Enjoy our fresh seasonal menu like our Sirloin Steak and Rack of Lamb.     We love Blu! We go there often. The service is always excellent, the food delicious, and the views are quintessentially urban. We have eaten here many times and each time we leave happy.

    Wonderful restaurant with great food. Views were fantastic. Service was amazing and Israel was knowledgeable about the menu. Husband had the Bolognese, and I had the Swordfish with lobster mashed potatoes with asparagus. Both were cooked perfectly and delicious.

    First they called us earlier in the day to make sure we were on time since our reservation was at 8:45pm and apparently the kitchen closed at 9pm. Then they call us AGAIN as we were walking in to make sure we were coming. We were 5 mins early for our reservation! I didn’t appreciate the harassment. Then they tried to sit us by the kitchen away from everybody else. The server saw my face said let me get you better table. The food was mediocre. I got a lemonaid that had no sugar in it and the duck break with was good but it was very small and they ruined the crispy skin by putting it sauce down. The gnocchi was only ok. My husband ordered the pork chop which they messed up and brought out the lamb. After waiting a while for his pork chop it was then overcooked and dry. I also got the bread pudding which was overcooked on the on top. Luckily the ice cream helped. We won’t be returning.

    It’s tough to get past the unpleasant first impression: getting off the elevator at the front desk of the Equinox gym and smelling the body odor. Blu is off to the side of the gym. Once we were seated, the experience was good. Reasonably priced wines by the bottle. Tasty fish tacos appetizer and entrees (cod for me, pork chop for my partner). The desserts were perfection: bread pudding & chocolate lava cake. Attentive and professional service. The server brought dessert on a special birthday plate with a candle for our birthday celebration—a nice touch. Views of the city are great but the location in equinox is odd. Have to use a code to enter the restrooms, outside the restaurant, in the gym foyer. Not a huge deal, just unusual and detracts a bit from the ambiance.

    Service was great!! The food was delicious I had the Swordfish with lobster mashed potatoes Delicious!! My husband had the Duck and my sister had the Salmon both also amazing!! We had a perfect seat looking right out at the Paramount. It was an over all great experience!!

    First time there and overall experience was good if not a quirky place. You enter through a vacant lobby from street to elevator up to 4th floor and through front entrance of gym. That wasn’t too bad but they were cleaning the floors of the lobby of the gym, so you had to make your way through the bleach smell. Not the way to start off for dinner. Nonetheless, you got past that to the restaurant reception area. Oddly, the restaurant only had two seated tables at when we arrived at 8pm—not the best sign of a good restaurant. Much later a couple other tables arrived, but it was far from busy for a Saturday night—again a bit worrisome. While there was one waiter serving all three tables, there was other waitstaff help, and our waiter was excellent. The staff overall was friendly and attentive. Our waiter had excellent skill, impeccable timing, and made us feel like we were welcome and the only ones there. The menu isn’t super extensive but is well representative for seafood, chicken, red meat, and vegan. We didn’t indulge in the appetizers, but the entrees we selected were very good and included sides. The portions were large, and the meals were well prepared. I had the rack of lamb, and while lean and tender with a nice wine reduction sauce, it lacked a bit more flavor. Perhaps a little more seasoning and salt would have brought out more of the taste of the lamb? Prices were a bit expensive, in my opinion, but not outrageous. You’re paying for the location—a block off Boston Common, next to the Ritz—but mostly for the view. It’s perched 4 floors up with an extensive glass ceiling and huge windows overlooking the Paramount Theatre and streets below. Great view, especially at night, with all the neon. Overall, I’d recommend it. Whether a special occasion or business dinner, I think you’d be satisfied. The service was the outstanding part, with the view of course. If the food could live up to that excellence, then maybe it would be too busy?

    My wife and I spent the evening at Blu yesterday and had an outstanding overall experience there. We said at a table overlooking Washington Street and seeing the theaters and Downtown Crossing from this angle is a beautiful view. Food and service were excellent and we were well attended to and well taken care of. Drinks from the bar we're delicious as was the chocolate dessert we shared. This restaurant has a wonderful ambience and offers a quiet, elegant retreat from the downtown bustle.

    Very nice food in a beautiful setting! Tables a bit close to each other. Food very good but perhaps not up to the prices (but I get you're paying for the view). Good wait staff. Overall a great pre-theater option.

    My wife and I had a very nice dinner. I had duck breast and my wife and the vegetarian dish. Both were very good. The service was excellent. Our waiter, Ham, did a very good job taking care of us. The meal was well paced. The portion size were well balanced. I came a way full but not stuffed. We did not need to take any food home with us. We arrived early enough to get a table by the two story window over looking Washing ton street towards the Opera House theatre. I would go back in the future. It is also very convenient to the Opera House where Broadway In Boston has its shows.

    Blu has become much more expensive at the same time that service and culinary quality has gone downhill. Service, because all staff seem to be new and less experienced. Food, because our two meals were both overcooked, resulting in dry chicken and dry swordfish. Too bad, because the original ingredients were likely of very high quality.

    My husband and I had a wonderful meal at Blu. I went online to find a restaurant close to the theater district, and wanted something nice before our show. Blue was just perfect. We started with the tapas appetizer. The lollipop lamb chops we so good, as well as the steak rolls, but the show stopper of this appetizer was the cod! It was amazingly delicious. Next, we ended up finally choosing the pork chop and the scallop dinners. We did a bit of a share and agreed we loved both choices. We finished with the brûlée. It was creamy, delicious and the perfect ending to a wonderful meal. I should mention that the drinks we fabulous too. I don’t often give a 5 star, but this was worth it! We went during daylight hours, however I want to go when it is dark and see the view of the theater district. It must be outstanding. It is a bit upscale in the price range, but I would not hesitate to go back.

    My husband and I celebrated our 33 wedding anniversary at Blu. We cannot say enough about the view, the service and the food. Everything was excellent. Our view was spectacular. We will be back.

    We took my parents to Blu to celebrate Moms Day and Christmas night out that had to be cancelled in January. We loved the modern decor and the table we sat at had great views. The hole place is windows and was really nice. Chris our waiter was great and everyone enjoyed their dinner choices. Drinks were fantastic also. :o)
