Fantastic! Food was superb, service was great. Highly recommend this restaurant! After dinner, be sure to check out Bar Annabelle's for an after dinner Scotch.
A very good and stylish restaurant with a great wine list and impeccable service. The menu is well thought out and interesting, but the dishes themselves are missing a little bit of an edge that would live up to the promise offered by the descriptions.
Anniversary dinner - meal was excellent!
Excellent experience! The food was delicious and the service and ambience was wonderful. Great wine, delicious warm olive appetizer. All of our meals were fantastic in taste and presentation, and the dessert/ coffee afterwards was divine. They have a large bar selection, but did not carry Crown Royal which seemed odd, however we ended up all having wine which was lovely.
We arrived at 6 pm and it was not busy at all so noise was not an issue. It did get a louder as the evening progressed but it was still very reasonable and the high ceilings help with this.
Perfect lighting as well - not too dark or bright.
When we arrived at the restaurant it was empty which makes some sense as it was early. It was very cold in the restaurant. The menu was small and none of the appetizers appealed to us so we just ordered a main course and a glass of wine. We ordered halibut with buckwheat risotto which was $38. When the meal arrived there was fairly small piece of halibut and a small serving of buckwheat risotto and strips of zucchini. The halibut and topping was so salty it was hard to eat and the risotto was tasteless. Needless to say we did not enjoy our meal and did not try a dessert . As you can imagine we did not enjoy our experience at Blink.
We had a great experience from start to finish! Service was attentive, but not intrusive from start to finish. Excellent entrees and and fabulous wine list. Can’t go wrong with this place.
Too expensive for such small portions of food. The tomato salad was 15 dollars and was literally 3 bites!!! You will end up paying 50 dollars or more and will leave the place still hungry. The place is a rip off in disguise ( fine dining)
The service was excellent. Although I had an idea of what I wanted for a wine and after dinner drink, the server politely was able to suggest much better alternatives. His approach and suggestions were greatly appreciated. The server and chef worked together to get me a gluten free alternative for the duck which I really enjoyed.
My wife very much enjoyed her meal as well.
The only small suggestion for improvement is the octopus appetizer had a bit too much arugula on it loosing a bit of the taste of the octopus.
From arrival, we were greeted by friendly staff. Seated at a front table with a great view of the street out the window, we felt like we were in a quiet corner of a European scene. As a group of women, all of whom at various times have experienced less than ideal service when no male counterpart is present, we were attended to superbly, unobtrusively, respectfully.
With thanks for a wonderful evening
This was the second time here and we weren't disappointed the staff is attentive without being in the way. The food is great and its a good location. An extensive wine list if a little pricey but the selections are excellent.
Excellent venue, food, and atmosphere. A little on the pricey side though.
Very relaxed enjoyable evening.
Food was great but service was unacceptable. Waitress didn’t even smile or ask whether we want a separate check at the end.
I was disappointed in the kitchen's ability to adapt for dietary needs. The first time there was lots of room for changes but these past two times have been the opposite. Eating with celiac's one time and a no dairy person the next there was one appetizer available, one main course and no desserts. This hardly makes for an enjoyable dinner outing for those who are diet challenged.
Perhaps the kitchen is trying to reduce the overall cost of a menu during this economic downturn but the possibility for options in such a high end restaurant should be improved.
All around amazing experience at Blink. We ended up booking late and staying until shortly after the place was closed which we felt bad about, but despite the poor planning on our end, hostess was incredibly nice and personable, giving great recommendations. The food was fantastic. It's definitely a pricier place, but it is 100% worth it for a special occasion or on a date when you're looking to impress.
This was the 2nd time I've been to Blink and this time I was finally able to enjoy the duck breast as they ran out last time. I was not disappointed.....The entree accompaniments were creative and very well presented. Will be back again.
While the food was god, the service was just okay. The restaurant was freezing and although we asked them to turn down the air conditioning, it only got colder. Hard to enjoy the meal when you are really cold.
