This was our first experience at your establishment,we just relocated here from NovaScotia. We very much enjoyed our evening out and will visit again soon.
Food was average.. waiter was pleasant and reasonably quick.. major concern was one of our guests had a nut allergy and when they brought out their free, birthday, desert it had nuts sprinkled all over it.. they need to be much more careful with this.. fortunately we caught it and they replaced the dessert with another option. Wine list not even close to where it needs to be for the experience they are trying to create for their guests.. what wine was available was over priced compared to other local restaurants offering the same brands/vintages. I don't think I would recommend this restaurant to friends or family... We have been several times I've true OST several years and it doesn't seem to overly impress.. it's just kinda middle of the road... Definately not a "go to" venue.
Great place for our small staff party. Everything was great except for Service was slow after our food as server forgot about us. No drinks, waited an hour before we were checked on to ask for our bill
I took my wife there for her Birthday and of course our adult kids. Everyone really like the place, the view, the service and the food was excellent. We will certainly go back.
Service and food was excellent for the table of 8 for a birthday celebration.
I went to Boathouse for the first time along with my wife and son. To start with, my wife's order was delivered incorrectly. The server rectified really quickly and was very apologetic, and I do understand these things happen. However, when we received the correct order, the fish was really dry, with negligible sauce on it. It just spoiled the entire experience. We definitely want to give them another chance, as other reviews were rather good and then will decide if we should ever go back or not.
The food was good but I think the dish should have included 2 sides e.g. vegetables and potato. Service was good and beautiful location.
Wonderful. Our first time there, and we brought our 11 month old boy. Our server Tessa was incredibly attentive and helpful. Her menu suggestions for us were perfect. We were really impressed by the service, ambiance, and food. Can't wait to come back again
the beef steak is over cook like last time, the beef is not good quality meat
Great big place. Good waitress. Food was good and as expected. Disappointed that it is part of an American chain.
Ambiance at this location is always nice. Employees are friendly.
Good food. Slow Service. Atmosphere and view is great.
Had the New York strip medium cooked. It was burnt . Paid a lot for a burnt piece of meat. No flavour. My wife's meal was excellent
Our experience this time at the Boathouse wasn't what I expected, the food could have been much better, the steaks were overcooked and very chewy, not what I would expect for the Boathouse. The restaurant itself was great and the service was great. Don't think I'd go back though, unfortunately.
Our server forgot to refill my drink. And she served the birthday dessert to the wrong person. Plus my sirloin steak was a bit tough to chew.
The staff at Boathouse were so nice when our steaks were overdone. They happily remade the orders and provided complimentary appetizers and desserts to compensate for the inconvenience. It's so nice to see that customer service is a matter of pride at the Boathouse.
The new Seacuterie board was ver good. Could be excellent with a few tweaks. We came in for a steak and lobster special. The steak was delicious but the lobster was very small and a bit overcooked.
The Boat House is a good option for a higher end option in the Tri-cities. The crab cakes were good but their was no texture, they were a bit mushy on the inside and the accompanying salad was weird to not have some sort of vinaigrette drizzled over it. My wife enjoyed her steak and stuffed prawn with crab option but for 37 bucks felt like 4 prawns was a bit chintzy. I had the crab and lobster stuffed ravioli. My dish was clearly under the heat lamp too long. The grated parmesan was sorta kinda melted, the plate looked like it had been slid along the pass and assembled because the presentation was a bit lopsided. I expected their to be some texture to the filling of the ravioli. Instead it was a bit pasty. For the 2 of us, our bill came out to 111.00 and change and I left feeling a bit meh. We will likely try the Happy Hour Menu but would probably try another option for any type of celebratory dinner.
The steak and lobster was great, the calamari excellent. Service was quite slow, though. I think the kitchen might be overloaded.
As always too noisy. Why does the music have to be so loud?
Had a date night for steak and lobster. Meal was was very good. Server was very friendly but considering number of patrons in restaurant at the time, service was a bit slow.
