We pointed out that it was our special wedding anniversary and there was absolutely no acknowledgement. The food was not as great as usual.

Nice setting, good service. Had the ribeye steak after waiter said how good it was. Was very disappointed at the lack of tenderness. It was tough to cut and eat. Paying $69 for a steak, one would expect a lot more in terms of tenderness. It was cooked correctly, medium rare, but very tough. When brought to the attention of the waiter who checked with the cook, the answer was "we are not sure what might have caused it". Not a very enjoyable dinner.

The ambience was fabulous. The service was good but could have been better it was early and I had to ask for more coffee and waited for them to come and ask me how things were. I had two Luke warm dishes that were clearly heated and given back to me and at the prices they charged it should of been remade.

Evening out to celebrate our 24th wedding anniversary at Black & Blue our 1st visit as we drove in from the suburbs of Vancouver.
Our server was Senna made us feel very relaxed and was friendly and attentive, however gave us our space and made some excellent recommendations. We were comped with some bubbly (Prosecco) right after being seated on 2nd level of the restaurant, very nice touch B&B.
We started with mussels with white wine, shallots, herbs, tomatoes and butter they came with frites however, would suggest perhaps some bread for dipping in the sauce. My wife had the Beef Wellington cooked to perfection and I had the prime rib dinner with all the fixings. Both cooked to medium rare and were exquisite in taste and flavour. We ended our dinner with coffee and their specialty B&B butter-cake.
Overall I would give ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ if I could as the service, staff, atmosphere and flavours of our special evening out was exceptional. Awesome overall experience B&B we’ll definitely be back.

It took them awhile to seat us coz we requested mezzanine floor but I guess it wasn't ready yet.
Our server kept giving us weird looks and questions because of how we ordered. He was very judgemental of our whole ordering process.
We ordered our usual rib eye steak, but the steak was very salty! We couldn't finish at all. Great portions tho. And everything else was really good.
Not coming back tho. Now we have to find another great steakhouse.

I have a high expectation when I been there, because I saw a lot of review were excellent. But when I been there last Wednesday, it made me very disappointed. First of all, the server who serviced us didn't looks friendly and welcome us (people of 7), she wasn't smile for the almost whole night and attitude was quite rude. We spend around 2 hours been there, when the server delivered the last dish for us, she was accidentally pulled the sauce into my wife's pants, she did apologize right away and offered to pay us for the dry clean service of the pants. But still it made that moment was so embarrassed, especially we were having a formal dinner with our guests (from Toronto) and all of us are dressed up.
After that, one of the managers dropped by and apologized. Then the server started to smile to us, also tried nice and to let us feel welcome but that was too late. I got a call from Black & Blue for the feedback last Thursday, I told them my experience, the lady said she will let the manager to call me back until now, no one call me back yet. Be honest, this is the worse restaurant I ever been and I won't be back, also not recommend my families and friends be there.

Worst restaurant experience and I Will never bring business back. Tuesday May 28th, I made reservations for your restaurant. We started at the patio but was given 1 hour until the next reservation because we were told that the reservation was not applicable to the patio nor could we make reservations on the patio. Although the timeframe was fine we were seated on the sofa with cocktail tables and told that all the seating tables were reserved. I don’t understand, we were told we couldn’t make reservations. When it came to eating, it was very uncomfortable and awkward because ordered three dishes while eating it on tables that are fit for small children.
After the hour we were told to settle and go downstairs to continue finishing up with our drinks. We followed a host and he shuttled is to the first floor reception then waited to get a seat. Then they then told us to go upstairs 2nd floor and ushered us to our seat. Our waiter greeted us and passed on the food menu. We told him we were going to drink more but not have dinner. He stopped pouring our water and rudely told us we were sitting In the wrong section and to go downstairs. He said we couldn’t sit in his section and went to talk to someone and took us downstairs.
To me this is ridiculous, it was a Tuesday and there were empty seats everywhere. And I felt deeply disrespected because he made the party feel unwelcome. We then were ushered back downstairs and it took about 30mim until we got service, even though the whole restaurant was empty.
Considering I highly praised the restaurant and convinced my party to come eat at your restaurant, from this experience I will never come back. Especially I will never ever bring my clients to your restaurant as this whole experience was embarrassing and upsetting.
I am very upset by the service and the amount of reshuffling our party had to go though.
I hope there’s better organization.

Very expensive. Service was lacking, as we had to wait ten minutes before anyone even came to see us. Restaurant wasn't busy. We felt there was limited choices and very large portion of meat. Luckily we decided to share a Rib eye (16 oz). Food was very good and well prepared and the waitress did offer us a dessert plate on the house for the lack adequate service at the start. Unfortunately, because of the initial lack of service, it jaded the rest of our experience.

