Arrived early to enjoy amazingly fresh sushi while people watching as the concert crowd joined in. Tempura: so light it levitated off the plate. Tuna tataki carpaccio: so good, we had to order a second one. K-2: a symphony of flavors from smoke to snow crab to seal the meal. As returning guests, we are sure to keep going to this gem!

Service was fast and efficient. The pad thai dish was a bit disappointing. We were interested in a noodle dish but should have stuck with an udon dish. Sushi was moist and super fresh and tasty.

I have been coming to Black Rice for a long time now and the food is consistently good. The angus beef is a must order! A bit disappointing that there wasn’t anymore yakitori on the menu when we visited. Hopefully they bring it back!

Nice restaurant. Food was very good with some unique and interesting twists. Service was extremely slow (it seemed quite understaffed as far as waitstaff). And although I appreciate the efforts and hard work, as a customer, being understaffed isn’t really my concern and should be a concern of the restaurant. Seating took 5 mins as the poor server was running around trying to serve and take care of the customers. Ordering took 20 mins. The food came out fairly quickly. But even paying the bill took 20 minutes! Normally, none of this matters or is very important, but we were going to a show so time was critical. Ultimately, the food was great, the servers (an additional server must have been called in) were friendly and trying their best, location and ambiance was good.

Food and service is always so good here. We love coming here before a show for a quick but tasty meal. They make the best tuna tataki salad. I wish the seating was more comfortable, that's really the only criticism.

Seafood perfection and a great selection of sake. Loved the different dishes perfectly prepared and it’s a fun casual place great for before or after a concert or game close to QE theatre

We tried this restaurant after a game at BC Place because it is about a 5 minute walk, and because I read a lot of really great reviews. So, it is obviously a popular place to go post-game...it was packed. The decor leaves a lot to be desired. The vinyl benches and worn and ripped, there a empty kegs piled by the door, and it's not particularly inviting. However, the service and the food make up for the atmosphere. All of the women serving were fast, friendly and knowledgeable. And we really enjoyed the sushi rolls and tuna tataki carpaccio that we had. The only dish I would not recommend was the steak bites...very chewy and underwhelming.

My Husband & I had a great time enjoying the food . Rose Beef noodle was top notched . Pad thai tiger prawn was way too sweet for me. Ceviche was delicious, I would go again just for the ceviche and Parmesan chips.. It was our special day and we had mentioned about it prior to the reservation. They did not really do anything to make it more special. The staff was more business oriented. But overall experience was good.

Enjoyed my food immensely. Be prepared to ask for soya sauce and Wasabi which felt a bit awkward doing as I would have thought it would be offered.

I suggest the waitresses and waiters to be more attentive to custmoers filling up tea even though it was busy. We asked one of the waitress to fill up the tea before we asked the bill. Maybe she forgot and went to other table to take order. That's part of the services. Thank you

Excellent food. Cocktails were great, black rice ginger and She Saw J., as was black cod and Aburi Hakozushi half platter which we shared. Still a bit hungry so ordered one more dish. Waitress helped us choose. She was efficient and friendly. She found a table for us with less ambient noise. Overall outstanding.

Food was alright, menu is pretty small as expected for an Izakaya. Pictures were a bit deceiving though the decor and everything was a lot more bland than the sake bottle wall suggested. Looked like a fast-food sushi restaurant more than an izakaya.

The servers were friendly and attentive. The food was nice but a bit underwhelming for the price we paid. Not a bad option if you're in the area with friends and need a spot for drinks or a quick bite, but not worth a special trip.

It's my first date spot and every single time the person I'm with is extremely happy. The two lovelies I took out last night were super satisfied with the quality of the food and the serving staff always does a fantastic job. Appreciate you guys!

Went all the way there right when they open to try gyu katsu and they didn’t have it, said it’s not ready. The waitresses were all nice but the manager was really rude. Argued every time we asked for something.
