Views outstanding and location very good. Plenty of parking. Food was good. I would recommend the salmon burger.. Best of all choices... Fish and chips a bit on the oilier side... Very accommodating and excellent service. Nice birthday celebratory place for dinner. Walked along the White Rock boulevard. Perfect weather and outstanding views.
We made a reservation for a special occasion. Service was awful. We sat for 20 mins before we were acknowledged- food arrived 1 hour after that. Our bill had a few errors, but we didn’t bother inquiring as it would have had to wait longer. Food was great, though. We were disappointed with the service and wouldn’t recommend to others unless it improves.
The only concern I have is I made reservations 3 days ahead of time for a window seat for 5 of us for a birthday dinner and they couldn’t help us out with that.
All and all food and service was very good and would definitely come back.
It was lovely, great food, great company, never a disappointment
The location is great. pay parking and finding parking on a sunny weekend is annoying.
Our greeter and seater was rude and disinterested at best.
Our server was great however and the manager introduced herself as well.
Food was above average to very good.
Tap beer was not cold but bottles were.
We sat on second level inside. It became very warm around 6-6:30 pm.
I will say again that our server was very pleasant and helpful.
Waitress was rude to each table. The excuse was the Sea Festival getting her too busy. The fork & spoon wee flying without apology. The ice water might not get after 30 minutes until further reminding, and again, replied with same reason for Sea Festival. The boathouse won’t support Sea Festival?
We arrived and they gave our table away to someone with the same first name but not last name. We had to wait as we had someone in a wheelchair and the restaurant was full with reservations . 5:30 sittting on a Saturday night and they had no oysters
This was a very special evening for us as one of my siblings is quite unwell and we just needed time together. The Boathouse always delivers great food. The only disappointment was that there were many empty tables as our meal ended, but we told we had 10" left until another group was coming to use our specific table, so we had to end our visit quickly. Yes, we had a corner window - but even the server admitted it was very warm there and that the rest of the restaurant was cooler. Was it really necessary to ask us to leave? Really? We chose this location for a specific reason, but I'm not sure we'll do it for reasons like this again.
I thought the food was good. The mixed grill seafood was a nice variety. The salmon could have used some sauce, though. The stuffed prawn was nice, two would have been nicer!!
The music was terrible, discordant, sounded like a radio off the station.
We noticed the furniture is getting shabby. Some major gouges out of chairs, and upholstery had threads hanging. Maybe take a look at each chair. It would only take minutes to correct minor problems and improve the ambience.
food was okay but super Salty. Which was disappointing because we brought friends and usually have a good experience. But not this time.
Service was slow and restaurant wasn’t busy. Fish tacos were dry, kids meals cold. We had the seafood platter to share which was great, the only reason we scored a 3. Highly unlikely we would be back with so many great restaurant options on the pier. Restaurant is outdated and ambiance lacking.
Good food....simple, nothing too extravagant!
Service was nice....
We took friends to the boathouse who were visiting from Toronto. This was their first visit to a Boathouse restaurant.
The restaurant could not get one of our friends salmon order cooked properly.
The first salmon order was served almost raw. Then it was sent back to the kitchen and it took a very
long time for the replacement salmon to arrive. By the time the replacement salmon arrived the rest
of us were done our dinners. When the replacement salmon finally arrived it again was very under cooked. I'm sorry that our friends had to face this less than enjoyable experience at the Boathouse.
The food was great, but not sure it was a good value. The view was beautiful and this is mostly why we go to the restaurant.
When booking our reservation I was asked if it was a special event and I said yes. Our disappointment was when asked by the server what the special event was, we said it is my wife's birthday. She was congratulated and then asked if she wanted dessert. She ordered dessert and it had a candle in the cake. Unfortunately, we waited 20 minutes for the cake to arrive at our table.
