Our party of three all enjoyed the 7oz CAB sirloin. Complimentary slice of mud pie for the birthday boy was a hit. Creme brulee was very good. Great service!

The Boathouse Richmond is a bit dated and could use some renovations. View is nothing to brag about. Meals are good but price is up-scale.

Late night meal. The steak was good! The blackened chicken sandwich was a bit too black. Caesar salad tasted dirty and needed more dressing. Our server was slow but it was around close so I don’t blame her. I would return but probably not to this location. The other ones are nicer inside.

For my starter, I got crab cakes and I got a single, cold piece of crab cake and when I brought it to the waitress' notice, she took it back to the kitchen, and heated it in the microwave and brought the same piece back. From there on, it all just went downhill. The entre' was looked like it had been heated up in the microwave. And I have had better creme brulee from supermarkets.

Food was horrible
Steak was full of gristle, and very tough, crab legs were SO thin, they barely had 3 bites of meat in them.
Prime rib was cold, vegetables were passable
The only good part of the meal were the appetizers and desserts
I came over from Vancouver Island for New Years, and was terribly disappointed
The charge for that meal was completely inappropriate!
They took 28$ off for the steak, and then offered 2 free appetizers credits.
As I don’t live there, that was useless.
To pay 70$ for a set menu, and then have it so poorly done, is unforgivable
Will not be back, and would never recommend
That was a huge waste of money on what was supposed to be a special evening

Our server was polite. However, she did not ask if we wanted drinks when she took our meal order. We had to call her back to take our drinks order. When our drinks arrived she did not bring the bottle of wine we ordered. She opened and poured the wine before we realized that is was not what we had ordered. For my meal, I ordered the Swordfish with mango salsa. It was disappointing, the fish was over cooked and served with only a teaspoon on mango salsa on the side. My son ordered a burger and the patty was underdone which he could not eat.

We have been regular patrons of the Boathouse since 1996. The Boathouse was our preferred restaurant to celebrated birthdays and anniversaries and it was a family tradition to celebrate Christmas Eve dinner at the Boathouse every year.

In isolation, each incident is not a big deal. When combined it does not make for a good overall dining experience. We have unfortunately seen the service and food quality decline at the Boathouse over the past year. This experience is not unique to the Boathouse Richmond. We have had worse dining experiences at Boathouse Kitsilano. Alas this was our last visit to the Boathouse.

They were able to accommodate a large number of guests which we really appreciated. Food was also really delicious! Great, personal service that felt genuine and allowed us to enjoy our own celebration with no distraction or hassle! Great experience, definitely would come again!

Typically the boat house has excellent food and service. Unfortunatly for us this trip was disappointing. The resturaunt was busy even though we were there early (6:30 PM). We did not get the seating we reserved ( although it was available) felt like we were rushed. My girlfriends meal was good, mine was very under cooked. I sent it back and when it returned it was severly over cooked. My guess is that the kitcken was so busy that there wasnt enough time for care while they were preparing the meals.

Hadn’t been there over 15 years and now I know why. For almost $40 for an entree I expected more and much better. For a seafood restaurant you would think they know how to cook. From my over done steak to my wife’s mixed seafood grill. It was sad, her one scallop was a size of a dime and that was generous. Her salmon over cooked and dry. Like they say over cooked fish is cat food!! Calamari appetizer was like bits of battered rubber! Pretty sad!! Won’t see me there again!

Waiter did not seem to know if crabcakes are other dishes had peppers and it .
Send the watery terrible tasting crab dip back which also have peppers in it .
Coconut shrimp was dry fairly tasteless and taste like it came out of a frozen box at the grocery store .
After sending back the to Ahi tacos with peppers, they brought it without end it was fairly tasty .
Carpet has a musty order which ruins the smell in the entire restaurant .
Had a companion have a not too bad a stake with lobster Thermidor on top which was a disaster .
The boathouse used to be a classy restaurant has now fallen to two star restaurant that I would not recommend .

Food was average and VERY overpriced. 50$ for an entree!? No tablecloths and very old decor. Service was good. It was 150$ with tip for three of us (2 seafood entrees, 2 drinks and I only ordered a salad for 15$).

Our food was just barely warm and the salmon was not fresh. This particular boathouse is out of the way and not easy to access. As well, there is really no view from many of the tables. Pricey for the quality of food. Our service was quite good. I would not recommend.

Greeters were brutal/ waitress the exception to this. Ambiance was poor, tired carpets and decor, maybe turn down the lights. Menu has not changed with the times and needs a vigorous shaking up. Finally the Techno music was so brutal we complained only to hear it was corporately mandated. Not Fun

The food and wait staff were excellent. The ladies washroom needs a complete overhaul, for it being a quiet as it was in the restaurant the washroom was not tidy. It FELT grubby because it was old. Stalls that did not close properly.
Sadly because of construction the restaurant outside is not welcoming at all, again a very grubby feeling. Fortunately I knew the food was goo

disappointing meal this visit - have been coming for many years. Lobster was very small, overcooked, dry & shrunken within the shell. No option to upgrade to a bigger lobster - there has been in the past. I am fairly sure that the standard size was 1 1/2 pounds - now only a pound & no reduction in price. Vegys used to be served in a separate pan which was nice so they didn't get soaked in lobster juice. This time, there were very few pieces on the plate & they were under the lobster. Rice or potato used to also come with the meal - not this time. Ice cream cake apparently made in house, but not the quality of the past "Billy Miner" pies. Ice cream was quite icy - not the rich product that was used in the past. Piece much smaller & less sauce on it too. Not sure if we will be returning.

We chose this restaurant because it was supposed to be great for local fish. We are from the East Coast so we looked forward to salmon and halibut. The specials were all Atlantic Lobster. The noise level in the restaurant was LOUD. The bar was out of the elderflower syrup. It is an ingredient in one of their specialty cocktail we wanted to try. The waiter suggested the ravioli because it was made at a local bakery. The caesar salad was cold and crisp but it was dressed with a commercial dressing and topped with parmesan cheese. There weren't any anchovies. The tables around us were given a bread basket. It wasn't offered to us. The crab ravioli with shrimp was very good. The rose sauce was nice. The mixed grill had a piece of salmon, shrimp and a stuffed lobster tail. All were overcooked. The mocha ice cream pie was the highlight of the evening. The cab from the airport and back was $30 and dinner was $130 We should have eaten at The Fairmont.
