Excellent dining experience, excellent food and ambiance
Our waitress, as well as everyone who assisted her were great. We were really impressed with with Vegan menu options. Unfortunately, a man was seated next to us on his phone conducting business and crawled under the table to plug in his phone, which was annoying. We will return.
I attended the winterlicious dinner 2019 and I loved the dining experience. The food was delicious, all the courses were well prepared and presented. We were briefed about the contents of our dish on presenting our plate, by the server, like most of the upscale restaurants. The Smoked Potato Salad - Broccolini, Celery, Guanciale, Buttermilk Dressing was different and delicious. I loved the way it was put together. It wasn't salty at all, which is a key thing to my taste buds. I love fish to be cooked at the prefect texture, but something was not right about the cod. It was perfectly seared, on the top, with light crumbs but at the bottom, it felt a bit off. Not sure, if this was the way the fish was supposed to be cooked. Other than the fish, our overall experience was excellent. I enjoy dining at the Bosk.
Nice food and service, definitely will recommend friends to come. We had 4 people but sit in a small table for two with a lot of big empty tables left. Arrangement was not ideal and the price was a bit high for the food.
My second dining experience with Bosk was a very memorable one on Chinese New Year’s Eve. The Winterlicious menu offered plenty of choices and the food was delicious! I went with the wine pairings with the 3-course dinner which was great value for money. Our server Lauren was attentive and accommodating. Overall a wonderful experience to celebrate Chinese New Year!
Overall, very good, but service was really slow towards the end. Waited a while for dessert when we were trying to get back to the office after lunch.
Winterlicious - would definitely return! Impeccable service and fare.
Server was extremely knowledgeable about the wine and the menu. We did the winterlicious menu and it was wonderful. Definitely recommend and will go back!
First experience here at Bosk, dining in for their Winterlicous menu. Perfect timing for celebrating a new job, we had a great time.
Lauren, our server was polite, humourous and professional. The other hotel staff we engaged with were gracious and accommodating .... overall a terrific experience
Went for winterlicious 2019, food was lovely and tasted great. I enjoyed the duck entree the most, the duck was seasoned and cooked superbly and the crunchiness of the parsip pastry was interesting. Our waiter was attentive and helpful when deciding on items or choices. I would probably go again for a special occasion as the drinks are expensive. $18+ for a cocktail.
The restaurant itself didn’t have the greatest food, we enjoyed the loubge afterwards though
The last two years winterlicious menu are quite impressive, but this year make me quite disappointed, too plaine not creative, making you feel not having the food in a five star hotel, the trout is pan fried with side dish of four whole pok choy, seasoned only with salt, all you can taste is salty, salty, the presentation of the plate looks poor
winterlicious lunch menu is pretty awesome!
The food was amazing and the wine pairings went along perfectly! Our waiter was very friendly and helpful.
Did the Winterlicious menu. Amazing food and service, will definitely be back!
This was our first time at BOSK. We went for winterlicious.
Every course we had was very flavourful. The service was great and so was the ambience! Definitely recommend it!
Great service- their self brewed lager is definitely worth a try.
We made the reservation with Open Table and received a confirmation number, when we arrived at Bosk, they had no record of the reservation under our name or the confirmation #, it was very awkward! Fortunately, the restaurant could accommodate a walk in request.
The service was amazing! Everyone was really attentive and polite. 10/10 customer service. The food was amazing as well. Starting with bread and butter MY GOSH It was unlike anything I've ever tasted. It was like a bun with the many spices. For dinner I had the soup and steak with a potato puree. Then for dessert I had the cinnamon raisin toffee (mouth watering). For my drink, the titiki, hands down one of the best mixed drinks I've ever had for that price. They really know what they're doing there!
Service and food was great. We enjoyed the peacefulness of the dining experience, unlike other nearby restaurants.
The service was very good and I’m looking forward to there again
Great restaurant. Incredible atmosphere and tasteful decor. Kevin, our server, was very knowledgeable and friendly and made for a fantastic guide through the tasting menu which we could customize to accommodate dietary restrictions unlike many other places. Food was truly exceptional. Thank you to Kevin and the entire team for a wonderful birthday dinner. We’ll be back!
