Boathouse New Westminster
First time our for dinner since the reopening. Very nice to see the manager from the closed Richmond location working there.
My husband and I had dinner on there on Friday and we were extremely disappointed he ordered the crab and it was very dry and looked freezer burnt and my fish and chips were good but my coleslaw had a rust colour to it so our experience wasn’t great . I really hope things turn around because I really love this restaurant and we go there often
It was wonderful to enjoy dinner out again.
Great to be back at the Boathouse for lunch! Thanks for opening!
It was wonderful to have the Boathouse reopen again after the lockdown. Beautiful sunny weather socially distancing with a friend on outside deck with view of FRASER river and awesome food and wine that we were missing.
Great food and drinks.
Best customer service
The four of us were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the "Happy Hour" choices that we made: Calamari, Coconut Shrimp, Popcorn Shrimp, Sticky Ribs, and Buffalo Cauliflower. I tried all except the cauliflower and Popcorn Shrimp. Loved the Coconut Shrimp and Calamari. Enjoyed a taste of ribs.
The food was good, but the service was not good at all!
Should be free parking. Got an $80 parking ticket☹️
Ordered steak with lobster . Doesn’t taste good . Drinks - seems like bartender doesn’t know how to mix drinks
Had the sesame crusted AHI Tuna...it was sinewy and chewy. Couldn’t eat 2 pieces. I eat a lot of Ahi Tuna and this was legit the worst I have ever had. The worst was I told the server and no one even came and apologized or asked if they could do anything to make it right. Nothing was deducted from the bill even though I couldn’t eat it.
Wasn’t looking for anything major but to have no response or acknowledgement isn’t acceptable. I won’t be back, not because of one bad dish but because of the lack of response.
The pasta I got was good. Good flavour and portion size.
My wife's crab dish, not so great. The crab was simple and good with the butter, but the seasonal vegetables were a total miss. No seasoning, no taste, small portion for the price point.
And the child menu pricing is ridiculous. $13 for child's chicken strips and fries and no dessert, c'mon. Small pieces of chicken and we could count the total number of fries on the plate. Compared to other restaurant's child menu, this was a total disappointment.
We went for a birthday dinner and have been many times before. What struck me as I sat down for a 7:45 reso was how bright the lighting was. Sadly, it kind of ruined the evening for me....food was still good, service prompt and attentive.
It was ok just not great service. Had to ask twice for coffee and ask for refill. It wasn't busy but I felt we were all sitting close together. Food was ok. I like the concept so I will be back I'm sure.
Great venue, awesome service, and the food was excellent.
It was nice and quiet for a romantic date night. Food was good but it was not like other boathouse locations. Service staff was good.
The food was great. Haven't been in awhile, probably a decade but you guys haven't lost a step. A little salty towards the end but that may be due preference. Keep up the great work.
We love the location. The food was awesome and Michael the server was very friendly and attentive!
Just a brunch. The food was ok. It was not bad food what so ever it just wasn’t special. Wasn’t fine dining food or experience. We waited a while to get a server, however when we did get a server (Trisha I think her name was ? Beautiful Canadian-African server who was working mornings) she was very very good at her job. She was attentive and checked up on us regularly without being annoying. Honestly, I have managed restaurants for a living and I can honestly say I’m an unbiased opinion. She is very very good at what she does. Honestly from her work ethic I could see this woman managing a fine dining establishment in a year or so from now. If you are so lucky to get this amazing woman as your server, please get ready for one of the most amazing dining experiences and some of the best service ever through out your fine dining courier/lifetime.
We had a 9pm reservation , we didn’t get seated until 930pm. Restaurant was empty so confused why the 30 min wait when we had reservations
Have been there many times - our preferred destination for special occasions. Food good - staff attentive but not in your face. We've always made a reservation days in advance and always seated at a window table. Great!
The door was cooked to perfection, the staff were slow and took a while, perhaps they needed more personnel.
