Excellent food and excellent service; going back for sure
Nolah delivered as promised. The service was outstanding, very knowledgeable and delightful wait staff. The food was excellent, and served perfectly timed. The Sommelier is a gem and wonderful to have on hand. Our only minor issue was having to wait 15 minutes for our table. We arrived on time, and were told when we made the reservations, there was a hard 2 hour window to accommodate next seatings. As it's a small venue to begin with, we were jammed together at the door waiting so it wasn't ideal. Apart from that though, this truly is a fantastic treasure on the West Island. Highly recommend!
This was our second time visiting Bistro Nolah. We brought two other couples with us this time. Everyone loved the food. This restaurant is definitely a treat in the West Island. You will not find this kind of food just anywhere. My favorite meal is still the jambalaya.
The food was mediocre, I was expecting more based on the Google reviews.
I loved this place. Conveniently located on the West Island. Great food,
ambiance and interesting drinks.
Food was very good though the menu offered a limited number of choices. We tried a variety of dishes: crab cakes were good, shrimp creole very good, mac n cheese was decadent and the pan seared scallops were also very good. Overall service was very good as well as the food was very good. I didn't rate it a 5 as it was not one of those memorable experiences; will definitely go back
We really enjoyed our dinner at Nolah. It had a nice vibe; a mix of couples and small groups of friends. The lighting is nice and low so gives a great ambiance. The chalkboard items enhance the regular menu. Wine by the glass is thoughtfully chosen.
The food was good; nicely presented and tasty. However, I felt that the crab cakes were mostly filler rather than crab, which was disappointing for the price. Otherwise, we really enjoyed our meals. We will be back but won’t order the crab cakes!
Have been here a bunch of times! We always try something new and never disappoints. Food is delicious, drinks are original and wine list is great. Servers are passionate are location is cozy. We love it!
Authentic Cajun, creole Louisiana classics... the gumbos & jambalaya’s are delicious prepared. Very good fried chicken & perfectly done duck legs. Leave room for the bread pudding with Jack Daniel caramel sauce ...
Great food! My wife and I had a great time there for our anniversary. We will definitely be back!
J’ai simplement adoré mon expérience! Le pain perdu était simplement superbe !!!!
Great decor, complete with twinkle lights, and a nice romantic ambiance, delicious food, perfectly curated Southern menu, exceptional service, (it was the first time I actually paid attention when the server explained the menu to us at a restaurant, he made us want to try everything on the menu!), we were even brought a delicious appetizer to try as "compliments of the chef", one of the best experiences I've had at a restaurant in Montreal :)
Awesome restaurant, never fails to impress! The shrimp and grits are amazing!
Always spot in with every dish! Love that this is no ordinary brunch spot! My mouth’s happy place :)
Haven’t returned in a while so we decided to have brunch. We arrived and were seated immediately. Waitress seemed to be off today not the usual great service... anyways we finally had heard the fail sir ISIS after her 3rd visit to us after bringing us water the first time then coffee the second time then our drink order the 3rd time ugh .... we order the casserole and also the grits with chorizo. Both plates were yummy. Bus boy was very attentive and had brought us our requests ie more coffees and salt/pepper and also hot sauce. As it become more crowded and not much space to walk thru we had waited quite a bit fir water and coffee refills.
Besides these hiccups all was good.
The service was great and the food excellent. The blackened catfish and shrimp with grits was done to perfection. Their fish cakes also fantastic. All their deserts are great. The bourbon bread pudding and beignets are one of my favourites.
If you’re a “foodie” this is one of THE place to try. The flavours in the food dance in your mouth and every bite is so Savory! Really delicious.
Great experience from the start. Excellent cocktails, amuse bouche was great, appetizers sizzling hot, main courses delicious and the beignets, well, they are the best. We joked that we could have started with the beingnettes as our appetizer. Service was impeccable and friendly.
Having moved into the neighborhood in May, we passed in front of Nolah every day and said we should try it sometime. Well, our 26th anniversary came up and we wanted something out of the everyday dining experience, and we most certainly got it at the Bistro. Smooth blues greeted our ears walking in the door, subdued lighting and a cozy little table for two awaited us. I had reserved the table only 30 minutes ahead of time, and had no wait. Some nice red house wine, (I forget the name), swiftly brought by our waitress, nice hot bread buns and a delicious Chipotle-honey butter to start alongside some calamari that were properly fried, and then on to the main courses: Duck Confit for the Mrs, and Braised ribs for myself. All she could do was quiver with enjoyment of the flavour, and as for myself, well, let's just say I love ribs, and the plate left absolutely nothing to be desired. Perfect portions, great sides, and a really nice dining out experience for our celebration. We will be going back, and Yes, I recommend you try it for yourselves.
