    As always, we had a wonderful meal with wonderful service (thanks Michelle!). The calamari was very good and the halibut and the chicken with risotto were delicious. Michelle suggested the focaccia bread board which was also very good and although the humus was good, we thought it needed a bit more flavour. We had a quiet table in an area all to ourselves. A wonderful way to celebrate our anniversary! Thanks once again!

    Elegant atmosphere. Attire business casual. Food was amazing. App: phyllo wrapped feta (chef’s kiss). Drinks: bottle of Pinot Grigio. Mains: Steak and Frites(sub. sweet potato), and Top Sirloin. My partner’s steak was a little over cooked but everything else was excellent. Would dine again.

    We have dined here quite a few times over the last few years, has always been our fave, tonight was different. Menu has changed, prices have increased more than expected and the cook on our steak was incorrect making my husband and oldest daughter sick. The portions are even smaller than what they were before and we left still hungry. Our server was really great though and went above and beyond. Unfortunately, I think it’s time to find a new place for our special dinners.

    I’m sad. With the menu change has come an embracing of all things brussel sprouts. Most of my meal was sprouts. The scallops had sand in every bite and for the first time my old fashioned was watered down…..service was soso…..This is literally the first time I’ve ever had a mediocre experience there, but with the menu changes-that INCREDIBLE chicken dish is gone-and the expense….

    It was a lovely Brunch celebrating our dear mother’s 97th birthday. The service was excellent as was the food. The only minor issue was the amplification of the singer was a bit loud making it hard for our elders to hear our conversations.

    We recently celebrated our One Year Anniversary at Blackshop Restaurant, and it was an absolutely delightful experience from start to finish. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted by the front hostesses and hosts. Their genuine smiles and friendly demeanor set the tone for the evening. The service throughout the evening was exceptional. Our waitress was attentive and knowledgeable, providing excellent recommendations and ensuring that we had everything we needed. The manager also checked in on us, further enhancing our dining experience. The staff went above and beyond to make our anniversary celebration feel truly special. The food was nothing short of impressive. Each dish we ordered was beautifully presented and full of flavor. The chef's attention to detail was evident in every bite. From the appetizers to the main course, every dish showcased expert culinary craftsmanship. To top it all off, Blackshop Restaurant surprised us with a couple complimentary desserts to commemorate our anniversary.     Beautiful restaurant with very comfortable seating. Went for brunch and the food was outstanding as was the service. A soloist was providing music with vocals and guitar, what a lovely accompaniment to our meal.

    Service personnel were excellent and very attentive. Beef tenderloin was over cooked. Brussel sprouts were very hard. Gnocci was excellent and pickerel was OK. Carrott cake Ok and Creme Brule average for our tastes. Bread plate was very good but had to pay extra. Asked for a quiet area due to hearing issues but it ended up a very busy area and the music in the main room was rather loud. Would have been a bigger problem in that room. Like the restaurant but this was not our best experience and the food is not inexpensive so we expect more in terms of quality.

    We have been dinning at the Blackshop for awhile, whether it be lunch, brunch or dinner. Monday night we have a reservation for 8 people. We were seated but then service took a bit long but it was fine as we were having a great time. Our apps that we ordered were wonderful, scallions, charcuterie board and caesar salad, which a very tiny portion and not as good as what I was hoping it would be. Most of us ordered the Beef Tenderloin that came with a delicious side of potatoes & sautéed onions but unfortunately hardened, not cooked brussel sprouts, all 3 dishes were the same. The Gnocchi that my sister-in-law ordered was a very small dish and not very tasty. Sadly, for the price of $750 and the quality of food, I was quite disappointed.

    I used to say the best Lamb Chops in the region but tonight we experienced their new menu which now includes Lamb Shank!!! WOW This cozy restaurant has left the best impressions! Hospitable hosts, delicious dishes, beautiful presentation, wide wine list and wonderful dessert. I recommend to everyone! I will come back here again and again

    It was a very odd experience. I have been to the Blackshop many times and have always enjoyed my experience. I actually considered it my favorite restaurant in Cambridge. Times have changed. It was extremely loud which made having a conversation difficult. The fish served at the table next to us was extremely pungent. The only fish on the menu was halibut and Mahimahi. Neither fish, if fresh, smells. When clearing the table next to us, they dropped the bottle of cleaning solution on the floor covering my shoes and pants. No one from the restaurant bothered to comment to us on the situation. I ordered the pork tenderloin. It was tasty but the portion was small.

    We had a later reservation and still everything was amazing from start to finish any staff we interacted with were polite, friendly, and enthusiastic making even being the last couple in the restaurant feel very welcome my wife and I decided to celebrate our anniversary here and it happened to be date night at the restaurant so there was live music on the restaurant side which made the already awesome atmosphere even better as the food came out we could only be happier with each course Andrea was our server she was great seemed to always be close by whenever we needed anything and the kitchen staff deserve a round of applause food was amazing from apps to dessert and everything in between all around 5 star service most definitely will be making the trip again to enjoy the black shop dining experience Thanks again for helping us celebrate our special day

    It was fine, really nice atmosphere and live music during brunch was lovely. But for the price the portion sizes were very small and the food was not nearly impressive enough to make the cost worth it. Unfortunate as the actual service, place and menu were great.
