The food was amazing. Great value. Amazing location.
I reserved a table for my sons birthday, I had wanted to view the sunset with him. We had a table for 6 people and instead of getting the window seat as requested we were put into a both across the room. I even asked when we a second time when we arrived , but the lack of care for my request was noted. There was no effort to put tables together or accommodate us at all. I was very disappointed.
Very satisfied however the prices are quite steep!
Excellent. Food awesome. Service impeccable. We have been going white rock boathouse for 25 years.
The food was great! We would like to sit at the window one time. We never get the window.
The food was better than my expectations. I haven't been for quite awhile as my previous experience was ok, but not great. This time the food was more of what I would expect for this restaurant.
Delicious food, amazing view and great service! Would definitely go back for another meal.
We have been to the Boat House WR many times and have enjoyed our meals. Valentines Day was very disappointing. It was our 44th anniversary as well and we chose it for the ambience and advertised menu. We called ahead 4:00 pm to confirm our reservation and was told we didn't have one. I asked to speak to a manager as I had a confirmed reservation with Open table. The manager said he was too busy to take the call. Eventually they found our reservation. The server (did an amazing job considering how busy it was. Unfortunately our meals were very disappointing. I ordered the steak med rare and it was well done and tasteless. The prawns were underdone and the main veg was carrots. I also felt it was overpriced for the small portions. Unfortunately both my husband and I suffered gastrointestinal issues for most of the next day. We wondered about the prawns being underdone. Overall an F and disappointed.
I booked reservation a month ago. We were seated in a timely manner. Then we waited over an hour for our meal. It was brought to us and my steak was suppose to be medium well and it can very tough and blue rare. My wife’s dinner was very cold so we sent our dinners back. They brought out what appeared the same plates minutes later and no change. We left the restaurant and did not have valentines dinner. Not a good experience and would suggest manager contacts me a buys us dinner.
Felt rushed, no view, stuck very close to others, steak tough, expensive for what you get.
Everything was good but our waitress wasn't great. She didn't write our order down and brought us the wrong appetizer. I had a drink which was alcohol mixed with pop, but when I asked for another she accidentally brought me just a pop (forgot to put the alcohol in it). She corrected her mistakes when we brought it to her attention and was nice about it. The food itself was good.
We had a lovely brunch with a able by the window as I had requested. The food was delicious, lots of choices on the menu, and our waitress was very friendly and attentive.
Was an incredible meal and excellent service
Excellent service and great table. Reservations were really easy. Unfortunately the choice of food I made wasn't very good. Had hardly any taste. The rest was great. Thank you
I have been to this location many times over the years during the Dine Out Festival. Unfortunately, this time wasnt as enjoyable. Arrived at 430pm. Waited awhile to order. Ordered, and waited a very long time for the food. Didnt get bread that normally comes to the table (was thinking bread wasnt part of the Dine Out promo?). Finally, Emily comes and says "I'm not sure what's going on in the kitchen but your food will be out in two minutes. Would you like some bread?" Yes we do. Bread comes after about 15 mins later and the food comes out later than that. Almost felt like the order wasnt punched in at the beginning?? Sirloin was tender but not medium rare (more like medium?) Cod seemed overdone but hot. I don't know if Emily is new, but she seemed to be forgetting items like water refills, or to bring the desserts timely or the bill at the end, while trying to serve others at the same time. View is always great at this location which was used to pass the time while waiting.
Very much enjoyed our 'Dine out Vancouver' meal. Well done!
We were there for dine out and they are under staff. We also order crab cakes to start and it was awful for $19.99 it was not worth it. The food was not good. I’m not sure if all the boathouse are like that but we definitely didn’t enjoy this overprice two tiny piece of crab cakes at all.
We love Boathouse White Rock - perfect setting with perfect food. It does get a little noisy at times but we try to come earlier to avoid the crowds.
Great appetizers and dessert. Main courses were very disappointing and overpriced.
My Mom’s 67th Birthday
We love seafood and decided to come here for our fourth anniversary. It was Dine out Vancouver so we decided on the $45 choice and it was delicious. Our window seat in the corner was perfect for the busy restaurant. So glad we made reservations
Birthday, great food, window seat and even tho it was dark outside the trees looked so nice all lit up with white lights. So worth the drive from Abbotsford.
Service very slow. Server nice but seemed stretched pretty thin. Waited ages for water refills and in between courses. Seemed like they were short staffed.
