We had a 12:15pm reservation. Weren’t seated until 1:08pm. We waited in the bar area and were told they’d let us know when the table was ready. My husband went to check on our table after a while and found out they’d given it away. Disappointed in how long we had to wait given that we had a reservation. Other than that, we had a pleasant time.

Food was good. We ended up getting tucked away in a side room that had no view. The server was great. Not the best room for a first-time visit to the Black Wall Hitch. I like the restaurant though.

Was an opentable roulette choice for V-day dinner. Totally amazed by the prie fix menu choices, our party tried all the choices of the four courses... all AMAZING! quite an enjoyable spot.

We went there for the first time for a prix fixe dinner on Valentine's Day. The food in each of the four courses was very good but the service quite spotty. Our waitress was slow to arrive initially, and then mostly absent the rest of the meal. The soup arrived without a spoon and the waitress quickly ran off before we noticed. We had to ask for bread. When the water bottle on our table was empty, we had to ask for another. The house staff were very friendly with each other -- they congregated most of the evening by a wait station in the back near the kitchen laughing and talking -- but our waitress spoke in a rote, automatic-response voice when talking with us. Not once did she appear spontaneously and ask if we needed anything or how the meal was. In a restaurant where dinner for two with wine is nearly $200, such lackadaisical service is unacceptable. I don't think we'll be going back.

Valentine’s Day dinner & we were not told about the fixed menus beforehand. This was not on the website or mentioned when reservations were made. Very disappointing. While potions were generous food was not what was expected from previous visits. Sad

Great meal (lunch/valentines day) at Blackwall Hitch last week. First time there and I was impressed. Menu had lots of great options to choose from and prices were reasonable. Food portions were on the large side, and the "Flat Bread" I ordered was very good. Wife had cobb salad which was also good. Blackwall Hitch doesn't have a view of the water but it does have a nice atmosphere inside and service was excellent. Booth seating is ample along with a nice bar in front section of restaurant.

We had a wonderful Valentine's Day lunch at Blackwall Hitch!! Our waitress was outstanding!! She was very knowledgeable about the menu and went out of her way to meet every need. She even treated us to dessert!! What a great choice we made and we'll most certainly return.

Steak was over cooked. Mashed potatoes weren’t even warm. Taste of everything was good. I will give it a second chance. Nice place overall. Three course surf and turf for 28 bucks so I guess it was worth the trip. Soup was excellent as were the scallops.

Definitely go!! Great food, timely & friendly service. That hostess, though... we were 5 minutes late for our reservation because the parking was absurdly small & we had to walk a bit. The hostess sharply told us our table had been given away! We had to wait another 10 minutes & were sat at a wet booth. The male host was far more helpful and polite, I'd try to stick with him next time!

Had an amazing meal! Food and service were outstanding! The managers are constantly walking around the dining rooms, interacting with guests. Our waitress Hillary was fabulous. Will be back again!

This restaurant is attractive and service was excellent. The food was good but not warm enough. We were enjoying our friends and did not decide to send it to back to warm up. Other than that we liked it a lot.

Four of us sat for the Sunday brunch at a 12:30 reservation. With no extras and a 20% tip, the bill came to $178.00. That was expected. What was unexpected was the limited selection of foods, empty food bins that took 20 minutes to restock, lack of spoons for the soup, long lines (15+) for omelets and (5-6) waffles, and the general "below average" feel we walked away with when we left there. We will not be returning.

This was my second time at Sunday Brunch with friends. The food is delicious and the mimosas are pretty good and continually flowing. I will definitely visit again.

I am OBSESSED with Sunday brunch at Blackwall Hitch. I just recently moved back to the area and I’ve been EVERY Sunday since I’ve been back! Bottomless mimosas are a plus, but those oysters and the French toast are the bomb!

Really enjoyed this restaurant. Service was great! Food was very good. Loved the crab cakes, fish tacos were good too. Only con is, it was a little loud due to music and people talking but that won't stop me from going back. Prices were reasonable. Overall great place.

Wow what a disappointing experience. Must have been an off night for this place since there are other decent reviews, but we have no desire to return.

Tried the Chef's special and the steak was completely raw on the inside ( we like rare meat too- but there is a difference in texture and this was raw). We politely mention this to the waiter and they sort of take care of the problem - they take away the steak and bring it back-the same one - its pieces now cooked to oblivion. But by this point everyone else was finished, the meat didn't taste very good ( I guess they overcorrected), so it was left barely touched. We were surprised no effort was made to take the expensive item off our bill, replace it, or offer any kind of corrections effort.
The other meals we tried were OK, but I was surprised more effort and customer service wasn't involved. It's like they were barely paying attention to us and were mildly annoyed that we mentioned the meat was raw.
The bathrooms also had long lines as many of the stalls were out of order.
Just wasn't a great experience and you expect more when you spend nearly $100 per couple.

This was my first visit to Blackwall Hitch. I went with my best friend and 14-year old nephew for Sunday brunch, and I truly enjoyed my visit. First, we arrived for our reservation on time, and we were seated immediaately. The quality of the food was very good, our server Roberto was excellent, and the value for the food and bottomless mimosas was excellent. The waffles were buttery and crispy, the omelets were perfectly cooked, the roast beef was cooked exactly to medium rare, the pork roast, biscuits and gravy, steamed shrimp, sausage and bacon were all very tasty. I look forward to coming back for dinner!

The restaurant was extremely busy. We had a 6:30pm reservation and weren't seated until after 7pm. Our server Bryan was great and the food was good. Unfortunately it was so loud in the restaurant that it was impossible to hear the person sitting across from you. I'd go back but not on a weekend.

We took out of town guests to Blackwall Hitch and it was a hit with them as it is routinely with us. From flaming crab dip to start to fanatastic chef special -- we split between scallops and crab and all enjoyed. The salted caramel hot chocolate was a wonderful dessert drink on a cold night. We'll be back for sure.