The services was intermittent given the pace of the restaurant and the food was bland and did not taste well. I'd pass up going back to this restaurant.
Great food. And we had an amazing server. He was very knowledgeable and personable. We will be back.
I am happy with my dining experience at Blink. Food was very good and staff with very nice.
very good food in a quiet ambiance. Great for business meals.
Food was good - I had the halibut and my friend had the chicken. Service was attentive.
An overall outstanding dining experience beginning with the seating and ending with dessert. Staff were courteous, friendly and knowledgeable about both the menu and the wine. The food was superb. I would definitely recommend (and have done so already) this restaurant to friends.
Phenomenal food and incredible service. My boyfriend and I went for a romantic date, and as soon as we walked in the doors we were in aw. The art, the employees, the feng shui was spectacular. We will definitely be returning as well as recommending to friends and family. Outstanding restaurant. Could not be more pleased with overall food and service that we received the whole evening through.
In town for the weekend and we made this a top spot to visit. Restaurant is very aesthetically pleasing, food and wine were amazing, service was even better. Definitely must try this place!
From 7 diferentes dishes 3 were super and 4 were average. Service and personel was outstanding
Dined on a Saturday night which was also St. Paddy’s. Restaurant was only half full. The food and service were quite good but didn’t justify the prices. At first blush the maths didn’t make sense but considering Calgary’s jump in property taxes as well as Alberta’s new minimum wage hike, perhaps this is the new reality?! We might just celebrate at home next time.
Awesome dining experience, it's good to see a great restaurant surviving in the downtown core.
Lunch was excellent as always. Never disappointed.
Way too long to receive our meal
Had to move afternoon meetings
We’ve been long time customers and fans of Blink. This outing didn’t disappoint and we were able to take advantage of the Dine Out week fixed menu. Amazing meal!
The food was really great, good location, and nice atmosphere. Its just too bad that the poor service left everyone with a bad taste in their mouth. It wasn't very busy, maybe 6 tables seated, so the servers did not look busy. Staff looked very blasé and service was very slow. We sat there for an excessive amount of time without drinks after we had ordered them. It was especially long before the server took our food order. I actually had to waive her over and ask if she could take our order because our entire group was actually starting to become somewhat anxious at the fact that we had been there for so long and she hadn't even come over and taken our order yet. It was about 35 minutes in before she took the food order. It was obviously a corporate lunch, and with that, service should be prompt to get groups in and out. Someone else in our group had to waive her over and ask for dessert menus/coffees too. And again I also had to waive over for a sugar for the coffee because no sugar was brought with it. Its too bad that the poor service dampened the experience and made everyone late getting back to work. Its unfortunate because we were there to celebrate, and people are still talking about the poor service at work the next day.
Awesome as always- great food, presentation and service.
The Big Taste Menu was fabulous and what a great value! My only disappointment was with the dessert. It was really rich and heavy dark chocolate. It really needed something to cut the sweetness. The service was fabulous! Very attentive and efficient. The ambience was perfect for an intimate dinner, great for conversation.
The menu is small but varied with local produce. The preparation and presentation was excellent. Butter lettuce salad with the Short Rib paired with an Argentina Cab Franc. The other diners started with the Mushroom soap and said it was great, both the Chicken and the Pork Belly were well presented and excellent taste. Overall a very good restaurant and we'll visit it again.
Came for The Big Taste menu and every course was fantastic! Would definitely go back.
Myself and a date are at Blink and ordered the Arctic Char as well as Pork dish from the big taste menu. Amazing food, attentive wait staff and good ambience. Will be back!
Reservation made for birthday celebration purposes. Meals were excellent, served hot and in a timely manner. Servers were attentive and courteous. Would recommend without hesitation.
Blink has amazing food and wines, and is great for a special occasion. I recommend ordering dessert, especially the sticky toffee pudding.
