We went for father's day brunch - 3 of us and we had a reservation for 10:30 am. The servers were very attentive however the food took a very long time. We arrived at 10:30 and ordered our meals and drinks at the same time. Food did not arrive until more than 30 minutes later. The server said they were very busy and that is why there was a delay, however, the restaurant wasn't very full at all. I think they just didn't have enough staff which is unfortunate.
Food was great! Many choices available. Setting on the river beautiful.
When we arrived i was surprised that there was no reservation recorded for my party. Used open table on line. Fortunately, we were able to get seating by the window without any further problems. Service was adequate. Food was great.
The food was outstanding and the service was top notch. We had a get together with friends who were in town from out of country, and we had a wonderful time.
We ordered tuna in wonton skin. DELICIOUS! Entree came 1 hr later. Not busy tat night so who knows. They gav us discount on our bill. Would recommend tis pl to others.
Excellent food. Excellent service. Was an amazing meal. Would recommend to anyone to check it out. Not that busy on a Saturday night
It was great
The first time my husband had halibut here, it was delicious and absolutely fresh, noticeably less fresh this time, unfortunately.
Our server made the experience
He was great!
I am very happy with the gentlemen served us on that night , Jackson.
Was seated in a timely fashion. Waitress took drink order and returned about 15 min later. Asked questions regarding menu. She said she didn’t know. Ordered meals . Salad was delivered to table - had to ask for bread. When meal came she asked how it was and didn’t return. Another server cleared our table as she saw we were finished. At that point a management person stepped in and handled our table. We were celebrating a birthday and mother’s day. Our celebration was ruined.
Mother’s Day brunch buffet. Desserts where quite basic
Typical buffet with nothing to spectacular or original.
Worst reservation & restaurant ever!. Made reservation like a week in advance to celebrate Mother's day and our Wedding Anniversary for lunch. Well nobody ever mentioned to us that the only option was buffette not a la carte until we arrived to the restaurant. Having a Daughter allergic to peannuts and with no choice but to order an expensive buffette and the food was worst!!!. When the check arrived we decided to complain why we weren't told before (during reservation and or when they phoned me to confirm) that it was buffette. Thanks to Kim (the server that brought us the check). She talked to the Manager and she managed to reduce significantly our bill.
Honestly this experience was the worst ever I had in a restaurant.
PREVIOUS DINERS LEFTG A LOT OF FOOD SCRAPS ON THE FLOOR UNDER AND AROU D THE TABLE WE WERE SAT AT WAS NOT CLEANED UP AFTER REPEATED REQUESTS . BUFFET IS NOT REALLY WORTH THE VALUE.
Mothers Day Brunch was wonderful. Great Seafood Selection. Yummy dishes. Desserts could have been a little better but ate plenty to fill me comfortable.
was lovely to spend Mother’s Day brunch there with the family. the view is beautiful! place was busy but not too crazy as i’ve seen it way more crowded on Mother’s day a couple of years ago. large variety of food, from breakie to lunch items! truly enjoy the omelette and crepe station! food for anybody. will come back again. our waitress was very attentive and always made sure our drinks were topped up.
Did not like that we couldn’t order off a menu...only had a buffet. Hot Buffet food was cold and very poor selection of desserts. Definately not impressed. Bill for 2 senior women....$125.00 for brunch....ridiculous!
Awesome Mother's Day brunch outside deck with view of Fraser river on a cloud less blue sunny day.
Was disappointed at the quality of the food for the price we were charged for mother’s day brunch.
Normally I enjoy boathouse food but the food at the buffet was no where near the quality I’m used to. The crab stuck to the shells, the eggs benny toast was too hard to bite and so were the waffles. I should have gone for an omelette or crepe and I likely would’ve been more satisfied.
Being Mothers day, we expected a bigger price tag, but at $45 per person, it was not worth it. While the choices were extensive, the food was cold and waffles in particular were stale. Then to find that coffee was an extra charge after asking three times for refills, convinced us never to return! The view is great, the restaurant is comfortable but food and service is absolutely not up to standard.
Buffet food was cold. Service was terrible. Grossly overpriced. Not going back.
Service was slow, food took an hour and no one would come around to let us know what was happening with our order. Wouldn’t go back to this location. Unprofessional.
I thought everything except the crab cake on the appetizer menu was good value. $17.99 for a single crab cake is a little bit pricey.
Enjoyed the lunch though, tasty food and good service.
Food good, service good they sat us next to a table with very loud people so it wrecked the evening.
We had Happy Hour, but our friend ordered Fish + Chips. Chips should ALWAYS be HOT! These were not.
