here. I know I’ll get a great meal, and they had bread sculptures on display that were fabulous.
Would recommend a different pinot Grigio - the one we had was too sweet and fruity.
Enjoyed the quiet ambiance. Variety of food choices. Food had good flavours and textures. Will return in summer to see the gardens growing.
Everything was wonderful from start to finish. Our waitress, Nicole, was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. The food was delicious and the portions were good. We had the pasta and catch of the day and they were both superb. For appetizers we had the crab cakes and Brussel sprouts. These too were amazing. This was our first visit to Bistro 67 but not our last. Amazing all around. Well done Bistro 67
Great food! I had the burger and fries. Both were incredibly tasty
A terrific meal. The food was perfect and served hot. The steak was one of the best I have ever had...amazing.
Opportunity: when booking, your reservation confirmation said we should enter at the college main entrance due to construction . We did. Finally found college security who told us we had to go to the “cff”. We explained the circumstance and were directed to drive to the restaurant. It was a very stormy night so this journey didn’t enhance the experience.
Second opportunity: the booking process asked whether this was a special occasion. I responded to the affirmative saying it was our 44 th wedding anniversary. Why ask if it is ignored when we’re there. To ask does create a certain expectation.
We will return and have already recommended you to 2 other couples.
Amazing food and service. We will go back for sure
This was our second visit to Bistro 67. We really love the atmosphere, the servers are awesome and the food is great. No complaints on the noise level. It was all good.
Excellent food and service. Wish we could eat there every night!
Best meal I've had in Durham
We drive from Ottawa to Kitchener 4 or 5 times a year. If we can, we always stop at Bistro 67 on the way to Kitchener. It's one of the few places around Whitby that accepts reservations on a Friday night. As it turned out, that was a good thing for us. If they didn't take reservations, we wouldn't have gone there in the first place.
Bistro 67 is refreshingly different than the "cookie cutter" restaurants that we see everywhere. Their food choices are a little unique, very delicious, and well presented. Their staff take the time to explain the menu and specials and answer any questions we have. Most of the staff are students (I think.) I applaud them for their professionalism and effort.
The food is very fresh and healthy
I sometimes have a problem understanding the items on the menu
We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Bistro 67. The design of the restaurant is attractive and unique. The dishes we ordered were delicious and created with flair. Our server was excellent. The timing of each course was perfect. We were given helpful information when making our selections. It was truly a lovely evening and we would highly recommend Bistro 67!
The food was excellent, a tad on the pricey side . The service was great and did not feel rushed to leave. Will be going back
Most of the food was delicious. Not so much was the waffles with chicken gravy that came with the 4 Tapas starter. They were cold and stale tasting. My hamburger meal was very good.
All very expensive though which all 6 of us agreed on. And $11 for a 5oz glass of local wine is very pricey.
We have eaten here numerous times and it never disappoints. Thank you, Louise
Great place and I love the fact that portion sizes were not outrageous! Great food at proper sizes.
Food and service were amazing! Comparable to any fine dining restaurant downtown. It’s great to have such great food quality in the Durham region. Our server Amanda was wonderful!
Great restaurant for date night. Appetizer and main course options were plenty but need more deserts.
Service was great!
Food was good. The cost was a bit steep though.
