Bistro Verde - Nordstrom Pacific Centre
Bistro Verde is located in the heart of downtown Vancouver on the third floor of Nordstrom Pacific Centre with floor to ceiling windows overlooking Robson square and the Vancouver Art Gallery.
Scratch made fare, craft cocktails and a wine and beer list with great local gems make this a destination restaurant for any occasion.
Everything was amiss in the service. Food came out in the wrong order (main as appetizer), server missed taking an order of someone in our party, 2 entrees came out 10-15 min after everyone else’s.
We waited over an hour for our kids menu items to arrive, despite ordering those upon arrival. The whole meal took so long to arrive that some of our party had to leave.
Love the view over all the high rises in Vancouver
We are never disappointed when we visit Bistro Verde. Food is great, service is usually outstanding!
We periodically have lunch at Bistro Verde downtown. Reservations are recommended and a window table is a must. I have always enjoyed the meals and the variety of choices.
Warm room with pleasant downtown view. Interesting menu, good value and surprisingly tasty food.
Food was excellent! The Brussel sprouts were delicious! We all enjoyed our meal and service was top notch! This is a hidden gem in the city.
It is a good restaurant. But one of our dishes was cold and unappealing.
All was very good with one exception. The hostess put me and my guest at different tables so we each waited for the other in the restaurant for 20 minutes not knowing the other person was there but sat elsewhere. We only found out by calling each other.
It will be nice to have more new items in the menu or seasonal dishes.
We had a lovely meal (three of us), we all had the short rib grilled cheese and it was delicious (one with soup, one with fries and one with salad). The cheesecake was delicious. Our server was lovely. My only issue was the temperature, it was incredibly cold.
very nice location and decor and general atmosphere but the noise level was high and the main course was cool when it arrived !
Great service. I eat here frequently as it’s near several clients. The food has progressively gotten blander since opening. Really nothing I really like on the menu any more
Great food as usual and I am so happy to see that you made repairs to your booths. The place lloks great.
There are just so few restaurants in this area, that one has to keep coming back to the same handful. Amazing that a department store restaurant is the best available choice.
Great service , enjoyable food and selection - lovely casual atmosphere-
Very mediocre food and not why I would expect from Nordstrom’s. Ordered the Chicken Sesame greens salad and ordered (and paid) for a side of chicken as there was so little in it.
Great food, great service, beautiful view over downtown streets (3rd floor) and between buildings to the sky. It was, unlike many restaurants and bars it seems, quiet enough to have a conversation easily, which was a refreshing change. I also like that there was enough space between tables to not feel like we were sitting with strangers who were listening to every word. The only thing that I'd like to see are some less expensive wine per glass prices.
There were four of us and it's great place to have a bite to eat before the Symphony. We made reservations to be sure we would not have to wait for a table. We all ordered something different..salmon, mushroom flatbread, soup and halibut taco. All delicious and tastefully presented. Service was excellent. We certainly plan on returning.
Amazing food and service. Very impressed as the restaurant located in department store
Food is lackluster
This hidden gem tucked away behind menswear in Nordys is a find. The city views are incredible overlooking the Vancouver Art Gallery. I surprised my daughter and made a lunchtime reservation. We were seated at a window table. Lucky us.
We had Burgers , Prosecco and the tastiest Spring Mix Salad with citrus vinaigrette.......
The staff were friendly.
Our experience was amazing. She loved her surprise.
We visited shortly after the lunch rush so the service was good but somewhat relaxed. The food was outstanding.
Celebration with a friend of mine. The hottest was very pleasant & good sense of humour. I enjoyed the choice of the table with view of the city. Good atmosphere. Minimal noise level & good food but small portion in my opinion . Delicious bread pudding with cheese cake cream decoration. Nice presentation.
I've been to Bistro Verde a few times and I must say that this time, we were a little disappointed. My friend and I ordered the wild Shrimp & Saffron Chitarra Pasta. Mine came out while we were still waiting for hers. They messed up on the order which came out in about 10 mins. The server was very apologetic. Our issue was that our pasta was cold. I started eating before my friend did and my dish was already cold. Her dish, which you would think would be hotter as it was freshly made wasn't hot either. As we went during lunch, we couldn't wait to get a new plate remade. Definitely not impressed today
Bistro Verde is an excellent setting with views of downtown and trees. The decor is gorgeous, very contemporary. Service is great...although sometimes a tad quicker than guests are ready for. Menu selections are varied from mid priced to high. The drink menu has lots of choice but some of the wines, and especially cider..is much more expensive than other high end restaurants...cider is incredibly more expensive than in most restaurants...so I’ve stop choosing and opt for beer or a glass of wine. The single most difficult factor for enjoyment of a get together with friends...is the noise level. The noise blocks out conversations except with someone sitting directly beside you. Some of my friends have ruled out coming for a group get together because they can’t talk to anyone but who’s sitting beside them. Other friends love it for the ambiance, menu and the setting. I like coming after visiting the Art Gallery. I recommend placing some acoustic sound barriers in several areas.
Great for out of town guests for a quick lunch - consistent food and good service.
Food good but atmosphere a bit on borng side. Service was excellent
We have enjoyed Verde many times as a lunch stop.....sorry to see that both the service and food quality seem to have slipped a fair bit . Service was impersonal...and rather unfriendly. The daily soup looked and tasted like a commercial version . The Neapolitan pizza was rather wet and the tomatoes were mushy and not fresh. All in all a rather disappointing visit .
My pasta was a tad bit watery for my liking but the flavors were there.
I have eaten at Bistro Verde often and have always enjoyed the food. When a friend and I were there on Monday, October 7th the food was not up to the usual level. We ordered the soup of the of the day which was turkey and white bean. We also ordered the burrata which we shared. The soup had small shards of turkey and very few white beans. As for the burrata, there was, maybe, a large tablespoon full only. I am not exaggerating. I have had the burrata twice before and my friend had had it once before . In each case, we had a generous portion of burrata. I complained to the waiter and the kitchen gave him a small, small ramikin with more burrata. Basically we got a lot of tomatoes for the $14 or so dollars it cost. We started to eat the soup after the complaint about the burrata and we didn't say anything. We gave up.
Nice place to have a business lunch
This is the first time I have had a disappointing experience at Bistro Verde. Server was not attentive to table or "warming" counter and our meals stayed on counter so long some of the food was cooled and had to be sent back. Cooks on that day were not in agreement the BV burger part was was cooled....so I ate l/2 cause I was hungry, left other half on plate, and did not tip that day. In the law of averages, there will be those days, but entirely preventable if focussed on the job at hand.
Our waiter was very helpful with choosing our wine. He brought samples for us to try. The food was excellent but they ran out of short rib grilled cheese which is what 3 of the 4 people in our group wanted.
A wonderful respite away from the middle of a noisy and congested City
Friendly staff, food was delicious, great views
Very good food enjoyed by all 3 of us. Very attentive server and great view of the Art Gallery building. We’ll return!
The menu is a bit old and tired. Love the atmosphere and the view but the food isn’t what draws me in.
We arrived when the restaurant was not busy at all and it took our waitress along time to get our drinks (water) and alcohol. We watched three other tables get drinks well before us. We were trying to make it a nice quick lunch but it ended up being a long lunch. We weren't disappointed with the food but the slow service wasn't what we anticipated.
