Very nice atmosphere. Menu was uncomplicated. Dinner was delicious. We tried the wine special - a Spanish rose cava like offering that was very good. Waitress was helpful, efficient and unobtrusive. Overall very nice and we will return.
As always, food and service are consistently excellent. One of my favourite places to eat in Calgary.
Only one comment was the ventilation in the private room could be better, it was stuffy in there but everything else was great.
Food was beautiful and amazing. We had the beef tartar as an appetizer, wow!! One of the best we’ve had. I had the duck breast, it was memorable and delicious. My husband had the pork belly and loved it. Although the food was top notch, we both agreed that a little more food on the plate would be better. Service was great!!
Really enjoyed my experience at Blink. Kevin was fantastic as a server. Really knowledgeable about wine. I liked the upbeat music playing. Made for a great Friday lunch! Agnolotti was amaaaazing!
Lovely venue, but I did not find the food to be exceptional and especially don't recommend it for dining with children. The waitstaff appeared annoyed by our well-behaved toddler's presence, and they don't supply high chairs, or allow you to clip one on to the table. The cocktails, wine, and cheese plate were excellent, but I found the entrees to be underwhelming for their price.
Fantastic food, served very quickly and hot. Attentive service, just the right amount. Engaging staff, immediate greeting at the door. My fav place on 8th Ave.
Great service and great food! Kevin was a great server- thank you!
Service was very slow and too over priced for small portions
Very good service & top notch food. Pricey based on portion size.
It was our anniversary and the only two tables they had available for us were by the front door were it was busy and drafty.
We asked the server Mark if we could have the YYC food and drink feature for dinner but not be served one of the soups. He said no substitutions but we rebutted and said it wasn’t we just don’t want it and will still pay. He was to quick to react and didn’t listen but got it in the end. The rest of the service was adequate but he wasn’t very personable.
As for the decor the light above us still had a dead dragonfly in it with a lot of other bugs and it was March!!! There was burnt out lights in the men’s washroom and missing grout on tiles on the stairs. Makes you wonder if they can’t keep the maintenance up on the front facing stuff what’s happening in the back of house.
Also what’s the point of listing that it was our anniversary when no one made mention of it at the restaurant or did anything special. Seems like it is just data collection and doesn’t translate to the customer service side of the business.
Overall great food but needs work on the other items.
We reserved a table for lunch. The ambience is lovely but we were disappointed in the food. My quiche was a generous portion, but it did not have the consistency of being properly cooked plus there was no cheese in the filling. My friend ordered the tortellini and felt her portion was small and the dish was rather tasteless.
We had dinner here before a theatre show and would definitely have dinner here again. The atmosphere is welcoming, with very friendly and professional staff. Our server helped us pick wine for our meal and found him very knowledgeable. My husband and I are vegetarian and had the mushroom agnolotti, which was delicious.
NICE PLACE. OUR FIRST TIME HERE. WE ARE VEGAN AND CONTACTED THEM AHEAD OF TIME SINCE THE MAIN MENU DIDN'T OFFER ANYTHING. WE HAD A RESPONCE INDICATING LOTS OF VEGAN OPTIONS LOTS THAT COULD BE MADE VEGAN WHEN WE ARRIVED ADN ASKED FOR THE VEGAN OPTIONS WE WER OFFERED A SALAD AND ONE MAIN DISH? TOO BAD . NICE PLACE BUT IF WE KNEW ONLY ONE OPTION WE WOUDL HAVE EITHER DESIDED TO GIVE IT A TRY OR PASS. WE TOOK A CARE SERVICE SO WE WERE BASICALLY EATING HERE NOW REGARDLESS OF THE OFFERINGS.
Loved it! Had the tasting menu for YYC Food & Wine Expo
This restaurant seldom misses a beat. The food is different and delicious. The wine list is extensive with good selections by the glass. The service is polished and timed beautifully.
Thank you for another wonderful lunch.
Thanks again for the great service. I proposed to my girl friend and she said yes. Love that you all gave me champagne after. Thank you so much.
Way too expensive for what we got. Nice place. Also not a great variety of food
It is one of the best restaurants in town. Food, environment and hospitality deserve 100% points.
Our dinner was perfection from start to finish. The service was great as well. There is nothing I would have different.
I had the squash veloute and mushroom agnolotti and my boyfriend had the octopus and perch. Dessert was sticky toffee pudding. Overall a wonderful meal!
Great evening, service on par, food was decedent! Enjoyable place to spend a cold Saturday evening!
Great food and great service.
We were seated by the window, and a really cold draft was coming from there. It was -30 celsisus so, that explians it. They were aware of that and they had some blankets that my wife used during dinner. By the end of the dinner i was basically cold as i refused to use the blanket. Because of that our whole experience was not as expected.
I would go back there whenever it is not cold outside.
Excellent service and delicious food, will be back.
Our server was amazing and that was the highlight of the experience. Food was mediocre. Won’t go back.
Food was outstanding, and great wine selection with good knowledge and recommendations. Service was slow at the start. Looked like a staffing issue that picked up after some more wait and service staff arrived later in the evening.
Excellent restaurant serving local produce, nice place good staff good wine list. I'd like to see more variety on the menu since it hasn't changed but then again all the choices are great. Good place to go for a nice quiet good meal pared with a decent wine.
Blink is my new favourite restaurant in Calgary. The food, atmosphere and service are all exquisite. I'll definitely be back.
Excellent food and service with a large wine list that has something for everybody.
Very knowledgeable server and enjoyed the food.
Always amazing food. Great wine selection. Had 3 different wait staff and after initial slow service when there were very few people in the restaurant it got better.
Excellent overall experience. Only comment would be that I left a voice mail asking to be quick at the end and while the waiter was excellent and efficient ( Kevin ), I do not believe they listened to my email. Not sure how you would connect an online booking with a voicemail message but there you go! Thank you for the wonderful food and wine.
Well prepared, well plated, well served food in a lovely room.
We live north of St Albert, so don't get to Calgary very often. This restaurant tends to be a favourite stop for us anytime we are in Calgary. Our latest recent visit did not disappoint. We invited another couple to join us and it was an incredibly relaxed environment with amazing food. We had a great meal and the service was attentive and prompt, yet unintrusive. We enjoyed our evening very much and the meal was incredible at every stage from appetizers to dessert. We would highly recommend this restaurant and it remains one of our very favourite stops in Calgary. Have never been disappointed.
The setting was very comfortable with a elegant atmosphere. The staff was helpful and on point. The portion was just about right with the level of richness. The Pork Belly was well presented and elegant. A wonderful balance with the suggested wine and the meal.
We will be going back.
Everything about our dining experience was exceptional. The service is attentive as each server picks up the others’ duties to keep things responsive & flowing. The food is excellent and the flavours on each dish intermingle well (olives, ham hicks terrine, duck breast & stuffed mushroom/lamb ravioli). The wine list has something for everyone...we had 2 classes of a good chianti. I highly recommend making this a dining stop while in downtown Calgary.
A high degree of difficulty menu executed perfectly. Great attention to detail down to the wonderful fresh bread. Will be back.
Good service and thorough knowledge of food and wine. Was an enjoyable dinner and will visit again
We had a lovely dinner with friends and plan to go back on a date night very soon!!
A gem in downtown Calgary. Staff very friendly and attentive. Food was creative, well presented and very tasty. One concern is that the menu has rather limited choices. Sticky toffee pudding for desert...YUM! At least you can hear others you are dining with...did not have the TGIF yelling crowd....or was significantly muted compared to other nearby restaurants. Would definitely return.
Had the same waiter as every other time - he was great and the food was too. Loved every part of the evening.
