Our waitress was really good. We have some good wine appetizers and a good steak for supper. Love the view of the ocean at this location.
Wonderful view, good selection of seafood with attentive service
Dishes were good; staff was attentive, accommodating and punctual. Menu items seemed over-priced, but I think that’s the same for all restaurants, including fast-food restaurants.
Waited to long for food and bread was after appy. Table seated after me and ordered after me was served first.
the appy was over the top 10 out of 10
my pasta was' ifish' give it a 6
my wives meal was straight up perfect 10 out of 10
the bread was yesterdays left out hard tack and cold give it 2 out of 10
Table was not ready at reserved time, essentially no apology made for delays, two out of five meals were over cooked, table was cleared with no offer to pack up left overs, request to have them packed was not acknowledged.
This was a Mother's Day dinner seating so YMMV, but they should have been well prepared for higher demand.
Over the years, me and my wife have always been to all the Boathouse Restaurants and have been impressed with the food, service, ambiance and views. What a wonderful way to spend a evening!

Server David B was amazing!!!! Group of 5 and he was great!
My husband and myself had a very enjoyable buffet lunch on Mother’s Day. Our server, Sophie, was very pleasant and efficient. The restaurant was very busy, but the staff seemed to handle it well. The food was very tasty...my favourites were the Vegetable Penne, Chicken Strips and Baron of Beef. Will go back for another lovely meal.
The buffet was not maintained well, the food was badly picked over with few serving utensils available. Plates were not collected. Only one chef manning the pancake, carvery station. Condiments lacking. At $50 a plate it was very disappointing.
Food was okay but I don’t think it was up to par for a $50 brunch buffet.
The food and service was better than expected. The views make the whole experience even better.
Noticed a few things this visit. Size of meals was reduced quite noticeably. Food was good. Music was not great. View and service were excellent.
Thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at The Boathouse Rest. in White Rock on Saturday night. We had a lovely table for two by the window as requested. Both our meals were very good, attentive service & lovely view of Marine Drive & the ocean. The Maple Salmon was yummy 😋!!!
Hope the parking situation improves sooner than later. That was the only “down” side☹️. Otherwise, a GREAT 👍 evening!!
This was a disappointing experience. a) Despite indicating that this was a celebratory/birthday dinner via OpenTable, there was no recognition of this by the staff. b) The prosecco that was ordered came to the table at room temperature, not chilled. c) A bottle of wine was ordered as the main courses were served, and the bottle did not come until 15 min later. It was sent back-moment had passed by that point. d) Steak was ordered med rare; came and it was grey through the middle...med well to well done. e) Prawns ordered with steak were not seasoned. f) Maple planked salmon was not seasoned, didn't taste of cedar, nor maple, nor any seasoning. g) Vegetables (carrots and zucchini) that came as a side with steak or salmon were crunchy and raw. h) To be complete, the seafood ravioli and hamburger that were ordered were good. Server was indifferent, although the dining room was very busy. Probably will not return to Boathouse-White Rock for a couple years, if ever. I would have brought this up with the manager at the time, except I was dining with my family (teenagers) who did not want to go through the embarrassment of returning a steak, making a scene, etc. etc.
This location had been a favorite but no longer. Menu dishes not available (second time in a row). Of four meals, two were mediocre.
We had a lovely server. Very attentive. I always like the menu and the view is fabulous.
Excellent tasting food and ambiance was great, as well as our waitress! Definitely recommended to all my families and friends and can't wait to visit again!
All the staff were incredible. The food was delicious. I enjoy coming to the boathouse.
Family celebrating a 65th birthday
Food and service was great. My disappointment was that the restaurant did not put much effort into celebrating my 1 yr anniversary. For instance, it would of been nice if there was a thank you card for dining with them or a simple “happy anniversary” written on our dessert. I’m not sure if I would be coming back for any future celebrations.
Fabulous server (Chelsea). Attentiveness to needs of an elderly customer. Always good food. Great time to visit (4 pm) as it was quiet, conversation easy and service quick and we could linger. The Boathouse is our regular “go to” place.
I have dined here many times and find it to be wonderful each time! Sometimes just we two old ladies, other times with a group. Each time we are treated "royally"! The food is excellent - the wine choices are the best but the B52 coffee is superb! Of course I will be back again and again - and yes the view is a plus!
Great atmosphere, beautiful view. Food was mediocre. Had the west coast Benny trio. It was an English muffin topped with either a slap of ham, a few shrimp or salmon, egg and so so hollandaise sauce. Okay food but not great.
Every year we take advantage of the Landry’s Club birthday offer. Chelsea (sp?) was a terrific server and my steak was perfect. Made for a great night!
Everything was amazing!
Great location. Fantastic ocean view if you get a window seat. Friendly staff. Seafood is very good.
I did not like the cheesecake.. it looked like
Red marble and didnt taste good
Our go to place when staying in White Rock. It never disappoints.
The service is always good and the view is great. The restaurant was busy as it was a beautiful Sunny Sunday. My favourite - crab fest was on.
The whiskey crab soup was wonderful- highly recommend.
Caesar salad and firecracker shrimp great.
I was disappointed in the King Crab. We ordered one pound. It was extremely dry. Either over cooked or it sat for awhile. For the price I really believe that someone need to “be on top of this” ensuring fantastic quality.
Overall I love this restaurant just wouldn’t order that again.
Hey, we went early - quiet and great service. We will visit again.
We had not been to Boathouse for a couple of years but came back again and we were pleasantly surprised that you have returned to your good reputation of food and service that you had years ago. We had a great birthday dinner and an understanding waitress. Thank you..
Cousins birthday dinner.
Just one thing my steak gristly hard to chew but overall overall good date night
Had Maple Salmon on plank and Steak dish
On both, the flavours oh the potatoes were lacking - mashed potatoes could have had more flavour and cooked potatoes with salmon were bland - add some spices.
Put more salsa on salmon
Otherwise food was very good, service was excellent
Date night was wonderful and reasonable yet tasty ........ do date night more oftem
Very small portions on mixed seafood grill and for the price definitely not worth it- Male waiter was as exciting as watching your car rust- We were so looking forward to the evening but were really dissapointed
Food was amazing, our server went the extra mile to assure we had an unforgettable night. will dine again
I would recommend the Boathouse based on the food and the location/view, but the service was super slow. Nobody checked in with us after we were seated for 10-15 minutes, and after that we felt a little forgotten. The restaurant wasn’t all that busy, so I’m not sure what was going on.
We have eaten at this restaurant many times. The food quality on this occasion was noticeably below the standard of previous visits. A charbroiled steak was not seared, instead of medium rare it was served as medium. T he lobsters were in my mind, from Mexico or Asia as they in no way resembled an Atlantic Lobster. They were thin and tasteless. We had to specifically order melted butter which should automatically arrive before the meal is served. Overall this was a relatively poor experience at a fairly high price.