The only complaint was that the food came too quickly.
There was no down time between courses.
Food was excellent! I liked the idea that you could order a small portion if you wanted to try something, ie. mac & cheese.
Downside - we found it to be a bit loud and they turned the lights down too low. We had to use the flash light on our cell phone to read the menu as well as the bill. A minor issue- just want it noted.
We will definitely be going back.
Food was amazing, service was excellent he explained everything on the menu.
Great service, the food was nicely spiced and mouth watering amazing. The ambience was great but it did get a little noisy once the restaurant was full.
Nice restaurant - Although small, it was very noisy. Not recommended for a romantic dinner. Food was very good
Food is great but 1) much too crowded, tables so close together
2) service not good. My brother in law didn’t want salty and the waitress didn’t help him out at all. He ordered a salad only;(
3) glass of wine so expensive!
This was my second time at Nolah. What I did not like is we were told as we sat down that we had to leave in two hours (we had arrived at 6:30 p.m). The service was rushed to the point I had to tell them to slow down. At 8:25 p.m. we were informed that the rush was over and that we could stay longer. We did not. The food was very good, but, the service was too rushed.
We thoroughly enjoyed Bistro Nolah! The waiter and waitress were very attentive, explained all of their meals, appetizers, etc. The food was so tasty and full of flavor! You didn't feel rushed and the ambiance was very warming.
Will definitely go back....maybe try their brunch!
Good meal, a little over priced but overall nice experience. Wait staff knowledgeable, ambiance was nice and they for sure have the monopoly on cajun dining in montreal
This was our 5th brunch at Nolah ( we have been there many times for dinner as well) and wanted to introduce a friend to this wonderful restaurant. The service, from arrival to goodbye, was exceptional. The food was amazing and our friend will be back!
The whole menu looked delicious. Chose the shrimp jambalaya. Perfectly cooked, spicy but not overwhelming. Grits are creamy and flavorful. More frequent water refills would not be unwelcome. Cool background music.
Fantastic New Orleans ambience. The service is prompt and thorough. The restaurant experience is elegant but the dress code is business casual. The food is worth the cost and while the portions don’t appear impressive at first glance, they are filling and generous. The food is melt in your mouth, delicious! The wine is amazing and well paired, coming from a private importation. I would eat at Bistro Nolah every week!
The Shrimp creole was very good, nice size shrimp in a sweet & spicy sauce served with white rice & crisp green beans. The duck leg was crisp & moist served with mashed potato & also green beans. The bread pudding with Jack Daniels syrup was the perfect ending.
Great Louisiana cuisine. We loved everything we had there. Service was flawless. Nice selection of beer and wine. Can become a bit loud.
Extremely noisy to the point we had to leave right after finishing our meals.
For sure not the best place to celebrate a romantic B-Day nor to go out and talk with your wife after a long & intense week at work.
Food was really good on my wife's end; mine was just ok.
I don't think we'll go back any soon.
Best fried chicken I’ve ever had! Perfectly paired with French toast and maple syrup.
We’ve been to Bistro Nolah for dinner. First time for Sunday Brunch. Absolutely fantastic.
After reading various reviews, we decided to give this local restaurant a try. We were not disappointed - the food was fantastic! From the crab cake appetizers to the bread pudding dessert, everything was fresh and delicious. Definitely worth a visit.
This has become our favorite restaurant for special occasions. Again this year we celebrated our anniversary here. The food and ambiance reminds us of being back in New Orleans (which was our favorite vacation). The service is A-1. They know their wines and give an excellent description of the food when explaining the menu. Can't wait to try the Sunday brunch.
We had a lovely evening once again at Nolah. My sister and brother in law drove in from the South Shore for their second supper at Nolah. They both say it is definitely worth the drive. We enjoyed the ribs, shrimps and salmon which was on the blackboard menu. The seasonal salad with apples was very tasty as was the spicy tomato soup. Amélie our server was very attentive and and described the menu in detail. We enjoyed the background music. My sister forgot her umbrella on the back of the chair. They telephoned us when we were on our way home so we were able to come back and get the umbrella. What great customer service!
Delicious food, great service. excellent quality/price. The wine list is also very interesting.
Very nice place to eat interesting food , menu a bit limited but great value.
