We love to come here! Great atmosphere and good food! I just wish they had ample/sufficient parking for it's many guests!!
The atmosphere was nice, parking was a bit tight. We were lucky that someone was leaving as we came around the lot but you may have to park across the street or a little down the way. Other than that, it was a great experience and I’ll likely go back again. Flavors were good, dessert was surprisingly good; the s’mores molten lava cake exceeded expectation. Recommend the Blackwall shrimp as an appetizer and the house-made spiked lemonades.
The cream of crab (Chef’s special) was excellent! Food and ambiance A+. Service was pretty good too, except we didn’t have plates when the appetizers came.
We were seated a half hour after our scheduled reservation even though we arrived on time. Staff couldn’t be bothered. Food and service mediocre at best.
Food was good...lighter than other area restaurants . Just be prepared for the noise! A bit hard to talk for our group. Wait staff was pleasant and let us visit with drinks first but agreed with us it was hard to hear each other.
Food was very good and so was the service. It is very noisy. So if you need to hear each other I would find a quieter place.

We arrived on time for our 6:45 p.m. reservation. After waiting about a half an hour, we were asked if we would like to be seated on the upper deck. I asked how hot it was up on the deck. Our hostess assured us there was a nice breeze. We went to the upper deck which had was very casual, somewhat loud with music playing, and stifling hot. It was nothing like the restaurant downstairs in that it had no ambience and was like being on a cheap bar deck. After sitting on the deck for several minutes, we quickly realized that this wasn’t going to work for us
given that we had younger children, including one who was
injured. I returned to the hostess station and told our hostess that it didn’t work and we needed a table in the main dining hall. She told us that it would be a few more minutes wait. She then returned and told us that our table was being cleared. I pointed to a table in the main dining hall which was being set and asked her if that was our table. She told us it was. We were then approached by a manager who told us that we could sit at the bar stools at the oyster bar and that if we didn’t take it, we would have to wait a very long time. I told him that wouldn’t work and that we were told that the table in the main dining hall which I pointed to was our table. He got very defensive and argumentative when I tried to explain to him my frustration of having to wait so long despite having a reservation made 3 weeks ago. I explained to him that we were told we had a table in the main dining room. After we were finally seated, our waiter did not approach our table for another 15 minutes. However, after that, he was very attentive. The food was excellent, and we had a lovely meal once we finally got seated and waited on. I am very disappointed by the poor experience being seated, especially given we had reservations and a young child with an injury. The management staff was insensitive, rude, and not accommodating.
A great birthday experience and they accommodated our request to sit outside.
Great place. I only have two issues. First, when I made the reservations I said it was my anniversary and that we wanted to sit on the roof deck. The staff did read or forgot my request. Second, our food wasn’t very hot. Taste and quality was excellent. I felt like it maybe wasn’t brought to our table as soon as it should be. Other than that we had a great dinner.
I have been to your Virginia and Annapolis location. I would definitely go back and recommend your Virginia location. The food at your Virginia location was excellent. Annapolis, there was no crab meat in the Maryland crab soup, the flaming crab dip was on the salty side, my salmon and shrimp was over cooked.
The Sunday Brunch was great, especially loved crab and shrimp omlettes made to order. Our server Sydney was engage and very attentive. Outdoor dining was awesome.
We loved the food, but the portion size on the tuna appetizer was definitely lacking. The tuna app had 5 very tiny slivers of tuna and was not cheap. Service was GREAT!!
We had a fabulous dinner. The French Fry Flight was fun and flavorful. The steak salad was just right for a light eater. The Trident platter was very generous. The Crab chowder was the best we've ever had. We'd go back! Highly recommend!
Wonderful Sunday brunch. A wide array of food choices and the bottomless mimosas were great.
After a so-so visit a few weeks ago - when we went early - and the manager called a meeting with the wait staff - during our meal - and caused us to be late for something else - and hence we missed having birthday dessert for our 8 year old daughter - and was quite angry - we returned for a repeat visit. Food was great. The scallops were outstanding, on a tasty bed of risotto. Blue Point oysters were great - ready for horseradish/cocktail or vinegar accompaniment. Fry 'flight' was really tasty. The rolls, which I don't remember last time - were - the - bomb. Awesome. With an herb butter that was outstanding. I still kick myself for not taking the rolls home. Great drinks - and beers. Little pricey, but good.
Enjoyed my meal, and service was good too.
The hostess could be a little more skilled in overall customer interface skills.
We were 15 minutes early for our reservation at 7:15pm and told her we’d go to the bar, she seemed frantic to seat us. Clearly a wait on weekend with walk ins. It was my boyfriends birthday which I noted on reservations. They had a lovely dining area, beautifully lite a on a beautiful sunny day however she sat us in the extremely dark lounge area not at all where I expected to be seated. I then asked about deck and she said first come for deck area. If I make a reservation for dinner I expect to be seated in dining room not dark black lounge area off the bar. If you can’t make sure every dining experience is equal for your diners via reservation don’t take them on Open table! I also watched candles on desserts go out to tables but no candle on our dessert nor did Brian ask if it was a special occasion. Wouldn’t recommend after being highly recommended due to these very obvious things that occurred. Ruined it for me. Ps they should lose the lounge area. I felt like I was dining in the dungeon compared to Disney area with bright lighting, white chairs and the proper lighting for reading a menu and a finer dining experience. Lighting was atrocious for reading your menu!
We had a decent experience here early on a Saturday. This restaurant tries hard but misses here and there. Bottom line is the food is very good. The softshell crabs were delicious and the scallops on risotto were tasty. The watermelon gazpacho was fresh and perfect for the hot weather. We enjoyed our cocktails as well.
They missed on timing. We were there on a Saturday around 5:30pm and the place was mostly empty. We had not even finished our initial cocktails (we’re not slow eaters) and they had dropped off appetizers, a salad and our main courses. We sat at the wine bar so I got to watch the kitchen. They started preparing my main course before my salad was delivered. So I got to watch my scallops sit under the heat lamp for almost 10 minutes as the expediter waited for the mistimed softshell crabs from the fry cook. The scallops were still warm and not overcooked so I was fine with not sending them back.
We felt rushed and let the staff know that. We had only be seated 25 minutes and the appetizers were just finished, salad had been started, and our entrees were delivered. Also, I was looking forward to the Greek salad with beefsteak tomato (stated on the menu) but it unfortunately showed up with halves of grape tomatoes. Not Greek at all!
We had to wait 5 minutes at the door before anyone showed up to seat us, and two other parties. We had booked on OpenTable and it was a special occasion. It’s the first time a restaurant didn’t acknowledge that as part of the booking.
Rebecca was our server and she was good. I also appreciate Matt (the GM) taking my comments seriously, offering to reorder my main course, and the apology from the server.
Great food and great service. Love this place. The crafted drinks are priced a little high for Annapolis. Outside of that, cute cozy place for date night and evening dinner.
The staff were amazing! Good beyond delicious! Cocktails delish! I’m definitely coming back. I found my new love!
And the live music was perfect.

