Booked a birthday brunch here and had a simply great experience! Staff were incredibly friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The food was excellent- fresh, well thought out flavours and just tasty! We had the brunch burger (which like its lunch/dinner-time sibling was excellent) and the steak and eggs special of the day- all great! The brunch cocktails were also really fun! Brunch was SO good, we had to take some home and so we ordered the apple pie to-go and that on its own is another food review! I highly recommend this lovely spot!

MY Last visit at Blue duck taven was last December 2019 I love this restaurant its cozy and elegant it a special place to enjoy dinner with love ones with covid-19 hitting us I still had a lovely time under the new guidelines

I’ve been coming here for years. With the current situation it’s so very sad to see how BDT is operating so limited. Paper placemats. Items missing from menu. Ambiance. Etc. It really isn’t the same. I think with changes, limitations and standard changes.... pricing should reflect as sell. Being honest as I can since I’ve been a customer of your for many years. Ed Travers

We had our own glass enclosure and the wait staff wore masks so felt safe. The service and food were amazing. Lovely peaceful date night out!

The outdoor patio is in a nice sunny spot with heaters and plenty of room to social distance. Service impeccable, food, wine and drinks were delicious. One of the best in DC.

While staying at the Park Hyatt we had breakfast for 3 days and one dinner at the Blue Duck. Every meal was delicious, well-presented and service was excellent. Breakfast for 2 at $120 was well over the top in cost. So I wouldn’t say 5-star on value. Ambience was wonderful and covid safe with the outdoor seating. Indoors lacked warmth and definitely felt like a hotel restaurant. But I believe that was a factor of being cautious due to COVID. I’m pleased they kept tables distant and covid safe. All in all a great place to have a wonderful meal this winter.

The outdoor dining was so pleasant and so perfect for my friend's 75 birthday celebration...The evening was outstanding on ALL levels...and the birthday dessert given and served was so thoughtful! The Blue Duck is a favorite of mine and the Richard Nelsons who often visit DC still...We are hoping and planning for a dinner reunion at this restaurant sometime in January...Thank you to the staff and chef and management for making a wonderful evening! This was truly a shame. Cold crabcakes, cold scallops, gritty root vegetables, and pockets of raw flour in the bread. This definitely was not what I was expecting at Blue Duck Tavern. I had heard so many good things about this place. The highlight was the waiter, he made some nice drink recommendations that we enjoyed, and seemed to be a nice guy.

Booked in advance and were also guests at the Park Hyatt. Told everyone it was our 10th wedding anniversary. We were put in a dark corner while many others were in private rooms or sitting by fire towers outside. The door opening next to us for the patio meant we had to wear coats the entire meal. We were up sold on a whole duck (under the courtesy that it was the last one available) before we had a chance to see the menu. One in 50 couples might be able to eat a whole duck- it should only be recommended to groups of 3 or more. What’s worse is that the duck was dry. Our anniversary was forgotten. We spent money a crazy amount of money for a mediocre dinner with terrible ambiance. I was silly enough to expect that Blue Duck would be extra conscientious about caring for those people still willing to venture out for an occasional high class, expensive dining experience on a special occasion during COVID. Mistake.

Sitting outside next to the fountain was excellent. The heat lamps kept the space very comfortable despite the cold weather. The four-course menu with wine pairings was definitely the way to go despite the expense. I recommend the scallops and duck!

It was wonderful autumn day to enjoy breakfast on the terrace. Service was excellent. The glass of champagne provided a little celebratory moment. The Blue Duck Tavern is a favorite of mine when I’m in DC. I’ll be back to dine again.

From cocktail and appetizer through wine and main course and eventually ending the evening with dessert and espresso, the experience was relaxing and enjoyable. It had been a long day of travel to arrive in DC and the Blue Duck Tavern is a must first stop. While it was a little chaotic arriving at the start of evening service with people queuing up near the host, once seated on the terrace things immediately settled into the Blue Duck standard. Excellent service. Exquisite cocktail and premium wine. Extraordinary entree. And when my colleague was unable to make it, the Blue Duck helped prepare a “to-go” meal to take away. Lots of reasons one comes back time and again to the Blue Duck Tavern.

This was a great place for our one-year anni. The staff and experience was great, especially during covid times. We were greeted with champagne, enjoyed good food and lovely service. Ambiance is 10/10 for a romantic date night.

Great meal, great staff! We went for my husband's parents anniversary and everyone we encountered congratulated them on their anniversary which was a nice touch. We ended up ordering the whole duck and sharing it with a few appetizers. Highly recommended!

Food and service were very good. The salads were both tasty, colorful, and plentiful. The roasted halibut was excellent, as was the duck. The triple cut fries were huge and spicy. We would go back again.

The duck breast was very, very off. Had a chemical taste, vaguely of formaldehyde. Couldn’t eat it. Short rib was dry. Roasted vegetables were dry and under seasoned. Crab cake and potato purée were very good.

We went there for brunch and the French toast was melt-in-your-mouth! The short rib hash was to die for!! It was beautiful ambiance and atmosphere. The servers were excellent as well! 10/10 will go again!