Service was extremely slow , and everything was overpriced
Made a reservation for my parents to enjoy a lunch together on their anniversary. They went 3 years back also for an anniversary and enjoyed it, so requested to go again this year. They said the host wished them happy annviversary and they received complimentary dessert at the end of their meal. Thanks for making my parents' special day extra special!
Staff need to be more attentive. Had to waive down our waitress many of times for water and coffee. She seemed to be in a rush and it wasn’t even that busy. Bill dropped off and waitress never returned to see if we need machine or change. Lot of time spent waiting around for our waitress.
I would add more appetizers and have more choices that are not seafood....I understand this is a seafood restaurant but I do not eat any seafood AT ALL! S when I go with hubby or friends my choices to eat are very limited....therefor I always try to suggest a different restaurant
Wait staff was good. Food has a hair in it and the manager didn’t charge ya for it so that was nice.
Arrived at 6:45 for our 7:00 reservation and weren’t seated until 7:30 despite checking in with the hostess four different times and being told it would only be a couple minutes. Waiter was good but run off his feet. Food was good. We really enjoyed the crab ravioli. The steak was perfectly cooked — sooo tender. The prawn skewer could’ve used some seasoning. Any seasoning. Creme brûlée was one of the best we’ve had — just too bad they serve it cold. Not room temperature, cold.
Our daughters non gluten meal came loaded with gluten and had to be returned. The salmon tasted like farmed salmon and wasn’t enjoyable, it also seemed to be lacking in any type of seasoning. Overall, the place is really lovely, and parking was easy as well.
Food & service were great with exceptionally good value during Dine Out Vancouver.
Parking was a bit confusing though, two different parking stations, different rates in the same parking lot.
Overall was ok. Food is pretty traditional vs other restaurants of this caliber. Server you could tell was pretty new and inexperienced. Overall I was give it a average at best.
Server was excellent but the time to receive food at the table was a bit slow. We informed the server and the manager we had music performance to attend but it we still had little time left to get to the performance. Everything else was very good.
Great service needs parking
Excellent service and great food
The food was great and the prices are great too! The server was quick and attentive and the atmosphere was lively. I would definitely come back again.
Wonderful !!!!!!! Always a satisfying food experience.
I had a reservation for 2 for a "date night" on Saturday night at 8. I realize this is prinme time but I had a reservation. No table available. I had to ask for seats at the bar. I wasn't offered that option. The manager talked to me at the bar and I asked about a gluten free menu because I have Celiac. Didn't have one but the chef could accomodate me on most menu choices. Then we ordered and the waitress informed me pretty much everything on the appy menu was not gluten free. They didn't even have a gluten free soy sauce. That's an easy thing all restaurants should have. 45 minutes later still no table and had to ask. They needed my name. They weren't even trying to seat us. Then the seafood meals came and the shrimp were breaded. I ate one before I realized. I was bedridden the next day. The table by the window was drafty as hell. The windows and doors are leaky and it was cold outside. I never got a chance to check out my date's figure because she wore a blanket that she brought herself. Not offered. My first date with this beautiful lady that I had invested about 6 hours of chat and a nice coffee date into did not afford the opportunity for "chemistry" revealed in the reluctance to kiss me goodnight at her doorstep 20 yards away from the restaurant. The next day we unmatched each other and we both will have to accept our ultimate fate of dying alone.
Dine Out Vancouver 2020.
Waiter was attentive, and the food was delicious. Fresh flavours and product makes the coconut cod dish.
I have learnt from hole-in-the-wall restaurants that you shouldn't judge taste by plating or presentation, but I was worried when the bowl was placed in front of me.
Still a nice evening with my love.
As far as Dine Out is aware, the food simply wasn't very good. Couldn't even chew certain parts of my steak. Certainly not worth the price.
I would never go back and wouldn’t recommend
I ordered steak. My steak was really chewy and tough. It was like chewing a gum. Gave up and practically half of the small steak was thrown away. Service was wonderful our server was Sean he was wonderful. But food was not worth it at all