Service was good, the food wasn’t prepared the way we ordered it. Thankfully the waitress was kind and helpful, she made sure the error was corrected.

Our crew of five really enjoyed the experience - staff was great, service was good, and food was excellent. We were lucky to be there for half-priced bottles so ordered a chardonnay and a pinot. Everyone was happy. A great night out in Annapolis.
I usually love this place. But this time it was SO LOUD and I couldn’t hear myself think, let alone catch up with friends. The waitress was very nice though and apologized for the noise. The food was okay, but not worth the prices. Probably won’t be returning for brunch.
My wife and I have been to Blackwall Hitch several times and have had an excellent experience each time. From the free parking in a congested town, to the service and of course the food and drinks... all made for a very nice Anniversary dinner.

Delicious. We got the soft shell crab sandwich and the California hamburger. Both delicious. One of the best burgers I have ever had.!

Our waitress was great. However the kitchen was sold out of several items. We assumed a bread basket was included with our meal as our server tried to get us one, however we were told they were “out of bread.” She then Tried to get us whatever bread was left and we were charged for it. Which is absolutely ridiculous. We have dined here several times, I even had a private party here once and I can say this time was not the best. Seemed like things were not on point especially for a Sunday.
We really enjoyed our visit to Blackwall Hitch in Eastport on our recent visit to Annapolis. The food was delicious, and the waitress deftly handled our party of 7 (with 3 exuberant children) with grace and humor. We would definitely return for another visit if we're in the area again.
The convenience of the on-site parking and the location near the bridge leading over the river to the downtown area was also much appreciated.
Group of friends tried this place for the first time for a quick outing. The place is very nice and we were given a private room for our party. Our server was awesome and was on top of all of our orders. Drinks were good but a little pricey. The appetizers were delicious and the warm rolls are amazing! Each of us really enjoyed our food and only a few doggie bags went home lol. I will definitely be coming back here again!

Excellent service. It's the reason I keep coming back. Sitting on the deck up top is so relaxing. The servers up there (Bryan, Christopher...I didn't catch everyone else's names) were fantastic. We never had to ask for anything. Super pleasant. Can't wait to have brunch here again!
The staff was so accommodating, and the table we had was perfect. The outdoor seating was gorgeous with the weather and the food was PERFECT. Everything tasted wonderful and came out just in time. My favorite were the Brussels sprouts because who doesn't love a good brussel sprout! And the rissotto as I have never been able to find a restaurant that does theirs without mushrooms. So tasty! It It was a great date night, and we definitely will be returning again for another.
This was my first time at Blackwall Hitch and I will be back! My husband and I met friends for a get together and had a wonderful time! The service from the host stand, waitstaff all the way to management was superb. We sat in the bar area and our server Michael Freeman was outstanding! I suggest the Jalapeno Margarita, they are dangerously delicious!
