Blue Water Cafe
The striking dining room provides active views of the “East meets West” kitchen and Raw Bar. The sweeping main bar leads out to the heated patio and the private dining rooms, which hold our deep and diverse wine collection.
Housed in a handsome brick and beam heritage warehouse conversion, Blue Water Cafe is in the heart of the historic and vibrant Yaletown neighbourhood.
Please note: online reservations are available for parties of up to 12 guests. For larger parties, please call. Reservations are not required for seats at our bar.
One of the best meals I have ever had!!!
Our waitress was amazing. So friendly and helpful. The cocktails were outstanding. Couldn't get over the awesome oyster list.
Visiting Vancouver for the weekend and our first night out together without our baby was cause for celebration.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Blue Water Cafe.
The ambiance was excellent. We had a table right by the kitchen and it was nice to be able to watch the action.
The wine list has a nice selection of both vintaged wines and a broad BC collection.
The service was friendly but not overbearing which allowed for us to catch up and spend a nice uninterrupted evening together.
My food allergy was easily accommodated with delicious substitutes and I felt confident in the food that was served to me.
We had a wonderful time and look forward to dining there again on our next trip to Vancouver.
My husband and I went there for our Anniversary. We had a wonderful dinner. We ordered the seafood tower. It was amazing. It was four types of seafood. Each one prepared differently. I had the char and my husband had the sablefish. Each was very well prepared and delicious. We shared a dessert of pistachio brulee, which was divine. It is expensive but so worth it. Can't wait to go back. They have a sushi bar there too.
Beautiful seafood and sushi and extensive wine list. Everything was excellent quality and cooked to perfection.
I tried it for the first time I enjoyed the whole evening- the hostess was knowledgeable, waiters great & good food
Honestly by far one of our best experiences we've encountered for dinner. From start to finish, it was incredible. From the service, to the drinks, appetizers and our meals. Fabulous!!
We would definitely visit Blue Water again!
The best seafood I have ever had. The special halibut and the black cod were perfect. The mushroom cipolini onion side was a perfect complement to the fish. The combo app was a steal of a deal.
The attitutde and respect that the staff show each other is reflected in the way they treated the guests, always smiling supportive and with good humor.
We ordered Seafood tasting for 2, shellfish plateau, Aburi Sablefish Batterra roll, Stamina roll and Sockeye Salmon roll, and Vanilla Yoghurt Cheesecake. The shellfish plateau came out first, the oysters were good, the rest were ok, the jellyfish was the weakest link. The seafood tasting for 2 was pretty good. The salmon terrine was not as salty as some other reviews mentioned. The Aburi Sablefish was lukewarm at best, would be better if served as soon as it is done. Nothing special for the Stamina and Sockeye Salmon roll. Dessert was the highlight of the evening. Cheesecake was fluffy and light. Very good.
So pleased on every level and it didn't hurt that Tara (?sp) was our server. She was amazing as was the food and beverages. Will definitely recommend this place to others.
The seafood is exceptional. Sablefish was delicious as was local petroleum sole. They do the best sablefish ever here! Overall outstanding and Argentine service. A real treat.
Incredible venue for that special occassion.
Incredible seafood and wine at its best in Vancouver!
Perfect place to have sea food!!! Fresh, healthy , good quality!!!
Food was fantastic! Everyone ate too much.
Service was impeccable ... friendly, informative, timely.
Highly recommended for any occasion, but especially if you want some of the best food anywhere!
We had a great dining experience. Good food and service was outstanding. Our waitress, Julie, was very informative, charming, and attentive in a perfect way.
Great food. Great atmosphere. Out waiter was great. Knew when to take our order without pushing us. Staff were very attentive . We will definitely return hopefully with friends
The seating was quick. Atmosphere is fine dining. My husband ordered the free range chicken which was under seasoned and bland. I ordered the sablefish sushi which was slightly cooked when I expected something raw. Bellini was the best thing we ordered. Place seemed corporate and a little impersonal. Not authentic Vancouver.
