Bistro Verde - Nordstrom Pacific Centre
Bistro Verde is located in the heart of downtown Vancouver on the third floor of Nordstrom Pacific Centre with floor to ceiling windows overlooking Robson square and the Vancouver Art Gallery.
Scratch made fare, craft cocktails and a wine and beer list with great local gems make this a destination restaurant for any occasion.
Our reso was for 12noon and promptly got seated.
Ruth our server was awesome. Great personality.
The food was tasty and clean.
Marianne wha seated us also came to check on us.
We thought that the cafe was short staffed. The waitress, which we have had before and who is very good, did not provide the usual service. It was very slow but it appeared that this was going on at various tables with different servers.
What a perfect place to get away from the noise and crowds. Beautiful location with window view of the city below. The food was delicious and we had the nicest waiter looking after us without rushing us.
Will certainly return whether I am shopping or not. A reason to go downtown.
The food was good, the service was attentive. Prices were a little on the high side with portions a little on the small side.
Skirt steak & pizza selections were not available upon our visit on Valentine’s Day. The restaurant recommended lamb shank which I thought was tender and flavourful. My wife ordered the Saffron Pasta and she thought it was just ok.
Great venue for that special occasion amid the cityscape
This place was great. The ambiance, the food, the view. The only thing was the absentee server. It wasn’t even busy when we began feeling ignored when we wanted to order more. It’s too bad. He was young and probably not very experienced but should have at least been by to see if we enjoyed the food or wanted more drinks or even to remove the empty plates. We will definitely go again because the other servers are probably much better and I think this experience of poor service will be a one off.
Pros: Great food, especially Caeser salad and fries. Value is high.
Cons: Service is very whatever, table arrangement is poor.
Ordered medium rare steak salad and it came out twice well done. Little flavor. Waiter was pleasant and accommodating but food was disappointing
I usually order the same thing (Turkey club) which is truly amazing. Every time I'm tempted to try something else, its a catastrophe though. (The Deconstructed caesar salad, prawn & chorizo pasta, are so bad they are inedible.) The location and service keep me coming back . I just have to learn to stick to what I know is good.
It’s such a downrated restaurant. I will definitely visit this restaurant again.
A place to stop and rest while shopping. Close to parking. Seems a bit noisy and could be better if there is some sort of a sound control system in place.
lots of fresh and healthy options - you can go all out with a heavier meal or eat healthy (and tasty) with one of their lower calories dishes. love the brussel sprouts!! and look forward to my ovation stick after every meal :)
The food was not scarce the portions of fries too little- we were served a very small glass for our beer then had to ask twice to get a bigger glass - finally one arrived hot from the dishwasher- useless for beer.
The price for one beer one Turkey sandwich with tip was over $30
Aside from the view the overly priced food and bad service- I would not recommend this place.
Sad because with very little work it could be a winner
I think you should have a vegetarian and vegan option. Our Waiteress was very nice and professional.
We order the dine-out menu. The celeriac apple soup was a pleasant surprise! Ambiance was nice and it was quiet (it was a Monday night). Definitely will come back again to try their regular menu.
Food was tasty. I was surprised that I was offered a breakfast menu, never happened before.
Wish it had eggs Benedict with smoked salmon (my favourite) on it.
However, I ended up ordering the vegetable omelette and it was very good!
Capuchino was good too.
Went for Dine Out on a weeknight. Food was excellent, great value for what we got. Waitress was knowledgeable and service was really good. Nice location at the top of Nordstrom, was not busy or loud while we were there.
We came in for Dine Out 2019 and we were extremely impressed by the whole environment where it was nice and calm for dining - the food choices were alright because there was a whole lot of cheese flavoring and nuts making the flavors clash slightly with the tastebuds. Our server, Tara, was amazing and checked in with us from time to time without being overbearing as some other restaurants I've been to could get with their servers. Tara was extremely pleasant to talk to and she had the friendliest smile and tone of voice. It really made the experience really great. We were placed by the host in a window-side seat so the views, despite the rainy weather, was amazing to see. To have yummy food with a side of a great view really tied it in together.
We'll come back for certain. The service was great and the restaurant was quiet in late Sunday afternoon. The salads and portobello mushroom burgers were fantastic. Try the blackberry lemonade.