My husband & son took me to this restaurant for a late Mother’s Day Dinner. What a nice treat!
Such a beautiful restaurant—loved the chandeliers. We were sat on the 2nd floor, close to the front windows. Very nice. The restaurant filled up quickly —the diners range from young families , young couples on dates to elderly couples to show that they still deserve to eat steaks🙂
Our waiter was at first bothered about the hostess’ decision making in seating. Then got even more upset when another waiter bumped into nearly spilling the drinks he was balancing on the tray.
However he collected himself & served us well from start to finish.
Since the meat portions are quite big we only ordered the Caesar Salad made infront of you. It was delicious.
My husband ordered the New York Steak, my son the special steak & I ordered the Ribeye. All were juicy, succulent & tender.
We ordered the mushrooms & spinach side dishes but they were super salty. We didn’t touch them.
Overall we had a wonderful dinner. The only thing I would recommend for a restaurant of this caliber is to have a sommelier.

We asked to be moved from the table we were initially seated at which seemed to be a nonissue for the staff. Our server was ex Ellen’s,Simon ( the floor manager) we’re both excellent. The food was decadent and the prices very fairly priced. I appreciated to that our server decanted our wine.

This was a 50th Birthday dinner. The food was mediocre for this high end restaurant. The service was slow. The attention to detail was lacking, one steak done correctly the other was asked for well done and came rare.
We eat at allot of high end restaurants and had Black and Blue recommended to us. Had a dinner at Coast the sister seafood restaurant and had a great meal.
For the price of the meal there was a lack of service, food was not cooked well, the sides were small and cold.
I would go to Gotham Steak house for better value and service for your money.
Our server, Livui, was great. Only issue was the food. We have eaten here many times and it was definitely not up to par. Don’t mind it being expensive if the food quality is good. It wasn’t as good as usual. However , we were able to spend quality time visiting with friends from New Zealand. Wine was excellent, as were the martinis. Valet took very good care of our car as well.

The sides are almost as good as the steaks! Most steakhouses are lacking in side quality. This place does both very well
The service was slow. The main course stated before appetizers. I had to pick three wines before finding one that they had in stock. And although I have been there several times they always give me a terrible table - ones near the washrooms, kitchen or front door - which is understandable if they are busy, but when half the restaurant is empty it is inexcusable.
We had eaten here in September of 2018 and had such a great meal that I wanted to return for a repeat. Unfortunately, the prime rib was very chewy and the Yorkshire pudding was inedible - it was like it had hardened and overcooked under the heat lamp. The best part of the meal was the caesar salad (prepared table-side) and the butter cake. It was also very expensive for the quality.

Everyone was great. I’ve had a lot of experience with black and blue but I have to say that the staff were so great today. Everyone was so friendly and accommodating but I have to give props to our waiter in the dining area. He went above and beyond. Thank you 😊 It made my friend’s birthday even more special.
TOur waiter was attentive with just the right amount of chat. Great narrative while making the caesar salad at our table. The food was so delicious. My husband raved about the mashed potatoes and the blueberry creme brulee> He said they were the best he ever ate. That is saving a lot. Thanks for the wonderful time.

Amazing restaurant, a most go if you are in Vancouver.
Came for a work dinner with overseas clients. Ambience, food, service were all fantastic. We were seated on the second level by the window which also offered a good view of the street activity below.
Great selection of local wines which matched well with the Canadian dry aged beef. Same with the sides which were suggested by the very helpful server who gave recommendations on local and seasonal dishes. Good selection of desserts as well. Price was very reasonable for the quality of the steak, wine and ambiance.
Noise level was a touch too high for good conversation. As it was a work dinner with some clients, it was a missed opportunity for us. Probably a result of the straight and angled surfaces of the walls and ceilings.
Regardless, it was an enjoyable dinner. Our clients were impressed. We will be back.

Went for an anniversary dinner. Food was good and our sever was lovely. Since were celebrating our wedding anniversary as well as Mother’s Day, we were given a free desert and a couple glasses of champagne to enjoy after dinner. Very nice of the restaurant to do. We always like coming here.

We were celebrating my birthday, and had indicated that when making our reservation. Our server greeted us with a pleasant birthday wish, and there was a complimentary dessert with a candle at the end of the meal: a very nice level of recognizing a personal event. Apart from that, we knew what to expect and were not disappointed: excellent steaks and delicious accompaniments in an attractive space. Thank you!
Nice service. Found the booth to be a little tight. My client described it as “economy class”. We declared one of our party to be allergic to shellfish and the staff was very attentive to that. One manager came to give us a quality check moments after he had been out for a cigarette break. Slightly unpleasant. Steaks were great and perfectly cooked. This was my first visit. Will probably try again.
Been a while since we went here. Many of the dishes came cold which was a bit disappointing. Primarily was disappointed with the handling of a situation of another guest: another guest became sick within our eyelines as our food was delivered and they did not allow us to move tables despite asking numerous times. I lost my appetite and nothing was done to rectify the situation save for the guest being escorted to a taxi.