Pork cheek starter was amazing, then had the char and lingcod which were among the best fish dishes we’ve had. Highly recommend
What a treat to find. Ambience outstanding due to large amount of wood keeping the noise level down. Service was friendly and very knowledgeable. And the food just wonderful. Top quality ingredients and preparations. No gripes at all. Liquor pours are a bit stingy, but that's true in most of area restaurants. I will return at next opportunity.
The service was exceptionally along with the appetizers and desserts (the pistachio creme brulee is to die for).
The food was AMAZING as usual. We love this restaurant for it's service and food. We tried their sushi for the first time and we are huge sushi fans....we could not believe how delicious their sushi was!! Definitely coming back for sushi next time we come. Took away one star because the service was A LOT slower than we expected and what we were use to.
Over the years we have dined at Blue Water, & it never disappoints. The staff is friendly, the service efficient (our server was very good) & the food delicious. This is a restaurant that maintains it's quality of service, food & atmosphere. Looking forward to our next visit.
Sablefish was tasteless. Very very disappointing. Salad was fresh and flavorful.
Great meal, outstanding staff and very good personal attention to the guest. Evening would have been perfect without the noisy and rude family behind us but staff did their best to find us other seats!
Great seafood and very very good service, our waitress was amazing. Knowledgeable personable efficient and super friendly. This was our very first visit to Vancouver and to the Blue Water but I assure you I hope to return soon. Loved it.
Blue Water has seen better days. For me the visit was nostalgic. I had been there before a few years ago. The food was too salty. This used to be a restaurant on the leading edge but it seems to simply be resting upon its laurels. If you like salty, rich and unimaginative cuisine then blue water is for you.
Not as unique or good as one would expect from the supposed best restaurant in Vancouver.
I wanted to like this restaurant. We were looking for great seafood. The food was good, the restaurant was very pretty, but the service and welcome were very cold.
The food was pricey, but it tasted good. I'm not sure I would order the Char again - I had never had it and it wasn't anything spectacular.
Our server - I can't even remember his name - seemed a little disenfranchised by us since we were in jeans. Unfortunately, this caused him to not pay as much attention to us.
Overall, it wasn't terrible, but I don't think I'd recommend this place to a friend.
what a fantastic place the best in Vancouver the service and food top notch!!!
Blue Water Cafe is a top quality, comfortable restaurant with a highly trained professional waitstaff. We had a wonderful evening and everything we ate was delicious. It's the kind of place that makes you wonder why most restaurants are so inferior. They have their act together. It is #1 in my opinion of all the places we've eaten while visiting Vancouver.
It is always gratifying when a restaurant picked by dissecting a web site excedes expectations. The Blue Water Cafe did exactly that. The food was sensational, the service professionally rendered with a personal touch and the ambiance subdued but elegant. We would not hesitate to spend an evening here again. As a side note, our evening at the Blue Water occupied almost 3 hours, always a good indication of a rewarding dining experience.
Amazing service, very efficient and attentive. Seafood was first class, made to perfection and a generous portion. Can’t wait to dine again!
Outstanding service and top quality food and presentation, Blue Water Café is the gold standard for seafood in Vancouver.
Service was excellent as always. I’ve constantly chosen Blue Water to entertain out of town guests fir business for 10 years. I thought my halibut was ok. Last month the sable fish was ok. Normally everything is full of flavour and delicious. Not sure what is happening.
Always a special meal when we dine there. Exceptional service as well. You do pay for it but it’s worth every penny!
The service was outstanding! Atmosphere was great and we really enjoyed the food and would highly recommend the Sablefish! Definitely a must visit in Vancouver.
One of the best Fish Restaurants ever, highly recommended!
Perfect food with exceptional service.
This is my favorite restaurant in Vancouver ! The ambience has a great vibe . The food is creative and so flavorful! Service is also top notch
