We were recommended to check out Blue Water Cafe and were not disappointed. The choices of fresh oysters was outstanding. we did there sampling of 5 pacific oysters. Each oyster was beautifully shelled and scrumptious. We also tried beef sashimi, and I had the dungeness crab salad. There is a black forrest dessert that is amazing with fresh cherries over a custard and chocolate base. Our server Melissa was really knowledgable and friendly. Overall it was a great experience.
We sat at the patio which was still charming but quite load. Food was great except one of the dishes was a bit deceiving, the menu said green beans with sesame oil and chilli and it came looking like it was more of a peanut sauce, still good. Baked scallops are a must!
Their reservation only have 5:15pm or 9:15pm, The Asia hostess yelled at us, you guys arrived 45mins late. The other cocasion hostess gave us a table, but just allow us to stay until 7:45pm.
I noticed that a lot of tables are available from 6 until 8:15pm when I left.
Hostess attitudes scare me.
2 persons pay our bill about $350 more, food quantity is very good.
Great dinner food was outstanding beautiful restaurant and Natasha was great. Very attentive and gave us excellent recommendations on what to order.
Your cannot dine in Vancouver without putting Blue Water Cafe on your restaurant list. This is one of our favorite all-time places. The restaurant just buzzes with excitement and happy people. The food and service is exceptional.
The Blue Water Cafe is outstanding. On the pricey side, but the perfectly-prepared gorgeous seafood, great wine list, and attentive knowledgeable service makes the price tag easier to swallow. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal there.
Always amazing service and exceptional food
Food was great, high quality and delicious. Service was good too.
We sat at the sushi bar - wonderful, fresh and creative in a fun and upbeat spot. Everything was fabulous - from oysters to sushi to great dessert to finish!
We had an outstanding meal. One thing was more delicious than the next and our waitress was tremendous. I highly recommend Blue Water Café.
I must say that overall I was highly impressed and agreed with the Yelp reviews for this restaurant. I ordered the Salmon Terrine and Sea Scallops. The fish was incredibly fresh however the Terrine was (in my opinion) rather lacking the addition of a cracker or bread. I liked the lighting in the restaurant however there seemed to be a problem with the air circulating (smoke from a burnt pan filled the air and took a while to dissipate). We ordered a box of macarons for a friend and the box did not come with a bag - I was offered a wine bag to bring them home in which was awkward. Yes, I am very picky. I know lol. But everything I have mentioned can be easily remedied and as in life, it is all about the little things that make lasting impressions.
Probably one of the worst dining experiences that I’ve had solely based on the server’s non existent service and ability to create an experience as expected.
I have eaten at Blue Water and other Toptable restaurants numerously and have always received excellent service/memorable experience however, this was not the case.
The server was barely attentive and felt hesitant to serve our table. Things were forgotten and was not checked up to ensure how the dining experience was going. Often found myself desperately looking/attempting to get the servers attention. To top everything off, my partner and I felt extremely judged and treated as if we did not belong in this setting. Although, I will add that both Managers seemed very kind and were interactive with the guests, just wished they could of told how uncomfortable our server was treating us so we would feel more comfortable to speak up.
I would honestly suggest re-training that particular server in customer service. I could see the others servers interacting and truly making a great experience for the other patrons of the restaurant. This should be universal for all.
Great food and service!
Disappointing. Mussels on seafood tower were old and of poor quality. Cauliflower and new BC potatoes accompanying halibut were old and reheated. Waitress seems rushed and not very knowledgeable about mussels in a restaurant that specializes in mussels.
Every thing was fabulous, a must go to if you're in town!
Started with creviche and oysters. Four different mains and all were excellent. Our server Chris made a great recommendation regarding an Okanagan Pinot Noir and the Sommelier William made a great second reco. One of the best meals we've had in the past year.
Great place with very tasty food and outstanding, knowledgeable service
Fun menu incorporating sushi choices. Everything was top notch and delicious
Went with my wife. The bartender was excellent with great suggestions. He even knew which oysters were in short supply that night.
The oysters, sushi, appetizers and entrees were all spectacular. We planned on sharing entrees so the waiter had the chef split the entrees and bring them out separately.
Another great dinner at Blue Water Cafe!
Creative cocktails, great food (even appetizer pork cheek was fantastic!) and sea food!
Nor forgetting dessert- liked lemon sorbet.
Due to the next table who got too happy, noise level was very high.
I don’t write reviews often but I must write about this restaurant. One word review. FANTASTIC. If your in Vancouver don’t miss out. Book now.
A bit overpriced --paying for very good service and atmosphere plus sustainable fish. Food quality very good--just found the atmosphere a bit overplayed.
Absolutely amazing experience all around- food, service, timing of food, everything! And they had an incredible alcohol selection, especially the whiskey and gin selection!
A great spot for local oysters, seafood and sushi.
Really enjoyed our dinner at Blue Water. The heated patio was delightful and the service was exquisite. Had delicious cocktails, scallops, crab and shrimp salad, and halibut. Very fresh, great flavors. Highly recommend!
Excellent seafood, probably the best in the region
Everything is done well. This is a place with a lot to live up to given it's reviews and yeet it does exactly that. nothing is less than excellent. Service is professional, attentive and friendly. The food is exactly what you would expect at its price point. Fresh, quality ingredients cooked with attention to detail. We drank cocktails rather than wine and I must say that they were sensational, just wonderful negronis and manhattans. A v busy restaurant it it somewhere that should be on any list when visiting Vancouver
Excellent evening with superb food and service
Great meal, fantastic chef!
Very good service. Excellent food nice creative menu and presentation
Wonderful deliciously seafood selections from local oysters to fresh Pacific seafood and chicken. Great service too.
Fish was fresh. Waiter was just okay. Atmosphere was lively. We thought it was a tad expensive, but overall was a good experience.
We had a very memorable night celebrating my wife's birthday. We thoroughly enjoyed the absolutely fresh seafood, impeccable service and very interesting wine list. Still one of the best dinning experiences in a city full of high calibre restaurants.
Best oysters of all time.
Every single dish we ordered was exceptional! Service was top-notch. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and provided some great recommendations. Highly recommend for a special dinner/event. It is on a pricey side but presentation and quality of the food certainly worth it.
The food and cuisine were the standout here. Morels were in season so I would highly recommend. Our server had very good suggestions and was very engaged.
Great food, perfect for those seafood foodies, and a nice, cozy atmosphere. Wine prices are on the high side, so could use a bit more choice by the glass. Service is absolutely first class. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this restaurant to friends... the food and the service are fabulous!!
