This was our finally getting together for Christmas Dinner. We decided to try a late lunch and we were not disappointed. The service was fantastic. Food great and our overall experience was exceptional. We will do this again.
You really need to clean the cobwebs from the patio lights! We were there to celebrate our engagement. We appreciated the free dessert but perhaps the server should have acknowledged that it was free and why?
Great fireside happy hour with friends enjoying water views on the patio. My Caesar was too sweet for my taste, great shareables, ahi tuna tacos unexpectedly served on rice... would come again.
I like to Boathouse on the whole. However, it seems to be getting very expensive for families.
So there’s so much potential for this restaurant. The location is beautiful. The food is always just so so. I take friends and family but only for the location.
The Boathouse is a big open restaurant with a great view of the ocean. We ordered several fish meals and they were each prepared perfectly. Ambience is nice, service was great.
Everything was perfect, Anastasia was very helpful and efficient.
Service was amazing however food value was terrible. We ordered food from Valentine menu and was definitely overpriced.
The quality of the food does not match the price. I’ll spend a lot of money on food if it’s a quality meal, and good service. It took us and hour To get meal. We use go to this boat house years ago all the time, and it has gone down hill, it is now a 3 star restaurant.
Valentine’s Day Dinner
Prior to reserving at the Boathouse, I reviewed the menu extensively with my dietician. I was recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. I also have lactose intolerance and celiac disease. My dietician and I researched restaurants I could eat at and found one menu option I could have at the boathouse if I replaced the quinoa with veggies. I made the reservation and was excited I was going to be able to enjoy the Boathouse on Valentine’s Day. That day, I went I got my hair done, and bought a pretty dress for the occasion. When we arrived I was thrilled to see we had a window seat but then I was handed a different menu. I was shocked. It wasn’t at all the menu my dietician and I perused a few weeks ago. I ask the person who seated me if at all possible I could please order the one dish I could eat. She said she could ask the manager. When the manager came to my table he told us, no. That the menu was a preset for Valentine’s Day and he was not willing to accommodate me in any way. I explained my type 2 diabetes and how restricted my diet was and how I really wanted to eat there. He again said “no”. I was super upset. I was embarrassed and felt humiliated as we had to get up and leave. I sat at the front waiting area for my husband to bring the car around as there was no parking anywhere close and I sat there and just cried. I was so upset. So upset, I cried the whole way home. The Boathouse ruined my Valentines Day and the manager unwilling to offer me anything but a “no” is not how any restaurant should treat people. I was visibly upset and the manager didn’t show any compassion for me. I am a human being. I will never return and will never recommend the boathouse ever again.
I like the view and the service. Food is fine, but the batter on fish and chips needs to be better.
Went for my husbands birthday.
Our first waitress was pleasant, we ordered a drink each. She came back with my husbands and let me know they had sold a lot of bellinis that day and the machine needed time to make the slush. She suggested a sangria instead which was delicious.
We ordered two appies, the sweet chilli chicken and the coconut prawns.
The coconut prawns were over done and taste identical to Costco’s frozen option.
The sweet chilli chicken smelt off. It has a smoke/ propane taste to it.
While waiting for our dinner we had no one offer to top up our empty waters and had a waitress bring us another tables steak dinner, we corrected her and she was embarrassed she was at the wrong table- no problem.
My husband ordered the Atlantic lobster tail dinner and made sure to ask for extra butter. When our dinners came, a third waitress served us, quickly out our dinners down and walked away without a word. My husbands dinner had no butter.
We finally flagged down ANOTHER waiter and asked for butter. Which took another 10 minutes.
The lobster dinner-
The meat was not presented on top of the shell, and were small, about two inches in length. It smelt old and took two bites to finish. It was served on a bed of undercooked rice, with a side of an overcooked large carrot and poorly sliced undercooked zucchini.
The Tuna Poke Bowl-
The rice was overcooked mush. The bowl was average, nothing you couldn’t get at the mall. A few pieces of the tuna were very tough and had to be spat out.
$142.00 later We were very disappointed and won’t be returning. 2/10.
We had to send our food back twice because it was under cooked. We were served cold steaks and raw prawns. We ended up not eating anything. The staff was lovely but we definitely will not be returning.
