The ambiance of this place is great as it's right by the water! They have quite a bit of variety, however, if you are vegan or vegetarian, I would suggest skipping this place as they only have yam fries to offer guests.

A tremendous disappointment. Undercooked fish, super slow service and not a good experience for Father's day. At 5pm, no one should have to wait that long for a meal.

Plates were dirty and requested to switch. Fish and chips were heavily battered. Flavour is ok. Bc wild salmon burger was tasty but fries were meh. Steamer mussel pot was good.

Although the waiter was very friendly, he interrupted our meal and conversation a bit too often. He would come back and say, "I can't remember if I asked you this but how was your meal?". Or, "I can't remember if I asked you this but did you want another drink?". After a while I got a bit annoying with the constant interruptions... But he was still very friendly. I had never had Poke before and very much enjoyed it.

Food was great. Ambience was perfect for our foursome. Not too noisy. We didn’t have to yell just to talk to each other.

Only thing that wasn’t great was that despite having a reservation we had to wait for 15+ minutes past our reservation time with guests who just walked in, and had to complain to the hostess why there’s such a long wait only to find out that there were so many empty tables. Didn’t make sense.

Other than that part everything else was great from the time we got seated. Our server was fantastic.

Beatlutiful evening. Good food, service was kind of slower but we didn’t care because we had the best view!! King crab legs were to die for!! Great experience overall.

Unfortunately the experience, except for our server, was very poor. We had the crab and shrimp omelette. Mine was ok but not very tasty. My friend’s omelette was over cooked. The nugget potatoes that came with it made me feel like they were from McCains and not hand made. The waiter was very friendly and attentive however did not know how to make a virgin mojito. First time around when he brought the drink the soda water was flat and it tasted like it was just a glass of water with mint leaves and a lime thrown in. When I brought it to his attention he promptly went to replace it but when he brought back a new one, yes it did have the bubble of soda water but still none of the other ingredients in a virgin mojito. I kind of got the feeling like this restaurant is suffering for business and instead of paying a bartender they were making the servers pour the drinks. I had not been back to this restaurant for 20 years and unfortunately will not go back again. It is not worth the high prices for mediocre food that Denny’s could make better. It’s a shame because this is a great location overlooking English Bay.

We have always like this restaurant. Great seafood menu with options for those not so inclined. Great view and ambience, one step down from fine dining. We were just a bit disappointed with our waitress this time. She was not as attentive as we are accustom to. Otherwise, it was a great meal.

Ambience and location is good. Can't beat the view. Service was as expected for this level and location of restaurant (prime tourist area). Greeting staff were ok. Our server was good.

However food wise was only so so. Prices are high for what it is. My mom's 9 oz sirlion was ordered medium...and for the most part it was...but the meat itself was dry and was over seasoned (too salty).

Portion size...again what is expected for this class and location. Moderate portion size.

Come here for the view...and service. You can get better food elsewhere.

We ordered the crab dip as an appetizer and felt the ratio of dip to chips was a bit heavy on the chip side. The grilled seafood and snow crab legs were delicious as usual. The butter bowl is always a nice touch.

Although we have enjoyed eating several times at the Boathouse in White Rock, after making reservations to stop by English Bay upon arrival, enroute from Horseshoe Bay to where we are staying in Langley, we discovered that there was absolutely no place to park a vehicle anywhere near this restaurant and if there was it is only by permit. Disappointed we could not dine here and frustrated with the local bylaws.

The food was very good, no one had any complaints. Waiter was knowledgeable of the menu items, but his big push was the "Rewards program" and went on length over and over about the discount, the us exchange benefit and restaurants..Too much, too long of a pitch..During the meal when he came back to see if we would sign-up and we declined, he lost all interest in our table..Had to chase someone for a spoon for the pasta and more coffee which did not happen..

Sadly the food wasn’t very good , we all felt a little sick from the fish later at home , my chili chicken was not good , the waiter was ( guy with long hair in a bun ) honestly grumpy and on edge. Like I get happier more professional and kind service at red robins ....
beautiful place great atmosphere but for the price and location , blown away by what I just listed above .
Just being honest . It was my sisters birthday and my mom doesn’t have a lot of money
. I feel bad that she spent it here.

This place is long past its prime. Disappointing to see what it's become, given the great English Bay location.