Went for dine out. Scallops were overcooked, risotto was undercooked and waiter was nowhere to be seen. Didn't bring us water for half an hour because he forgot. I was not impressed. Hopefully, restaurant and staff were just having an off night. I had a baby stroller with me and they sat my friends and I in a standard booth seat. Waiter complained that my baby stroller was in the way. Like, what?! The staff seated us in those seats despite me asking for something easier to get in and out of.
- Bisque was outstanding
- Risotto- absolute worst I’ve ever had
- Dessert very good
Felt somewhat sick as I left due to Risotto
Made a reservation well ahead of time but got an average-located type of table that walk-ins were getting as well. Would have expected a window having made a reservation and confirmed it at their request by phone. Crab roll-bun was sopping wet from watery filling and filling not particularly well-seasoned. Server was good.
Very noisy but good food—divided without asking. Requested a window table and offered a good spot. Lovely time for lunch.
Decent service and food, good ambience! Hard to find though as you’ll be directed to the inside of Nordstrom - it’s actually on the 3rd floor.
Me and a friend celebrated birthday here but they offer no gifts or any special discounts...
Been here several times - great spot to showcase the city. Only disappointment on this recent visit was that my main entree - sesame chicken salad - was soggy and limp. I've had it before and did not have same experience. The brussel sprouts we ordered as an appetizer were absolutely delicious. Service, as always, was on point; both servers were attentive and friendly.
It was fine.
Our waitress was great, Super sweet and went out of her way to make sure out experience was amazing! The food it self i was not impressed with, i found the flavours to taste ‘cheap’ considering the price of the plate.
Excelente atención y servicio, muy recomendable si está en Vancouver de paseo o de negocios
We went to the Bistro Verde with the illusion that it would be like the Nordstrom Grill in Seattle, we were disappointed to find out that it is not. The service was OK but was unprofessional and seeing the staff, it is a more seasoned staff. We had to ask on a continuous basis to have our waters and drinks refilled and we were never asked how our food was.
The food was OK but nothing to rave about. I had the crab roll, by the time the roll came to me, the bun was completely soggy, my wife had the roast turkey club which was tasty and well put together, but again, only ordinary.
I believe though that if management took an interest in the running of this restaurant, this could be a great place to eat.
Food was a bit on the salty side, but overall it was very tasty. My guest was really impress with the food, ambience and the overall service. It's a great place to take your out of town guest.
We always come on Boxing Day for a late lunch but we were rather disappointed in all the menu charges. The Caesar salad dressing was way too spicy and took away from the salad. The club sandwich might as well have been from any other restaurant (nothing special) and a poor replacement for the spicy prawn linguine. Missing the old chicken sandwich too - new one seems like an Arizona import. And also noticed many of the prices have gone up quite a bit.
Please bring back the old menu that had some Vancouver flare. This new one might as well be any other average restaurant.
Great salad choices and Kale and Pear salad excellent while the sesame chicken salad disappointing, lack of taste and variety and bland. Brussels sprouts frites amazing. Great location and service
A favourite spot for lunch with friends. From the window tables you have a perfect view of lively Robson Square and the Vancouver Art Gallery. Food is always good, but it's more about the overall ambience. Service on our visit was pleasant if a bit erratic - but to be fair the place was packed with holidays shoppers.
The staff were very friendly and competent. They got on with things but did not impede the conversation.
Never had a bad meal.
Visit Bistro Verde often when shopping at Nordstrom and it is generally a very positive experience however there are a few issues:
1) Hardly any vegan/vegetarian options which in a city like Vancouver is surprising.
2) it is always FREEZING in the restaurant.
I had the crab roll for lunch, for $25. My brioche bun was burned. Salad was just ok. I would have mentioned this to the server but couldn’t find her and by then, i was too hungry so just ate the crab and salad. My guest had the beef bourginon and enjoyed it.
It’s a great spot but keep trying with food and maybe more staff during the holiday lunch hour.

This is the second time my wife and I have dined at Bistro Verde. It has a great downtown location. We were seated promptly and at great table by the window. Service was very good. The meals were well presented and tasty. The wine is somewhat overpriced. We ended up buying a bottle as two 9 oz glasses pretty much cost the same. Overall a very good experience.
Always great service by Marianne at bistro verde, and appreciate the good work Randy does as food and beverage manager. Friendly staff nice room with good view of robson square and really really tasty food, what more could you want.