To our surprise, the cost of the cake was on our bill. We weren't really looking for a 'freebie', but perhaps they shouldn't ask what the special event is and then offer dessert. This implies that the restaurant is providing a dessert for the special event.
Celebrating our 45th anniversary with a great view, great food and great service. Rachel was awesome
Great menu, lots of options for everyone. Excellent location on the main strip of White Rock Ocean Park. Service was attentive. Kids menu available.
Wonderful spot for Brunch. Great views!
I always enjoy the food, the view and atmosphere at the Boathouse restaurant.
We had terrible service from start to finish . Unfriendly hostess .
Our waitress was very pleasant but was constantly forgetting things and seemed completely overwhelmed by the amount of tables she was serving and having to serve on all three levels of the restraunt.
We normally LOVE the firecracker shrimp appy but found it very sub par that evening . Lacking taste and very runny sauce . For 19$ I expect a lot more .
An expensive dinner , with poor service for my husbands 40th birthday 😒.
The BoatHouse is our “go to” for a nice dinner out , but came out very disappointed .
If our server and the manager weren’t already trying to sort out complaint issues with the table beside ours we would have also taken the time to share our thoughts of disappointment with our experience that night .
Food had been sitting under the food lamp leading it to be dry. the steak was over cooked. sent back to kitchen. when the steak was brought back it was way undercooked and cold
Our guests were happy with their Steak/prawns and Halibut. However my husband and I had clam chowder which was pasty due to the flour thickening agent, calamari which consisted of very small pieces which were over cooked and a huge amount of fried batter pieces. We shared the seafood platter.. not fully realizing it was more of an appetizer. Again more of the same calamari, hot crab dip was alright and coconut prawns ..which I buy at Costco ...Nothing appeared as fresh seafood. Disappointed for our meal.
My family enjoyed a beautiful dinner at this location. The food was amazing. I was expecting the portions to be small but they were the perfect size. The service was friendly and never had to wait on anything. The view from this restuarant was what attracted me to it, the ocean is stunning. All in all we had a fabulous time and will be returning back. Thank you!
For our 40th wedding anniversary (yes July 1st) we opted to sit with a view of the beach. So glad we did. Great service, great food and comfortable surroundings. Was very special.
Great in all respects.
All four of us thought the meals were excellent & the service was very good. We will return.
Took my Aunt there for the first time and had a fantastic lunch...she loved the view and the food!
Most definitely recommend coming here for a celebration of any sort. Everything was so well done, from the service, to the table, to the food and then the surprise birthday dessert - all of it was exceptional. I had never been before to this location and I will definitely be back. I've already bragged about how great everything was to my friends.
Great experience. The service was excellent and food quite good. This experience will be on the top of our list.
Great food, service, and the view is amazing! Highly recommended!
Was celebrating our 38th Anniversary at the Boathouse. Hadn’t been there for awhile so thought it would be nice. We had good service. The food was good but I have had way better and I thought it was pretty pricey for everything on the menu including the wine. The view is probably what most people go for
The White Rock Boathouse is the best Boathouse in our opinion. More personalized service, and a slower pace, making the experience more enjoyable. Salmon is always delicious, without fail.
Had a great lunch with my wife and an out of province friend. Our friend said that her crab cakes were the best she’d ever eaten.
Waited 15 minutes then had to go to the bar to ask if there is a server for our table. When server asked how our meal was, he walked away without acknowledging an answer. Was very disappointed this time round. I expected more from the Boathouse.
More brunch menu items and at least one brunch item for kida
Food and ambiance were excellent. Server was ok but we were seated next to a very large group with very loud and noisy children. We were on a date night and didn’t enjoy the noise level. We have 5 children and we have date night to escape children for a few hours once every 4-6 months. Otherwise it was nice and would come back for sure
Food, service and atmosphere were great. Only complaint was that we ordered mimosas and the champers was either flat or non-existent.
Had a very pleasant brunch today with family and enjoyed the meal and our server was outstanding!
