Only people. Food took 40 mins. Some served cold. I had a seafood dish with salmon, dry and over salted. Would probably not go back. Server was very nice.
Even though we reserved telling them that it was a birthday dinner and the hostess acknowledged it, the waiter did not offer any kind of celebratory dessert. We ordered dessert anyway and had to bring it to his attention when the bill came. That takes the fun out of the celebration. The plank salmon was nice but no where near flavourful enough to constitute the price. The chef needs to visit the Sandbar and try theirs.
Food was good. Great service and the ambience and mood was perfect for a date. Recommended to try out at least once.
The place needs renovations for the price they charged.
Food was excellent. We really enjoyed out dinner at the Boathouse Richmond.
We had a great time. The service and food was excellent!
It was alright, but food was lacklustre. $76 for a meh meal and 2 beers. Location was nice. Maybe better for a drink and an appie.
This is not my favourite Boathouse. The view is just average. You're really staring at some boats in a marina and the legs of an overpass. Parking was a bit tight. It actually took a strange amount of time to get us seated as it required a special person since we had reservations. It would have been faster if we didn't have reservations. Service was also sub-par. Refills on water or checking in on us with food and taking our orders, I felt took longer than it should have even when considering it wasn't that busy. Our server was very nice but really no personality to get to know us or engage in any banter. White Rock and Kits are much better locations.
Food was good, portions were good, good value but service was very poor due to being under staff
Horrible. We’ve been to three Boathouse locations and this one has turned us off. I can say more but I don’t want to waste my time.
Service was terrible, waiting 20 minutes for drinks, an hour for appies, food came out late and 50% was stone cold. It’s unfortunate but this place isn’t what it used to be, we will not go back for a $500 dinner for 6.
The space needs updating like crazy -esp compared to other locations. Food was good but chairs, not comfortable and ambiance doesn't equal price point of food.
Haven't been here for a while but surprised at how much better it was than I remembered. We were here for a family birthday. Food was served hot and delicious, fresh baked piping hot soudough bread had a nice crispy crust, fries were amazing and seafood fresh and tasty. Prices were as expected, affordable for quality meals. The open kitchen was fun to view. Service was great. Would recommend.
We sat for over 15 mins and no server approached. I had to ask someone to locate our server just to get water. Our server was friendly all night but I was disappointed with the lack of upfront attention.
Was very excited to try the lobster and crab ravioli since I've had this elsewhere and have nothing but good memories with this combination. The ravioli was dry and the taste was just not there. Had to work hard, not in a good way, to finish the dish.
The ambience was very good. Nice hidden restaurant that was pleasantly quiet, although it was a Tuesday evening.
We were expecting a place similar to other places of the same chain and we were disappointed as this has a "worn out" look. We arrived early on our reservation and there were several people waiting to be seated and it took about 20 minutes to get our table. The kitchen was probably understaffed that night and we waited a long time to get our food. The couple next to our table had to ask several time before they got their food. At the end of the dinner, staff started to strip off all the tables preparing for closing; not exactly what you want to see when you're trying to get some atmosphere.
Food was good and our server courteous, but that's all the positive I found for the evening
I went there for Valentine’s Day with my boyfriend and we weren’t told that the menu would only be the Valentine’s Day menu. There was a $55 menu and a $65 menu. Our ordered drinks came the same time our first appetizers did. The truffled Brussels sprouts were decent portion and good. The calamari was small portion and mostly veggies. It took our main entree 45 minutes to come as it was getting busy. I ordered the crab ravioli with shrimp and my boyfriend had the steak and prawns. The portion sizes were SO small and I was shocked I only got 4 pieces of shrimp to go with my 4 pieces of ravioli. We both had the mocha ice cream pie which was good and good portion. The food here is overpriced and small portion, tastes mediocre. Thought it would’ve been a good Valentine’s Day dinner but would have liked to have been warn about the regular menu. The restaurant itself needs a renovation and the washroom was so ghetto I couldn’t believe I paid $65 for a mediocre experience/dinner. Would never go back.
Food at this location was “ok” compared to other boathouse restaurants I have been to. For the price it wasn’t worth it but it was Valentine’s Day and it was busy. The service was slow but the waitress was amazing. The place looks like part of it is stuck in the 80’s. Not much of a view compared to others locations. I don’t think I will return to this location.