Our server Brianne was amazing!!!
The boathouse is always a nice place that is local to go to. It was nice to try out the dine out menu.
Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Boathouse. Five of us went for a family birthday. It was also during Dineout so two of us selected from the Dineout menu. Food was all absolutely delicious plus the presentation was great! Portion sizes were also good plus the free bread for an appetizer was great. The host and our server were very friendly and welcoming. Food was served in a very timely manner with the different courses being brought out at appropriate times. The restaurant itself is beautiful with lots of timber construction and lots of windows which would probably provide a great view if it wasn't night time. Overall, the food here is a little more on the expensive side, but the quality and experience is worth it!
Service was fantastic
We enjoyed a lovely time celebrating a friend's birthday. The service was great and we all enjoyed our food. Sitting in the patio area provided a lovely view.
This has always been our go-to place however I did notice the prices are beginning to sneak up.
The Dine Out Vancouver menu was good value for what otherwise is a bit pricey restaurant
Table service was good. Food service was poor. Everything was under seasoned and lacked flavor and cook temperatures all wrong.
The food the view the ambiance the service it was amazing....I donot get out often for a special dinner, and the boat house exceeded my expectations. It was wonderful...thank you :)
We love the Boathouse and this dinner was as good. It was our daughter's 13th birthday and she wanted crabs; so we decided to take her to the Boathouse as they have the best and we weren't disappointed.
Our meal was great and they even brought her a complimentary desert with a candle which was very sweet! I highly recommend this place :-)
Service was good. Cocktails were mostly ice, food was so so, over priced for what you got.
The food wasn't what I was expecting. It might have been because it was happy hour, but it seemed all too fast that we got our food. It appeared to be already cooked, warmed up and lacking flavor.
I did mention it's a birthday event as note here and seems to be note was not showing up in restaurant's system. No one knows about it until I mentioned at the end. Steak can be improved and rest are GREAT!
This was our first time setting at patio. The area was warm and the light was a bat too dark. However, we were very enjoy the food and the service.
The food were tasty and beautiful plated. We were very enjoyed.
Food was good, portion a little small.
Service could have been a little better.
The Sablefish was delicious!
Boathouse is definitely a special place for special occasions. My husband and I have been here twice already and have had the most amazing food and experience. Looking forward to another great dinner! I had clam chowder, which was great. Lamb shank was absolutely superb! And I finished my dinner with the mocha ice cream pie which was refreshing and delicious. It wasn't a busy night and we were served promptly.
The service was good. The building is gorgeous. The food was delicious. They could increase vegetable portions to make it perfect. 1/2 carrot and 2 zucchini medallions.
Not sure if the bread is usually provided, but it was not this time.
It would be nice if your 'BRUNCH' menu had breakfast items other than eggs!
The food was not very good - the fish and chips were horrible for a seafood restaurant. All 4 of us did not like our meals.
The food and service was great, my only complaint is that they made the portion size smaller for dine out, our mains weren’t even served on full sized plates.
The Cesar was so plain had no taste. The main course took awhile, and wasn’t good for the price. The waitress was so busy that didn’t have time to come over, so had to flag another waitress
Dine out Vancouver menu wasn’t good this year!
Great Location and we always enjoy the interior of the inside and all the windows.
Unfortunately with Dine out on only the 2nd night of it, they ran out of the dessert option and we could not substitute what we wanted. The cheesecake that was the substitute was in fact not cheesecake, but a baked cake with icing.
Service was slow and they were out of what we wanted to order for dine out Vancouver. It's a beautiful location but tame - mostly families. Would come back for happy hour but probably not dine out.
Excellent food. Great location. We had a lovely time.
The boathouse is a favourite spot for our group of 30/40/50 something ladies. The six of us always love the ambience and can count on service that is happy to let us chat and take our time. The only negative was our food. Three of us ordered omelettes. They were tremendously overcooked and were dry to eat. It was a shame as crab and shrimp that is over cooked is tasteless. Sadly I believe this is typical of this chain. Slow service (which for a group of women is typically a good thing) and food that is average.
Was very busy and service was a little slow. Food was well worth the wait! Loved it!