Our Server "D" (black young man) made our visit and our experience one to remember as it was our Mothers 82nd Birthday. We had a ball!
Just not this particular location. The tables were dirty with lots of marks on them (unkempt) and the general atmosphere wasn't the best. It probably didnt help that the tables very were close together. I had trouble getting out of my seat due to the cramped space and I am a regular person size. Can't imagine how that would go for anyone overweight. I've gone to other locations and never had these issues.
Nice environment. Great service. Outside environment is also nice for walking , trail and sight seeing.
Excellent view! Service was ok . One meal served without the rice, just the curry! But corrected immediately ! Food was delicious !
I have recommended this particular Boathouse restaurant to a lot of people. My husband and I love this restaurant. When it is busy it is really loud, so when we don't want to deal with the noise level we just don't go at the busier times, (your common times for dinner). Thank you to the Boathouse staff it was fantastic.
Really enjoyed our time there...great date! Server was super attentive. Food was great! Thank you!
Our service started out very good, but faded as the dinner progressed, restaurant got busy and our server was rushed off her feet. The food was good but some of the servings were very small for the price. We were celebrating 4 family members birthdays and they each got a dessert on the house, very nice surprise. They shared as our server was too busy to see if anyone else in the group wanted dessert or coffees. Will go back and try again.
It was very nice for the restaurant to give us a slice of cake for free for our occasion. The portion of the food could be more or the dish could be more inventive. The ambience and service were great.
The food was great, but the service was terrible. The waitress was not personable, she did not go out of her way to tell us the specials (sandbox), she didn't ask if we wanted more drinks, it felt like we had to beg for service.
Service needs improvement, it's not a cafeteria!! Dumping(emptying) out a bottle of wine in one fell swoop not a class act. Where did they learn their skill. Overall meals were enjoyed, must agree becoming expensive.
The food was fine but underwhelming, especially for the price. My mimosa was clearly not fresh orange juice and the tomatoes on my benny were about as tasteless as tomato can be. I won't be back as it is just not worth the money.
Fantastic service and excellent space accommodating our group of eleven. Parking was a bit challenging as it was a sunny Friday and parking for the restaurant isn't restricted from parking for the nearby park. In the end, everyone parked, everyone was well-fed, and the restaurant was exceptional at handling the cake we brought in, providing plates, candles, and serving utensils without an upcharge or additional gratuity. Would absolutely come back and recommend to anyone else wanting an amazing harbourside event with an unbeatable view.
What a great location. Too bad there food is not great. We live in the area and used to love this place when they first opened. After the first couple of years, no more. I have not heard one good comment from friends about this place. The view is amazing. Service pretty good too.
However, I would recommend coming here for brunch. Can't go too wrong with brunch items.
Friendly and efficient service in a terrific setting. Jody our server was absolutely great! Seafood chowder was delicious. Smashed potatoes were inspirational. The sunset over the mountain was an absolutely perfect part of our anniversary dinner. We will definitely come back.
Our daughter had a sport tournament nearby and we decided to try this restaurant. We have been to other Boathouse restaurants before but not to the Port Moody location. There is a sailing/kayak club beside the restaurant and being the weekend, there was a lot of people circling trying to find parking at the lot in front of the restaurant. On a nice weekend, it may be a challenge to find a spot quickly.
The restaurant however was only 40% full, with most people preferring to sit on the patio. We preferred being inside with more shade and able to enjoy the high ceilings and decor, which made it feel more like a boathouse than the Kits location. The views from the restaurant was also enjoyable, and probably even better from the patio.
Food menu and food quality is on par with its other locations that offers good variety, large portions at reasonable prices. The kids menu items were also a great value. We would come back to this restaurant the next time we are in Port Moody.
Great location for a walk before or after dinner. Good food and thums up for the service, good team work. A free dessert for the birthday boy was a nice touch and an unexpected surprise.
Beautiful view and superbly flavourful meal. Great service too!
It was great! Really great views!
For the quality of food that was served, it was a bit disappointing and overpriced. The service was slow especially for the meals arriving and the bill coming to the table.
