1st time in this boathouse location. Only issue is constructions to get in there. Otherwise excellent meals and service.
Worst luncheon I ever had. Extremely overpriced. Bowl of soup had barely a cupful in it.
Hamburgers were not good and very overpriced.
Our waiter Michael was excellent calm friendly and informative. Will return because he was very good. Your front of the house staff were very good as well. Nice to have great staff around us. I do suggest a braille and large print menu to be more inclusive. Heather
Great Food! Amazing Service!
Keep up with the great service and food!
The Boathouse is always a good consistent restaurant with good food.
We ended up a party of 5 instead of 6. Our server was not impatient with the tardiness of our group ( only 2 arrived on time). While we were seated in the lounge area we were informed there was a large party coming in and we would have to be moved to the restaurant side. Staff were very courteous! Once ‘re-seated’ we decided to go ‘Tapas’ with appetizers. The food was delicious, wine and beer were great, ambience was perfect and the service was incredible!
We will definitely be returning!!
Parking is not easy because of the new tower built on the old parking space. Excellent service.
I used to enjoy Boathouse quite a lot, but this was a disappointing visit. Service was pleasant but very slow although the restaurant was not busy. We had brunch on a Sunday. The eggs benny was ok, but short on hollandaise (my friend had to ask for more). The side fruit was very sad looking, seemed like it had been likely sitting in the fridge for a few days, and the 'potatoes' seemed like frozen tater-tots. For $18, pretty disappointing. The hot water for the tea was not all that hot, so tea didn't steep well, and the tea was $4 with only one tea bag provided -- ridiculous! My friend who ate french toast did say that was good, and it certainly looked tasty.
New West Quay is a lovely location, and convenient on the skytrain line. For that reason alone, I might try it again in the future when meeting up with friends. Although there are a lot of restaurant choices right close by. Hopefully this was just one bad luck visit at Boathouse.
Fantastic setting. Calm cool and quiet at lunch on a rainy Thursday. Waiter was perfectly attentive. A very pleasant experience, but the people I was with probably had a lot to do with it. It's rarely only about the food.. Thanks Boathouse. Job well done.
The food and service was great and we really enjoyed our meal.
As always, wonderful experience. Love this restaurant.
The service and food was excellent. I really enjoyed my seafood chop chop salad. I enjoyed watching the boat traffic on the Fraser River
As always Boathouse is my go to for special occasions, just celebrated my son's 8th birthday recently and Jackson our waiter was amazing! Thank you for the memories.
celebrated my birthday here with the family. they hsve great seafood, superb desert. service from jackson is good too
We were very disappointed with our visit. It started with getting seated. Despite making a reservation, we had to wait while other people arriving after us were seated. We then were put by the serving desk and a huge party. Dinner was very slow to be made, and when it finally arrived it was definitely not worth the very high price tag. My husband ordered the lamb, as he does virtually everywhere we go, and it was very poor. I had the ravioli which was a glutinous mass - although the prawns were cooked nicely. There was one other poor lamb shank and a steak which our guest did not comment upon - I gather he was satisfied. At the time of dessert, again despite noting on the reservation that it was a birthday dinner and I would like a candle, nothing was acknowledged. I would not go again and would definitely advise others to find alternatives.
The service was outstanding . Our food was not up to what we are used to for the Boathouse . The steaks were not tender. The overall experience was good but a bit of improvement with the food would have made it a better experience.
I was actually quite disappointed. You ran out of bread & the waiter brought us a basket with 1 roll for 6 people. Did bring more later but about the same time as our meal. 2 of us had the combo platter for $49.99 & the shrimp was missing when it came out. We did finally get it after we had all finished our meals. Yes the kitchen sent out a little complimentary appy but still... To actually forget a piece off the plate & it was not the server that noticed. It was some at our table.
First time I actually have been there & would be very hesitant to return.
11th Wedding Anniversary....food was delicious, service was excellence!!
We were there for our 39th anniversary this day, and we haven't tried this restaurant in a long time. It was an enjoyable experience. Our server did a very good job and was friendly and accommodating. She did suggest a drink for my husband because he liked a specific type of drink with pineapple and rum. We did get a complimentary piece of cake for dessert. Very nice, we will return again.
