    It’s been years since we were here and it was a nice experience tonight. Our server Natalie was fantastic and the views and ambience here are excellent even on a cold rainy night. The food in the past was just ok and that was the main reason we have not eaten here on a more regular basis. Tonight my wife had the lentil penne pasta with prawns and she loved it! I think it’s a smart choice to have that on the menu. I had the tuna poke bowl and it was good. Nothing special but it was good. Natalie really helped make our stay enjoyable and we will be back.

    Surroundings were nice, my steak could have been cooked more and I didn't care for the Crab Oscar sauce for $15 extra, very different to the one I had at the Kitsilano location back in the Summer which was lovely and served in a gravy boat at the side rather than put on top of the steak, a very different recipe. I was disappointed about this I must say.

    Food was very average. Steak was good but lobster was minuscule for $60. Calamari was mostly fried onions and batter was heavy and salty.

    Our order included the halibut special, the regular cheeseburger, and the seafood tower for 2. Everything was excellent (the burger was quite large, I was shocked my younger child ate the whole thing). The one minor complaint would be that the raw tuna on the tower wasn't very tasty (kind of dry and sinewy), but everything else was great. The waiter also comped a half portion of the mocha ice cream pie for my daughter's bday. That was also delicious. We'd go again!

    Janet is an excellent server. It’s been a long time since I have had someone with all the right timing and urgency and accuracy with everything. She made sure our anniversary is special. We hope to return and sit in her section again. Lightning in the restaurant was perfect. Everything was cooked perfectly. While the veggies and rice were very plain it worked with all the flavors in the seafood platter.

    Appreciated having a window seat if we didn’t get a window I don’t think I would enjoy the boathouse as much. Very nice going somewhere and having a tablecloth and candle a very nice touch. Our waitress was very sweet.

    We have been coming to the Boathouse at Port Moody since it it’s opening. It’s setting at the edge of waters is very unique. A great location; with an interesting interior ambience that has become tired. A cosmetic change is all it requires, though. It’s even worst for the Westminster location. The menu used to be very eclectic but now has become unimaginative. The menu is now geared for those who come only for the “staple” items on the menu. Pre-COVID the menu was interesting. It’s become the White Spot of the seafood category. The blackened Artic Chard and the Pesto S Shrimp was great as usual unlike the rest of the fare we ordered was not that great. Would we continue to go there? Not sure, we may give it one more try to see if things have changed, (a hesitant) maybe.

    First time dining at this Boathouse location. I’ve always enjoyed eating at them but the meal here was comparable to White Spot, except it cost over $300 for 3 people. Plates that were clearly done with were left on the table for a long while after finishing our mains. Disappointed with the food. Beautiful location though.

    Our server Kelly was amazing! Super genuine and interested in making it a great experience for us. Their happy hour has a good choice of appies and drinks. Beautiful view! There were seals and orca whales playing!

    Ordered exclusively from the Happy Hour menu, until we needed to order mixed drinks that weren’t full of ice and watered down… We didn’t drink the second glass of Big Surf Sangria… we told waitress it was heavily diluted 1 oz in a huge glass of ice and white cranberry juice. Waitress took them away but didn’t adjust the bill. Disappointed, we decided to order wine and a glass of warm beer.. at least two 9.50 beers will taste like a hard earned drink after a long day at work.. had to load it up with ice to enjoy it though. Ordered premium fresh oysters, assuming premium would be large.. these are tiny petite, hate to have ordered the non-premium… not sure there would be much of a taste difference. Chips and avocado relish… would not order again. Stale chips and small amount of relish was without much effort for the chef. The Szechuan Chicken Lettuce Wraps are my go to at Cactus Club as a more common dish in other restaurants. Our order shows up with limp butter lettuce. It was so laughable that I told the waitress that the chef must have made a mistake.. and asked for the ice-burg lettuce. Waitress assured me there was no mistake. The restaurant only serves the limp butter lettuce.. I thought I was getting punked. Beef sliders were good but the buns were definitely not fresh. Ugh. Can’t remember ever writing feedback like this before. That restaurant needs an overhaul.

    Service was poor. Restaurant not busy but rarely saw our server. She never once checked in to see if our meals were ok. My mixed seafood grill was completely underwhelming. Rice was tasteless and accompanying veggies cold. Certainly not worth what I paid for this dish.

    Waitress was terrible. Just a job to her. Brought cold coffee twice. Had to keep looking for her to have service. Had to ask her if we could see the dessert menu. We were buying one person her lunch so didn’t ask us how we would like to pay. She brought us separate bills instead. No smiles from her either. Like I said it’s just a job to her.

    Boathouse Restaurant in Port Moody – A Mediocre Dining Experience I recently had the opportunity to dine at Boathouse Restaurant in Port Moody and I must say, I was quite disappointed with my experience. While the location of the restaurant was beautiful, the overall dining experience fell short in many aspects. Let's start with the positives. The view from the restaurant was absolutely stunning. Situated in Port Moody, the restaurant offered a picturesque setting, allowing diners to enjoy their meal while taking in the scenic surroundings. However, the service at Boathouse Restaurant was extremely lacking. The waitstaff seemed to be scarce and it was quite difficult to get their attention when needed. This greatly affected the overall enjoyment of the meal as we had to wait for extended periods of time for simple requests. Moving on to the food, it was rather average in terms of taste and presentation. While the soup was decent and had good flavors, the rest of the dishes failed to impress. The quality of the ingredients used seemed ordinary and did not meet my expectations. Another disappointment was the beverage selection. The soft drinks, in particular, were more like flavored syrups rather than carbonated drinks. This was quite off-putting and definitely affected my overall dining experience. Lastly, the prices at Boathouse Restaurant did not match the level of service and food provided. Considering the subpar service and mediocre food quality, the prices seemed unjustifiably high. In conclusion, while Boathouse Restaurant in Port Moody offered a beautiful view, the overall dining experience was underwhelming. The lack of attentive service, average food quality, and mismatched prices left me with a feeling of dissatisfaction. I hope the restaurant takes note of these shortcomings and works towards improving their overall dining experience.
