A warm welcome and a friendly, well-informed server greeted us and led us through the unique menu. Fantastic food prepared with care and attention to detail. Grounded in historical Canadian cuisine, this Chef puts a contemporary spin on all dishes. Servings are moderately small and meant to be shared, similar to a tapas-style approach. The Bison Ribeye with parsnip three ways stands out for me this visit. But not to be overlooked is the wonderful Pouding Chomeur for dessert! The maple whiskey sauce is mind-blowing! We’re already planning our next visit to this fabulous restaurant!!

A wonderful restaurant. I’ve eaten at Boralia several times and have always enjoyed a great meal. The tasting menu is a particular bargain—you get pretty much everything on the menu at a great price.

Went for a Valentines Day date. Was fantastic. The plates were interesting and delicious. The Carte Blanche was a great choice, we were pleasantly surprised by each course.

We had a great experience at Boralia for a birthday dinner. We did they carte blanche menu which was exceptional and delicious. You pay a flat 60 per person and they bring you a very in depth and extensive tasting menu. We were blown away by the staffs knowledge on the ingredients, and the stories that came with many of the dishes. Was a cool little add on that they put the dates of the some of the recipes on the menu (one was from 1604)! Overall would totally recommend for foodies who want a unique dining experience on Ossington!

We are visiting Toronto and Boralia was recommended by a friend. It is a small intimate bistro serving a unique tasting/sharing menu created using historic traditional Canadian recipes as the start for their creative modern menu. The food was outstanding and the servers warm, welcoming, attentive and knowledgeable. Looking forward to the chance to visit again!

My husband were on vacation and I actually found this restaurant recommended in a travel guide. I was glad I made reservations because it was busy. We ordered five plates to share for the two of us (plus one dessert) and that was a perfect amount. We had the mussels from Vancouver Island that were the plumpest ones I've ever eaten, the mushroom salad that tasted so buttery even tho it's vegan!, the delicately seasoned trout, the pigeon pie that was so tender, and the venison that was also so tender and seasoned perfectly. Capped it off with a tawny port and the rustic cake. Perfect meal! Highly recommend Boralia!!!

absolutely incredible - the chef is awesome, and a really nice guy who came out to say Hi. Really appreciate what they're doing there from Farm to Table to making truly creative but incredibly beautiful and tasty food.

This place is known for their non-conventional choice of meat and inspiration from old Canadian cuisine, and we were pleasantly surprised. We ordered the foie gras parfait and the pigeon pie, which are apparently afew of their signature dishes. The foie gras was very smooth (although we felt it was better to let it soften for 5 minutes after they served it rather than eating it immediately). Pigeon pie was fantastic, meat was not gamey at all. We are small eaters, so these 2 dishes were enough to already fill us up. But we will definitely return as there are more dishes that we wanted to try.

Step through the velvet curtain at the entrance of Boralia, and into everything warm and twinkly! A small, quiet place where everything has a light touch and a delicate sparkle....from laid back but obviously knowledgable service from our servers to the light puffs of potato cake, oh mama the cod cheeks, the sweetbreads, and the cocktail/wine list, every single thing that was put in front of me was a gentle delight. Not show-offy, brash, or heavy-handed like too many salt/acid/grease heavy Toronto restaurants, Boralia is a delicate, almost perfect gem of a place, very Canadian of it. Love!

Decided to try this place out as my friend recommended it. I'm not the biggest adventurer when it comes to food but I checked out the menu online and they had items I would be interested in trying. They weren't that out there. Their menu is seasonal so there were a couple of items I wanted to try but not there (i.e. scallops and apricot dumpling). I was pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed most of what I ate. The live and fois gras was divine, the mussels were huge and tasty and the whelk was different. Would go back again and try other dishes next time as well as reordering the liver and fois gras and mussels.

Only complaint is that the servers need to be more attentive with delivering orders. One server (the bartender) delivered to the wrong table (on our left) and then another server delivered our food to another wrong table (on our right). The place is not that big, probably like 12 tables in total so why can't the server figure out the numbering system.

With that said, our server (didn't catch his name) was very patient and warm. I had a few questions and he was very diligent getting the answers and did not seem irritated by me, the curious patron with questions and requests.

Fast exceeded our expectations! Tried about 8 dishes on the menu including the four gras which was heavenly and the best I've ever tasted! Would highly recommend and definitely return.

Food was delicious, service excellent. The Experience was somewhat marred by the boisterous hooting and howling at the table next; obviously not the fault of the restaurant but of the other inconsiderate diners. Serving sizes seemed very small for tapas and the price, in my opinion, but the food was also very rich, so maybe small servings were probably a good thing. Dessert lacklustre at best, which was a disappointing finish to an otherwise delicious meal. (Although the coffee ice cream I would buy by the gallon!). The duck was perfect, outstanding. An interesting and well thought out dish. Sweetbreads delicious but extremely rich; thank God for the bitter greens. Tea eggs nice but underwhelming. Mussels beautifully scented with a lovely broth, extremely fresh and satisfying. Overall a lovely meal.

My friend, who was visiting from out of town, loves to try new restaurants and loves food. We both loved our dinner at Boralia. Great ambience and service, Bustling but still intimate. But the food was the star--unique and beautiful dishes, cerebral but so enjoyable as well. My friend said she had never had anything like it and I felt the same. Our favourite dish was the sweetbreads and the mushroom salad, the fritters up there as well. But the whelk, parfait also delicious.

We had been to an event at Boralia before, so this was our first solo visit. They are a small dish place, and we found 6 plates worked well for 2 for dinner.
Each dish was magnificent! Unique and flavourful! Gluten issues were handled expertly, and service was generally very attentive. Will definitely return, and recommend!

We had enjoyed Boralia a couple of times before and took our son for an early Friday evening dinner while he was visiting from out of town. The three of us thoroughly enjoyed the diverse courses and shared almost everything. The restaurant was accommodating for gluten free diets though not many items were gluten free as set out on the menu. Eclectic mix of cocktails! Our seating was not very comfortable and they offered to move us but we'd have to leave earlier, so we declined. Overall a great dining experience with lots to talk about afterwards.

Very happy with the overall service and food was bite size, which was good to try everything on the menu. A good environment for a romantic night out especially they surprise my husband for a birthday candle on the dessert which we ordered, definitely will recommend others to dine at this restaurant. ;)

From the snacks, through dinner to the deserts, everything was just right. The pace of service was perfect. All the dishes we tried were stellar but if I had pick just one I would say you have to have the Grilled Mushroom Salad. Bon Appétit!

All the dishes ordered was delicious and beautifully presented especially the grilled whelk, the mushroom salad and the pigeon pie. One friend said the mussels were the best he ever had and that this meal was one of the most pleasant and enjoyable. Service was attentive and knowledgeable and the ambiance was relaxed and casual. A great evening. Will definitely return.