I love this place. My hubby, and I come a few times a year. However this was the second time we were seated by the kitchen. I don't like that seating. It's high traffic, and very noisy. Otherwise I look forward to coming again.
Open Table emailed asking for a review, other wise I wouldn't bother. 3 out of 4 meals were good. My first time at this location. Inexperienced server mixed up my order. Manager came by and offered to rush the missing lobster over. Only problem was it wasn't cooked. Arg... So I didn't get lobster for lobster fest. Everyone was already finished eating when it arrived and it was my friends birthday so I didn't say anything to server, but hopefully they looked at the uneaten greyish mushy tail and said something to the manager. The positive was the free desert for birthday person. Always welcome!
Please arrange a table with a good view, thx
Have been here many time and enjoy it as much as I did on our first visit.
The food was outstanding although, the steaks were surprisingly small. The Whisky sour was spectacular. Stay away from the Espresso it's dreadful. Service was discreate and attentive and made for a great dining experience.
Food not bad, view is very good, service is very good.
Great service in a big space. Nice views and user friendly menu. Decor is a bit dated but it's not pretentious at least.
Food was good if not spectacular.
Had a couple friends visiting from NY and they wanted to taste Pacific Ocean seafood. We took the QtoQ ferry across from Queensborough which was so convenient. Had a lovely table with views of the water. Our server (Shawn) was phonomemal and the food was outstanding. A perfect evening.
Excellent customer service and food. Beautiful view.
We have been coming to this Boathouse for many years. We were very disappointed this time. Usually the service is very good but we found it somewhat lacking and not very professional. The food was not up to the quality that was expected given the prices charged. We were given 2 buns to start that were hard as rocks and not really eatable
They did bring 2 more buns after we complained which were just ok. Not at all like what was served in the past. Our main meal was just ok and nothing special. At the start of our evening we ordered a bottle of wine. When it arrived it was the wrong wine. During our main course the waitress actually came by and scooped our side plates away which we were still using to put our shell fish remains on. It is a shame that this restaurant appears to be going downhill in quality and service. We likely will try other restaurants for our next special occasion.
Quality of the food was good, but we had to wait quite a long time for our meal.
The boathouse is a staple in New Westminster and I have been going for over 30 years, since I was a kid. I feel like quality has declined but maybe my expectations have just increased. Food is ok but given all the options in Vancouver seems subpar. View is good and service is average. We wanted a pitcher of sangria but despite offering glasses of sangria no one was willing to offer making us a pitcher. Not a great desire to please customers.
Over cooked vegetables, bland fish and expensive. I’d equate to cafeteria or hospital food.
Service was slow, but if the food was better, it might have been worth it, but not for the price.
Pricey. Can't afford to come much or often. Food was not so exceptional
Meals and service were second to none, I was very impressed, but it came with a steep price. I just can't do this too often.
Although the food was good, we waited an hour for our main meals.
nice table inside by the window so we had the best of both inside and out. Our server was very good
we had the firecracker shrimp as an appy & another server delivered with the garlic bread all soggy in the sauce. we mentioned to our server Jackson & he quickly replaced with a new garlic bread. sometimes its the little things that make the difference. dinner was very good. Ask to sit in Jackson's section, he will take good care of you & most importantly he is very genuine and a nice guy! he's an asset to the Boathouse for sure! = ) thanks
When I reserved the table, I told the staff the dinner was for my mom’s birthday and hope they can get a dessert to write happy birthday or maybe a candle on the dessert, he told me he would make a note to my reservation. And when we were having our dinner and made our order, I told my server it’s my mom’s birthday and hope she can get her a candle on her dessert or something. However, when my mom’s dessert came, there’s no candle or any writing of happy birthday on the dessert, which I was kind of disappointed. I am not sure if I will go to new west boathouse again for any special occasion. I hope your restaurant can take this comment and reflect to your staffs so it will not happen to other customers in your restaurant again.
I ordered salmon which was over cooked and dry. But they changed to crab stuffed shrimps which was good. Very quiet place with few people only. Not worth the price.