I selected your location for the seafood and river view. I arrived early and I was placed at a table with my back to the river. I gave the view location to my client. I did take it upon myself to move to a different table with a better view. The seating setup is very poor as the location with the best view is setup so only half the people get the view. I wasn't offered the first row of tables because there was only 2 people in my party. I was disappointed you don't validate parking and especially considering the hassle with construction in front of your location. Our server was excellent and the food was good.
We had a fantastic dinner and our server Jackson was very friendly and kind.
The only negative was that they ran out of whipped cream so when our after dinner special coffees arrived; they were missing whipped cream on them. That was disappointing.
The seafood chowder that came with the $10-make-it-a-3-course was a joke. The soup came out within 3 minutes of placing the order in a tiny dish with 4 honking croutons in lukewarm temperature. The server brought out the bread after we finished the soup. Then we waited 40 minutes for our main courses. Again, my grill swordfish was likewarm. The roast potatoes were also grilled in some odd flavors of oil. My wife’s wild rice were either undercooked or over cooked in microwave oven.
The manager was nice enough to offer to replace my meal. But I really did not want to wait for another 40 minutes.
I had similar bad experience in the past and vowed not to go back. But I got a $100 gift card that I had to use up.
If i get another gift card in the future, I will re-gift them.
Excellent service, arrived 30 minutes earlier but not a problem as we were seated in 2 minutes. Nice seats with water view. Great servers and food came out fairly quickly. Ingredients are fresh and tasty. Had the Calamari (crispy and got the order in 10 minutes), I ordered the Crab/Lobster ravioli (recommended by the server), while my husband ordered the seafood pasta.
My ravioli is tasty (a bit too much olive oil for my taste), very filling. Seafood pasta was filled with prawns, salmon , assorted seafood. Our favorite restaurant for anniversary, birthday etc.
Our server was excellent I can not begin to tell you how good he was. Polite, friendly, helpful ,
thoughtful just all around fantastic.
Fantastic service and a great lunch and great wine selection as always- we will be back
Good food. Unfortunately their debit and points machines weren't working so we couldn't use our $25 points card.
We chose the Boathouse to celebrate a posthumous 100th birthday for someone who had a great love of crab. Not having been here for a few years, we were not disappointed. I would highly recommend this restaurant for it's ambiance, service and great food.
The crab fest was exceptional as usual and our view overlooking the Fraser River was lovely.
I had requested a table next to the windows and we did receive one as is was a special occasion
The food was great and so was the service.
Have all ways enjoyed going to the Boathouse and am never disappointed.
Not the first time visiting the boat house but sadly what used to be a great place to visit for more of an upscale dinner in new west has gone down hill. Food was ok but not spectacular. Service was where they truly fell apart. Way to long between visits from the waitress and when we asked for our dessert - had opted for then salad and dessert for $10 it was easily 20min before our dessert showed up. When I asked the waitress what the delay was she said it was due to the kitchen being backed up as the restaurant was busy. Any kitchen that can’t handle the restaurant at capacity isn’t my problem.
In a nutshell. Save your time and money and head elsewhere.
Our waitress was great but the dessert was very late to a point where we just wanted to rush out. Although the waitress kept us up to date, the venue was not busy and a great amount of time was spent waiting.
One of the meals (oysters) had several additional sea creatures (mini crabs); albeit at no extra charge. Luckily our guest had a good attitude but was a bit disappointed.
If the waitress wasn’t a positive person, the service and food rating earned itself a rating of 1 out of 5.
Among the four of us, we were celebrating a birthday and an anniversary. The wait people were efficient and knowledgeable about the menu. The food came quickly and was delicious!! Our birthday person received a delicious complimentary dessert which we all shared (of course!). It was a lovely evening. Oh, a few more vegetarian items would be appreciated. Thank you.
We arrived at 6:30 and our waiter Chris took our drink orders & food orders. Our food was delivered and Chris did not come back to our table. Within an hour it was very busy and there were not enough staff to handle the tables. There were at least 4 tables with screaming children (probably younger than 4 years old. One person at our table had a steak that was so tough she couldn't cut it with a steak knife. They did give me $20.00 off the bill. The other 4 dinners were perfect and we enjoyed the seafood. We waited for 10 minutes at least for our bill. We asked 3 different people and were told Chris had to do this. When he had a moment to help us he had difficulties figuring out the credit card payment. Also the greeters when we arrived made no effort to welcome us. I know these days it is hard to find and keep good staff. I think Chris was doing his best but he just had too many tables to handle. In summary food was great service terribly lacking.