My husband and I went before the symphony and ordered off the 3-course prix fixe pre-theatre menu which was of great value and a nice trim version of the full menu. The restaurant is beautiful and since we were there so early, it was quite relative to the bustling lobby. The bread and cinnamon butter was addictive. We both started with the squash soup which was hot and wonderfully flavoured with savoury granola. We both had the duck confit as a main which we thoroughly enjoyed. The duck leg was hot and crisp, tender and perfectly seasoned. The accompaniment of kale, white bean and turnip left something to be desired. It felt as though something was missing in pulling them together, whether it was seasoning or the fact that I was expecting them to have been cooked together but it felt like they were each put on the plate individually. The roasted potato side was perfectly done. My husband had a dulce cheesecake with espresso ice cream for dessert that he thoroughly enjoyed - from one bite I would agree. My dessert was a bit disappointing. Sticky toffee pudding with poached pears, walnuts and ginger ice cream. The ginger ice cream was great as was the pudding, however there were a few walnuts that seemed a bit more burnt that was intended on purpose, lending a bitter flavour to the toffee sauce. The wait staff were exceptionally attentive, kind and very considerate of our timeline. I would definitely return given that overall it was a lovely and yummy experience.
We were not impressed at all. Good service, but food is mediocre and absolutely not worthy its price. I am disappointed. Was definitely expecting more,
We went for a normal Sunday brunch on a chilly Sunday afternoon, instead the Hyatt one . The food the service were great .
But it’s a little bit cold sitting by the windows . I would recommend here .
Best experience at a hotel, anywhere, even over seas. Unexpected, every staff member had a smile. Truly shangri-la
It was Christmas Eve so kitchen was super busy and we waited quite a bit but the waiter was SUPER nice and attentive and was told that drinks was on them (due to the wait). Amazing service and food was very sophisticated in both flavour and texture. Superb quality and skill and my mother was highly impressed! A little complimentary treat at the end was delightful and would have bought a box full of them chocolates for take out! Great place for special occasions for sure. The only thing I would note would be that considering it’s Christmas Eve, they should have had musicians playing on stage with the grand piano... it was very quiet indeed... also there was a slight miscommunication as I was emailed the holiday menu but in fact it was only on the Christmas Day that they offered not the eve so we were a bit confused as to why they emailed me the holiday menu in the first place. But ya overall wonderful experience and will definitely be back!
Amazing - for brunch, lunch or dinner or even high tea! All around fantastic!
Great food and ambiance. Bad espresso though - I suspect they’re using a pod machine which wasn’t fitting for this type of venue.
The food I order was over cooked the hash brown and too much salt. The bread and butter was nice the soup but also the waiter which started with us never come back after he took our order and our main course came very late and other people that where seat after came first.
Thank you Shangri-La! It was our first time dining with you & we will be back. Your great service, exquisite menu & beautiful ambiance made it a special night to remember. It was my fiancé & I’s birthday and you surprised us with a delicious dessert each to top it all off. The bar scene was great to lounge after & listen to some great music. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Booked the restaurant to celebrate our anniversary and I indicated this in my reservation, however looks like that aspect was ignored. The restaurant didn’t do anything special so don’t know the point of indicative reason for the booking. Food needs improvement but the service was good.
An enjoyable pre-theatre dining experience which came with a surprise dessert replacement (chocolate). Thanks to great service we were in and out in 90 minutes without feeling rushed.
The waitress and server were not able to recall each guest’s order for a table of 6 when there were fewer than 5 tables. Food is still great but service is underwhelming at best.
Decided on this restaurant after viewing the menu online and we were prepared for what would be a great meal based on what we had seen online. Except they had changed the menu 3 days earlier and not bothered to update the website with the new menu. So, not only did the new menu not have what we wanted, we were recommended a side and when our mains came, they forgot it. Further, the wine list was sub-par given the prices charged per glass. Overall, not impressed and certainly not worth the money versus other restaurants in other cities (or Toronto for that matter).
BOSK is our go-to restaurant for a pre-theatre dinner. It's just steps away from the Four Seasons, so that makes it especially convenient. But what brings us back time and again is the combination of pleasant, professional service (all the staff are great, but if I had to single anyone out, it's Sydney -- he's a fantastic waiter) and really imaginative and deftly prepared dishes. One day I really do have to eat there at a normal hour (we usually arrive at 5:45 pm -- crazy early) and experience a proper evening devoted to dinner and dinner alone. The quality of the food alone is enough temptation!
A perfect restaurant for a pre-show classy dinner. Highly recommended.
Service and food was excellent:)
My maincourse had a very horrible smell to it and they didn't even take it off the menu considering I didn't even eat it. The server was pleasant. Ambience is nice.
