We especially appreciated that we could talk without straining to hear each other over music and patron noise. Lovely armosphere and very pleasant staff, delicious nicely presented food.
Great food, great service.
Exceptional service and food!
Soft live music provided a beautiful ambiance
Great service, well executed dishes, beautiful cozy restaurant. Highly recommend this restaurant
Everything was great. The only complaint I have is the food was over salted.
We love this restaurant, it was our first time here and we were looking for a place to celebrate. The staff were kind And attentive, however the best was the food.
Had completed a search of highly rated restaurants prior to booking this. Therefore our expectations were high.
We arrived nearly 30 mins early for our reservation and were promptly seated.
Through the foccacia to the Italian doughnuts , we never sought after service. They were all very attentive and prompt.
After hearing some good things about this restaurant I decided to try it during Winterlicious. The service and ambiance were good, however the food was poor. I ordered the beef carpaccio as my appetizer, it wasn't as flavourful as I expected it to be but it was still good. For dessert I ordered the blueberry panna cotta, it tasted just like any other panna cottas I've had in the past. For main I ordered the lamb shank, and it was one of the worst lamb shanks I've ever had. The meat was dry, bland, chewy and somewhat tasteless. The chef definitely slept through the cooking. It was not the kind of meat I was expecting at such a highly priced restaurant. Funny how the restaurant regards itself as one of the best Italian restaurants in Toronto. I will not recommend this restaurant to others nor will I return again.
We enjoyed the Winterlicious menu this past weekend. The ambience in the restaurant is lovely. Very warm and welcoming atmosphere. Comfortable seating and cozy. The menu was excellent. Especially appreciated the gluten free and vegan options on the menu. Everything was delicious. Our server was great...very attentive, informative, friendly and professional.
Excellent food, first class service, live music, what’s not to love about Blu?
Overall good experience; charcuterie platter was very good (all items suggested by our server). Wine selection very good, pricing as expected. I was disappointed with the flavours in my main dish (gnocchi), however; under seasoned and somewhat cold when it arrived. My sister's risotto dish was quite good, however.
My friends and I got together to take advantage of Toronto's Winterlicious and try out a new restaurant. The restaurant is cozy - not too loud but loud enough to comfortably host small groups. The Zuppa Del Giorno was a butternut squash and carrot puree, which was really tasty. My vegan main, a panelle, was good but didn't wow me by any means. I got raspberry sorbet for dessert and it was surprisingly creamy. As a vegan, it would have been more worthwhile to order off the regular menu. I appreciate their attempt to be inclusive by offering vegan options but was disappointed that a restaurant of this caliber would offer an overpriced set menu. Service was excellent.
We went down for winterlicious very nice ambiance, food was excellent, just not enough, when a meal says it comes with brussel sprouts, you do expect more than four slices which didnt amount to one whole sprout. $17.50 for a 5oz glass of house red wine is rather steep as well as the automatic gratuity of 18%. I am a generous tipper but dislike being told how much to give
Our waitress was phenomenal - attentive and personable.
I've been to Blu before and it was quite good, but this time the food was not up to par at all. The swordfish was overcooked and lacking in flavour, the pasta swimming in oil. The tuna tartare was the one exception - delicious. Blueberry biscotti for dessert was stale and dry! This is an expensive restaurant that should really do much better. Are they under different management perhaps? Disappointing.
Our server was amazing and couldn't do enough for us. Unfortunately the noise levels were very loud due to 2 large parties in the back but that's out of their control. Overall great experience
Based on reviews being “Best Italian” in Toronto, I didn’t see nearly enough on the menu to see that claim. Service was very good, food was good. Tables seemed to close together. Can’t say it was a great value.
Very nice. Best winterlicous dinner I had this year. Very large portion of food, friendly service and it’s delicious! Definitely will come back and recommend to friends. ❤️❤️❤️
Great live entertainment, seafood was great, salmon was cooked well taste was just ok.
Would go again but wouldn’t make a special trip
Disappointed. If the food (for the price) is not good value then why bother going there? Cesare salad was blaugh and saffron risotto was Ok. For the money, go somewhere else. On a positive note service was good and so was the ambiance
