Nice atmosphere quick and friendly service, very delicious meal
This is Vancouver’s best. Excellent west coast cuisine in a lively atmosphere that is elegant and unpretentious. Knowledgable waitstaff for food and wine recommendations.
The decor and atmosphere was not what we expected from a seafood restaurant, however it was warm and welcoming. The food was also not what we were expecting, having somewhat of two kitchens in a restaurant, one being the main kitchen and the other the sushi/raw/cold bar. Some of the sides on the dishes were unnecessary or too much, while we found some of the usually lighter foods very heavy. Unfortunately we never did receive some of our sides, and were not checked on after being served. Overall, go in with an open mind and you will be pleased with the food.
We had family in town for a visit, and we wanted to treat them to a special dinner. This experience exceeded expectations and we will definitely be back for more! All in all, our new favorite restaurant in Vancouver, and a "must do" if you're wanting to treat yourself and/or others when in town. Sablefish was to die for!!!
The service and the fiod was great. I would definitely recommend this restaurant
Shrimp cocktail was horrible
Scallops were undercooked
Portion size ok
great experience overall, only negative was their char fish had skin on it..had it peel off, not expected...
The room is warm, if a bit loud at times, because it is deservedly busy. Our server was warm, informative, and very responsive. The wine list is carefully curated, and very thoughtfully chosen to accommodate customers at most price points. The food, however, sets this place apart. While the oysters and the uni reflect careful sourcing ( and were superb), the main course of scallops, wild rice griddle cakes and sautéed endive let the skilled kitchen shine brightly. The scallops hit the grace note of hard sear and tender interior that required perfect timing. The parking is a nightmare, but really, nothing to be done but patiently wait for Uber or Lyft next year
Spectacular restaurant, incredible food, great service and atmosphere. Great crowd... amazing chef...I never leave disappointed and always sad when the food stops coming.
If you come to Blue Water Cafe... come to eat and drink! What are my favorite restaurants throughout the whole world! I know a bold statement but I’ve traveled the world and this one never lets me down
First time dining at Blue Water. Very nice room, excellent appetizers, a bit too much sauce on the Steelhead main course. Very nice dessert and service was great.
The food and the service was absolutely amazing. My new husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our meals and loved the ambiance of the restaurant.
Muy recomendable y la atención y el servicio espectacular
It was great
As always, the food was great. We were lucky enough to have Tara as our server.....outstanding!
Average service. Food not special. High priced for little return
Amazing as always!! The food...the wine...the service
My only comment or suggestion would be for the Blue Water not let families with young children come in. We had a highly obnoxious family sitting beside us whose children would not behave or whose parents were unwilling to keep them under control.
When you are willing to pay a premium for this amazing dining experience...it should "not" include this type of behaviour + there’s no kids menu!!!
Have not been in a few years . We thoroughly enjoyed the evening .will return
used to be fantastic but now having rookies serving us makes it unenjoyable
We had an amazing day. We went to the fabulous Come From Away performance and topped it off with a delicious & delightful evening. The service, food, ambience and my Irish Coffee could not have been been. A perfect evening
The food was amazing and the service was excellent!
I think it is well known to others but this was my first time to the Blue Water. It was excellent. Pretty well unparalleled quality and value in seafood. An extensive menu that it will take many visits to work through and that is a future that I relish.
Great place, great food, great service. Everything was perfect. Everybody recommended us this restaurant as the best seafood restaurant in Vancouver, and I think they were right.
The food was incredible and our server, Tara, did a phenomenal job of attending to our dining needs! Highly recommend
Unreal service from a super cool waitress, if you are going to eat here you must request Jennifer to serve you. From the moment we sat down she was on point. We developed a level of trust instantly, my date and I decided to let her order our entire meal for us. Cocktails, appetizers, salad, Maki rolls finally Sablefish entree, desert and coffee... Was an unbelievable meal, with amazing service.
Superb food, well trained, knowledgeable waitstaff combined for a delightful evening. Come early and try something new from the 29 page bar menu
Great spot in a hip part of town. Fantastic food. A little pricy but great for a corporate dinner or special night out. My only beef was the obnoxious, loud and pushy waiter we had. It didn't help that he spilled wine all over the table refilling my glass and that of my client. We weren't in a hurry but I guess he was.
Tara was exceptional serving us.
Toptable Group... I would recommend eating at any of their restaurants!
Really good ambience. Food was really good!
Fabulous birthday celebration. Thank you for an amazing evening.
Food was fresh, and beautifully presented.
From the moment we arrived we felt very welcome. Wonderful experience
Crowded, noisy restaurant with good food and good service which do not come cheap. The chairs need to be re-stuffed but they willingly provide a cushion to sit on.
The place is always pretty full and therefore loud (no carpet or fabric to absorb noise), so why do they insist on playing that monotonous, irritating 'music'?
Celebrating my birthday.
Great food, so many choices of caviar and other seafood! Same family as araxi @whistler
Love this place so much. Have been several times. Got a bad oyster this time and they were extremely apologetic and offered compensation. If you have the opportunity- sit at the sushi counter. The sushi chefs are true artists.
Service was very attentive, food excellent. Noise was not noticeable. Definitely come again soon. Facilities were also excellent.
Thanks Stephane and Brent for another incredible evening at blue water.
the food quality is excellent, its really about the ambiance and service at this price point. Both are moderate, the noise makes it very hard to have cross table conversation without yelling or speaking quite loudly. Table service was indifferent versus friendly.
We ordered Blue water cafe which is a significant menu in the restaurant. It was awesome and fresh! We also had a chocolate cake which was fantastic.
Our waitress was incredible but she continually had to tell us that our food was coming... 2 hours later, we were told there was a private party having a tasting menu meal. Not a good enough excuse to not deliver food within 2 hours. Regardless, the food was good and they did comp our main dishes.