We had a wonderful time at the Boathouse! The views are always incredible and the food is delicious! It’s always nice to see all generations dining together and different types of guests. We love it here!
It was horrible!! Our waiter was called away on an emergency. The hostess came and told us. We had already ordered our dinner and had our appetizers. 2.5 hours after our reservation, we asked the hostess where our dinner was and if it would be there shortly. She informed us that they hadn't even put the order in!! We had to reorder our dinner and wait for it to be brought to us. In total we were there for 3.5 hours!! And they didn't even offer to compensate us in anyway!! When our bill came, there were 3 couples with 3 different bills, one of the bills had a $35 discount on it and the other 2 had nothing. The food was delicious, but the hostess did not do her job properly, she should have checked with the kitchen if orders from the tables affected had been inputted and assigned another server to these tables. I will NEVER go to this restaurant again!!
We hadn't been to the Boathouse for years due to historical dissapointments. We must admit that the food was absolutely excellent on our recent visit!
We stood and waited for quite some time before a hostess came to seat us even though multiple servers walked by us.
Entrees came before appetizers were even half eaten.
Actual server was great though. View is beautiful.
I have regular items that i order from the menu (always seafood dishes) but I decided to have the lamb shank for a change. It was excellent served with mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables that were just lightly cooked. Whole meal was delicious.
The food is not worth the cost: salmon was dry, was told it would be medium. $45.00 dine out Vancouver menu was sparse to say the least, very small soup, only 5 ravioli & dessert...for $45.00?!. Chicken on chicken burger was smaller than the bun. If I am paying $$-$$$ I should be able to expect food, not walk out feeling ripped off. And we came in a group to celebrate 2 birthdays, which I specified in the online reservation. I had to order a couple of desserts and I was charged. Most restaurants would have comp'd at least one of them. Very disappointed.
Amazing food and care when it comes to Allergies!
We went to boathouse in white rock for my dads birthday. The waitress we had was absolutely terrible. She came to take our order and right off the bat she informed us that the kitchen has run out of their butter for the firecracker shrimp so she said the kitchen could make us something similar, which was just butter and chilli flakes (definitely not worth the $15 or whatever it was worth). After that our waitress came back twice, once for our order and once to give our food. She did not come back for water, which all of our glasses were empty (there was 5 of us). The other tables seemed to have great service with their servers, just not us. It was quiet unfortunate and underwhelming. We paid our bill and did not give a tip on the debit transaction because we left cash on the table. Yet she still had the audacity to ask about it on our way out. Maybe she would have gotten a better tip if she ACTUALLY was at our table and was doing a good job. This was not my first time at boathouse, I have been there a few times but it seems like it will be my last.
Great food. Really awful music. Did not suit the room.
Excellent food. Crab and lobster ravioli was fantastic
Celebrating New Year’s Day with family
Good food and good service. A little pricey as the restaurant needs reno.
Food wasn’t as good as usual probably because there were a lot of people for New Year’s Eve. Even though it was a preset menu the food was overcooked.
We’ve spent the past 4 New Years at the white rock Boathouse and it’s always been good. This time however, the food quality went down. Soup was not as hot as it could have been, steak and lobster were both overcooked. Vegetables were good though.
Seems like they had overbooked seating and when we arrived for our 8:00 reservation, we had to wait about 20 minutes for our table. I had asked when I booked the reservation for a window table but we were seated at the back of the restaurant, far from the windows. We have agreed that next New Years we will try another restaurant.
Service was top notch. Prix fixe dinner menu for NYE but enough selection for us to get what we wanted. I got the Mixed Seafood Grill and OH MY GOODNESS it was delicious. I can honestly I do not eat salmon, ever. But I ate it all, it was SO good. And the crab stuffed prawns? Even better than they sound.
And three words; Strawberry. Watermelon. Mojito. SO SO SO good!
Only downfall was our table location, way in the back corner and pretty cramped. I am 6 ft tall, my fiance is 6'4". So I took the less spacious side of the table. Pretty uncomfortable but I managed.
I ordered the Smoked Maple Salmon and it tasted terrible. I’ve dined at this location before and I’ve always had great food here but I was really disappointed. It was cold and tasted off. I had booked via Open Table and stated it was for a birthday however this was not acknowledged and we told the waitress as we were paying our bill and she seemed very nonchalant about it stating that typically when a reservation is made, we should make that known which I did. Overall it wasn’t a good experience. The menu has also changed. I won’t be returned to this location again.
Xmas experience was all we could hope for! Will return next year.
