We were placed in a small and cramped corner of the room right by the entrance (Although I can't really blame the restaurant for this as they just made use of the space). However, the food took extremely long to arrive between courses. I think at least 20 - 30 minutes between appetizer and main course. Also, the food itself tasted mediocre. Perhaps it was because it was the Buy Up 3 course meal, where you get $180 worth of food for $90.

Lydia’s service was not not that great.
Ask for lemons for the water, didn't get it until the entrees came.
Mentioned to her they were missing a prawn on the plate, she said it was done by weight.
We also mentioned it to another waiter, he came by with the extra prawn!!! Nice Waiter!!! Too bad we didn't get his name. That's SERVICE!!!

This was a stellar meal. Very good food, enough of it and very good value. I docked a few points off ambiance because we were tucked in a corner next to a window and it was a little cold. We had one of those ptromotioanl meals for 2 for $90.

We had a nice diner till a group of 30 people showed up around 930 pm and made much noise and where smelling like a cannabis shop. Our waiter didn’t had time for us anymore and forgot my dessert wine and at the end he told me the bartender couldn’t find wine....

My husband and I came to Black & Blue Steakhouse to celebrate a milestone birthday. We were very impressed with the stunning decor. We sat upstairs. The service was quite good although they rushed us through our martini with our meal arriving quite fast. My husband felt it was the best prime rib dinner he had ever eaten! My tenderloin melted in my mouth. Our Caesar salad was made table side which we hadn’t seen in a long time. We were given a complementary happy birthday slice of cake and the waiter even sang! All in all it was a wonderful experience and we would highly recommend it.

I completely get the fact that the lunch special is amazing value at just $14 for a burger, fries and a beer.
But...if you’re going to offer a burger at this kind of restaurant, at least ask how well the customer would like the burger to be cooked. The burger was meh. Fries were disappointingly soggy. The beer was good (Stella), if a little flat.
Next time I would go A la carte.

If you look for fine dining restaurant, you can't go wrong at this place. Its specialty is steak. From very expensive to medium price range, I can get the best steak in my budget. I have been this restaurant in different occasions, retirement party, Christmas lunch with coworkers, and family dinner. I enjoy the food and services. Too bad, I don't drink alcohol and can't comment on wine selection.

We originally planned on dining in the main dining room and at the last moment chose a seat on (their very excellent) rooftop patio. My wife and I shared a couple glasses of very well priced white wine and went on to have their taster platter. For the quality of the restaurant, and the food itself, it was very reasonably priced at $110. The presentation was simply outstanding, and the food itself was some of the best I can remember. I would happily recommend their version of a modern upscale bistro to anybody. $110 might give some sticker shock, but if you are looking for quality and ambiance, a full season patio (!!!) in the heart of downtown vancouver, and a menu that delivers what it promises, then the price tag is well earned. We are definitely making this a destination when passing through Vancouver.

Booked on Open Table with request for a quiet table for two as this was a birthday, however, the hostess tried to seat us at a tiny table for two just inside the front door. Requested alternate seating and the manager Arty(sp?) jumped in and accommodated us very nicely with an upstairs table. He checked on us during the meal and also when we left. Great service from him! I ordered salmon (I know- it is a steakhouse) which was ok but nothing special.

I absolutely love this restaurant! The service is amazing, the food is excellent, and the atmosphere is beyond! The only thing I didn’t like was the king crab appetizer. It was a bit fishy. Other than that we all had a wonderful time!

Music too noisy, Kind of Music does not fit to ambiance, potato gratin have Bern cold, Brussel sprouts were Burns to black. Service was excellent,

Service was terrible (we were sat at the rooftop so perhaps downstairs would have better service). It took 30 minutes just to get out dessert which was a slice of cake. Server was not attentive and the ceviche just tasted like lime. The only good thing about this place was the steak.

I booked a table with 5 people 3 days ago. When I come here, the waitress brought me to the second floor. I asked on the way, is it available for happy hour? She said yes. But in fact there is only available at the first floor. I told the waitress that we want happy hour and dinner together, but she gave us a sofa not a table. I asked for change, finally I got a table. I spent 20mins in the black and blue to get the table?? The food is very slow, even for the oysters. For this reason, I didn’t eat my dessert and leave in order to see my movie.

The waitress isn’t familiar with the food. I wanted to order Sunday special prime rib, but she didn’t know. Then, I wanted order the 16oz prime rib, she said this isn’t special. I told her it is on your website.

We were celebrating our close friend's 55th Birthday. Due to unforeseen circumstances, 5 of our party of 6 were over 30 minutes late. The staff was beyond gracious as the guest of honour was the first and only to arrive on time.

From the moment we sat down, our Server David along with Marcel and a number of others were highly professional and hospitable. David's knowledge and presentation were awesome!!

Seeing Frenchy was a GREAT SURPRISE!!!!!!!

Most of us went with the promotional Prix Fix Going Glowbal Menu....What a great value!!!!

The food was typical Glowbal standard - Flavourful and Delectible.

Will definitely be back!!

We bought the buy up package as my boyfriend and I are both a big fan of Black & Blue. However tonight’s meal is quite disappointing. We requested that our meat to be cooked medium rare, however it turned out to be rare to barely cooked. We understand it is a striploin and it usually has a strip of fat on the side, but the meat we got, at least more than 50% of the meat was fat. We barely got to eat any of it. When i reflected this disappointment to our server i was asked “What do you want?”. I was quite astonished to hear that as i didn’t have the intention to request for anything. It was asked in an abruptly manner too. I just wanted to bring to the server’s attention that the meat we had was not as expected and hope they can be aware.

We had high hopes going into the restaurant to celebrate an anniversary with my partner. Poor excuse of service. It wasn’t clear who our server was. It started off nice and quick, after we received our appetizer it went downhill. Waiting for our entree took an hour after our appetizer. We had to ask when it’d be coming, we were told it would be out shortly which ended up being 30 minutes. The table behind us who came after us had an issue with their dishes which came out after 15 minutes when addressed. They paid and left before we even got our food. The server let us know that the manager would be coming right away. This did not happen, although the managers were going to other tables and providing them with service, the attention and empathy given to us was lackluster. In the end the manager comped our whole bill. It was nice of them to do that but felt as if he just wanted us out of his hair. Disappointing to receive such poor service in a reputable restaurant. We were not told anyone’s name besides Bob who was quite pleasant.

My husband and I came here for a date night before a Canucks game. We ordered apps and dinner. Our apps came out in a timely fashion and were really good. We then sat for just over an hour waiting for our meal. When it did finally come, everything was cold, including the porterhouse. Since it took so long to get out food and the kitchen was rushing to get it together as we were told by our server, you’d think our meal would be piping hot, but no. Not only did it take forever to get cold food, but we got to the game with 12 minutes to go. The manager apologized profusely and comped the meal, but for a restaurant with such stellar reviews, this was a real disappointment.

Was there to celebrate my sons 19th birthday. The food was good and the service was great. But we did wait almost an hour for the entre to arrive.
The staff was pleasant about it and I don't blame them at all and still left a generous tip. But that was too long to wait.