The vegan/vegetarian options, or lack thereof, are an embarrassment especially given the health focus of a city like Vancouver. As a result, hosting business dinners here should be reconsidered if anyone may have a dietary restriction.

The interior is very tired, and dark.

Ultimately, it's a great location wasted. Go elsewhere.

The view was fantastic. The service was just okay. Wasn’t told what the specials were, didn’t get refills unless we asked.
The steak was very good. The halibut was very disappointing. Expected a nice halibut steak for $40. Instead of was breaded and fried. Was not expecting that.
The waterfront view was amazing. Would go back but would hope for better service and wouldn’t order the halibut next time.

I have been at this restaurant several times and the food is always good. The waiter this time was great.
The one thing that was truly disappointing was the reception. I had booked well in advance a table for 8 people at 6:00 pm. I also called to confirm the time and the number of people. However, when we arrived at 6:00 pm, our table was not ready. The receptionists made us wait downstairs for 12 minutes and when they brought us to our table, the waitresses were still finishing cleaning the table from the previous guests. I expect the table to be ready at the time of the reservation or there is no point in having made a reservation. In addition, having said during the reservation that we were celebrating a special occasion, I was expecting to have a table close to the windows.

this place has gone downhill. the meal was barely edible. we ordered lobster ($50) and king crab. the crab was not fresh at all, it was very fishy and barely edible. the lobster was overcooked and very chewy, again barely edible. most of the vegetables on the plate were raw. 3 raw pieces of carrot, 3 tiny raw pieces of cauliflower, a scoop of cold mashed potatoes and overcooked lobster for $50. we also ordered a steak... it was bland, the only taste was char. I could have found a better meal in a garbage can or roadkill. our server was horrible as well. bussers brought out our meals, drinks etc. during the entire experience the server did not even once check up on us. this was a horrible experience... I think we deserve a reward for not walking out. I would never ever ever go to this overpriced joke of a "restaurant" again. I plan on being extremely vocal about this to friends/family to make sure they don't waste their hard earned money at this place.

Sunny day on the Beach brings a certain vibrancy to the Boathouse. We were celebrating a post graduate convocation and The Boathouse was our choice. Celebration cocktails, sharing plates and a hearty delicious main course!
The service was attentive to our needs! Thank you!

It was a beautiful night so the view of the sunset over the water was amazing. However, the food was not visually appealing (looked like a frozen dinner) and didn’t taste all that good either. For a restaurant that is known for seafood, I would expect my lobster not to be over cooked among other things. Great place for date night cocktails because of the view but I would suggest eating elsewhere.

I didn't have a good experience over there on last Saturday. Maybe there was too busy, we didn't get water filled until we asked for. And the waitress didn't honestly tell me the price with a lobster add-on price. When I asked for the lobster add-on price, she said $15 each and she didn't mention each add-on come with two. further more, when we got the bill it was $39.99 for two lobsters...so, our bill was $384 something....I paid it, but didn't like the feel been treated. We can afford the dinner, but please be honest and tell everything to the customer when they placing the order.

We had planned dinner, it was to follow a long day. We ordered New York Steak and Lobster, an expensive meal. The vegetables were not cooked, Had to use a knife to cut, left them on plate. Steak was served medium rare to our liking, but was cold, butter/garlic medallion served on top of steak was rock solid and did not melt. Lobster was cold and rock hard, could not eat with fork or dip in butter. Had to eat lobster like a chicken leg, with our hands and literally tear the meat out with our teeth. Too tired to complain. Waiter did not serve dinner or perhaps we would have commented. Requested VIP card, cost was added to bill, like we were to tip on it. Saw waiter when we placed our order and when we received the bill. It was my Mother's 74th birthday, again, would have complained but did not want to create a scene. Made the best of a terrible dinner.

The view of the sunset was wonderful! Service was good, but the food was lacking. Husband got the special - seafood cream pasta - and it was bland. Server took off the price of the ceasar salad from our bill, but that seemed weird as it should have been the pasta. I had the crusted halibut and it was pretty good, not over the top.

I am a fan of The Boathouse in other locations but found this visit a little underwhelming. We ate in the lower level and maybe the experience might have been better upstairs. The decor is tired and it seemed understaffed when we visited.
It needs some TLC. The location is great though.