Interiors quite dingy all in all
Food a fair bit pricey all things considered, and because almost all tables were for couples, elbow room was definitely compromised.
Disturbing to be seated beside a couple of loud speaking ladies and a little girl jumping about on the couch.
Great Valentines Day promotion, my wife and I had a wonderful evening
Great service ,friendly staff ,the food tasty ,nice ambiance with fire place .We had 6 happy hour starters ,and a bottle of wine .Next day lunch was equally as enjoyable ,seafood salad and hamburger .
The lobster bisque was horrible. Sirloin steak dinner was ok. The mashed potatoes were terrible. It came with roasted beets and carrots. I’m not a fan of roasted beets. And the desert which was the mocha icecream pie was phenomenal.
Will definitely not be returning given that I can get a better meal for the same price other places. Perhaps I should’ve went for the seafood not the dineout $45 menu.
There were two choices for the dine out menu. The lobster bisque was excellent. We had the sirloin and it was cooked to order
Our server was super good and did take care of us very well!!
I have a Landry’s Select Club membership and had received a $25 reward for my birthday a few weeks ago. Finally, I had sone time to enjoy a leisurely meal alone and use my reward before it expires in another few weeks. I ordered the $35 Dine Out Vancouver menu with the following items: Wild Greens Salad, the Coconut Pacific Cod entrée and Mocha Ice Cream Pie. The salad was a nice blend of vinaigrette with several types of greens, candied walnuts and goat cheese. The entrée was light yet filling with a nicely done piece of cod, a good mix of vegetables with red quinoa. The sauce was not overwhelming with just a hint of coconut and a nice twist with the lime flavour. The desert was light and rich at the same time but not too sweet. Everything was delicious and my server was excellent. She was attentive, friendly and engaging. She was great with following up after each course and checking if I needed anything during my visit. Also, I tried the ginger twist tea with my dessert and it was yummy. Thank you very much!
My SO and I went to The Boathouse on Saturday, January 25 for dinner to experience Dine Out Vancouver. I selected the 7 oz steak. The food was delicious (abet a touch salty).
Was told Casual Business attire which really did not matter as most of the people in the restaurant were dressed very casual (ripped jeans, dirty work boots, sweat pants).
Our waitress Donna was nice to our table and did everything right. I will be coming back with my friends in the future. :)
We really enjoyed our dining experience. The service was great. It was a bit too noisy to be able to have normal conversation but other than that we really enjoyed our evening.
So enjoy the boathouse. The food service was great.
We came here for Dine Out. Three out of four of us had Dine Out. Told server it was my sons birthday, she didn’t say or do anything about it. Food was mediocre. She brought our dessert but never asked if we wanted coffee or tea. She never asked if I wanted a refill or another drink despite empty glass. Menu seemed dated as did decor, felt like we were stuck in the 90s. Will not go back. Needs update.
It is good to come again
Heidi is always so great at taking care of us. Food was good too.
Great food and service! Not too loud!
Service was extremely bad and had a terrible dining experience at the restaurant
Hostess was lost, took 1/2 hour after reservation time to seat us. Many people waiting but empty tables. It was a 3 course set menu but 2 out of 3 of our choices for courses were unavailable. Long wait between courses even though only couple of choices available. Very poor new Year's
Set menu, nice choices but lobster bisque ran out at 1900h. Our main meal was brought to the table 2 min after our appie. When they said they would bring it back in a min, I simply stated maybe 20 min. Meal was placed under heat lamp, lobster tail was so Shriveled it was amazing they served it, when mentioned to server she stated, “ I will mention it to the chef, would you like more water?” Potatoes and veggies were cold and the garlic butter started to harden. It’s a shame because the steak was very good. Very poorly Managed restaurant, will never go back and would never recommend.
Great place to go even with kids. Food only slightly not as good as usual because it was New Year's Eve. My husband thinks his pasta dish was smaller than expected. All else was fine.
We were there for Christmas dinner. It was lovely. We’ll be back next year!
Recently visited for Christmas dinner. Service and food excellent!
Very cheerful Staff and made us feel like it was Christmas!!
