This place has the BEST Bloody Mary Bar - it's a meal in and of itself!
Stand by good review, but kitchen is always a bit slow.
Good food poor service
Everything was perfect, but they need to redesign their menu to be easier to read/more simple.
Server was great and food was good!
Good Happy Hour menu and pricing. Have visited many times over the last couple of years and have always enjoyed the food and drinks. In particular, I always thought the margaritas were one of the best around - sadly that was not the case this past visit. Actually one of the worst margaritas I have had recently. That being said, Lauren, or waitress was wonderful.
Service was bad, food was great. Made my reservation well ahead of time, and they seated us 20 mins late and we had to wait another 20 mins to get our silverware to stir the coffee.
Probably the worst dining experience I have ever had. Waited 1.5 hours for the server to tell us the steaks take that look to cook. Needless to say we left without having dinner that night.
Not a good experience. Had to talk my son into going-does not like this place; which I got him to give them another chance-which they blew; his NY strip steak was mostly fat; arrived at 615...we are familiar with menu, ordered right away and did not revive our food until almost 730 and they served us our salad the same time as our meal. We didn’t eat the salad because I did not want my dinner to get cold; still searching in Bham for my everyday goto spot that Mitchell’s once filled.
what a lovely place to meet and greet!
the food was delicious and my girlfriends
really enjoy their drinks😉 definitely will be back! hats off to our waitress who took
the picture! very nice person!
Went there for NYE. First visit and was disappointed. Took 30 minutes to be served entrees. French onion soup was luke warm. Reheat of soup took so long, rest of party had finished their entrees. Waiter was friendly but was new and and still learning on the job. Salmon entree was very salty and not cooked to preference. Bread was served cold. Never offered to adjust bill for soup or anything else.
We were in the enclosed porch, which has a great view of Woodward. The heaters made it warm enough. In the spot we were in (only one table affected), condensation from the ceiling dripped on us, so they moved us.
I appreciate the vegetarian / vegan options.
The food as always was delicious. Our server was prompt, courteous and offered many suggestions. We had the ceasar salad for two (please note: if that's all you are eating; it's perfect. It was enough for four people who are ordering a meal too.) It was served in a huge wooden bowl and was amazing. Then we had the halibut special and the chef made me a roasted vegetable dish which was great. For dessert we opted for the cheesecake to share...omg one of the best cheesecakes I've had in a long time. Great place to come for New Year's Eve.
Food was delicious, service not so much. My salad plate sat in front of me long after I was done, despite the server visiting our table 3 times after I was through. When the food runner brought my entree he waited for me to pick up my salad plate, then placed my entree in front of me and left the table with me still holding my dirty salad plate. I sat there like that until our server came by and finally took it
New Years dinner. Very good. Service is always excellent.
Worst experience ever! Our food came out wrong and nothing was done to try and fix it. Everything took forever to happen, from ordering our food to receiving our bills. I’ve never experienced service like this from Bistro Joe’s ever!
Consistently good food and service. Variety of food and delicious.
Food was great; however, waiter was rude and not helpful.
The service of food was slow
Other than that it was nice
The food was very good!
Terrific food, service and atmosphere as always. LOVE happy hour here!! Thank you!
Terrific spot for bloody Mary brunch, happy hour or just dining! Great staff and you are not taken for granted. Delightful!!!
I hadn't realized that there was so much seating available. You can sit in the front where there is a heated porch or in the back where it's quieter. It's a great neighborhood restaurant!
Very bad service. Waiter forgot my soup and brought main dish out. I sent it back. My friend sent hers back. It took almost a half hour to get the soup. They tried to bring our original burgers, which we sent back and asked them to cook new ones. I then took another 45 minutes to get our main dishes. They apologized and offered a free dessert. We declined and they gave us each a $10 gift card. What should have been an hour and a half meal became a three hour ordeal. Although the food was tasty, I would never return.
My family loves to dine here. We love the burgers, tuna tacos, shrimp and grits, raw oysters, and stick ribs. The last visit, we also ordered the grilled octopus appetizer. Although it was delicious with a side a arugula salad, it had one skinny piece of octopus. It really should have had a couple pieces.
First timers! We loved the atmosphere. Food & service were of great quality. We already want to go back.
Great view of Woodward, as we tore through the mushroom flatbread, and lingered with our drinks. Perfect.
Food and service were great. The sea bass was delicious! The only complaint was the temperature. Our entire party thought it was uncomfortably warm.
Always enjoy our dinners here! Service and food excellent. Cost is inline with others in the area.
One of our favorites. Great Happy Hour menu.
This was an awesome place! Can't remember the server's name but he was really good. It was our first visit but won't be our last.
Great brunch experience, my omelette was delish, but my friend's croque madame!??! a masterpiece! good tea selection (we were teetotalling that day). server should pick another line of work. he was "meh" at best. hostess and manager fab as usual.
I had a great time celebrating my birthday at Bistro Joe’s today. The food was great (which it they never disappoint) service was awesome.
Always a go to spot for a hearty brunch with great food.
Met some girlfriends for a birthday brunch. We’d been before, and we wanted to go again to try different menu items. We really enjoyed it. The service was quick and food delicious. We’ll be back.
Always a solid choice! The food and service are consistently great.
Always amazing food would like a flat bread with pepperoni though and $15 for a Henny and come was a little much but amazing experience 4.5/5 would recommend to everyone
Excellent food and service. Will definitely return.
After 45min of being seated one of the orders was brought to the table. After 5 min two other orders were brought in. The fourth order (stake) took an extra 15min and it was undercooked. It was send back and brought back after 10min. By then the other guests were done eating. Lame service, very slow, on an evening were a quarter of the tables were open. Food was OK and overpriced (for example, flatbread with cheese and tomatoes $16 that was half of a regular pizza). Will never go back. Many other better choices for the same price or cheaper in downtown Birmingham.
