My husband and I went before the symphony and ordered off the 3-course prix fixe pre-theatre menu which was of great value and a nice trim version of the full menu. The restaurant is beautiful and since we were there so early, it was quite relative to the bustling lobby. The bread and cinnamon butter was addictive. We both started with the squash soup which was hot and wonderfully flavoured with savoury granola. We both had the duck confit as a main which we thoroughly enjoyed. The duck leg was hot and crisp, tender and perfectly seasoned. The accompaniment of kale, white bean and turnip left something to be desired. It felt as though something was missing in pulling them together, whether it was seasoning or the fact that I was expecting them to have been cooked together but it felt like they were each put on the plate individually. The roasted potato side was perfectly done. My husband had a dulce cheesecake with espresso ice cream for dessert that he thoroughly enjoyed - from one bite I would agree. My dessert was a bit disappointing. Sticky toffee pudding with poached pears, walnuts and ginger ice cream. The ginger ice cream was great as was the pudding, however there were a few walnuts that seemed a bit more burnt that was intended on purpose, lending a bitter flavour to the toffee sauce. The wait staff were exceptionally attentive, kind and very considerate of our timeline. I would definitely return given that overall it was a lovely and yummy experience.
We were not impressed at all. Good service, but food is mediocre and absolutely not worthy its price. I am disappointed. Was definitely expecting more,
We went for a normal Sunday brunch on a chilly Sunday afternoon, instead the Hyatt one . The food the service were great .
But it’s a little bit cold sitting by the windows . I would recommend here .
Best experience at a hotel, anywhere, even over seas. Unexpected, every staff member had a smile. Truly shangri-la
It was Christmas Eve so kitchen was super busy and we waited quite a bit but the waiter was SUPER nice and attentive and was told that drinks was on them (due to the wait). Amazing service and food was very sophisticated in both flavour and texture. Superb quality and skill and my mother was highly impressed! A little complimentary treat at the end was delightful and would have bought a box full of them chocolates for take out! Great place for special occasions for sure. The only thing I would note would be that considering it’s Christmas Eve, they should have had musicians playing on stage with the grand piano... it was very quiet indeed... also there was a slight miscommunication as I was emailed the holiday menu but in fact it was only on the Christmas Day that they offered not the eve so we were a bit confused as to why they emailed me the holiday menu in the first place. But ya overall wonderful experience and will definitely be back!
Amazing - for brunch, lunch or dinner or even high tea! All around fantastic!
Great food and ambiance. Bad espresso though - I suspect they’re using a pod machine which wasn’t fitting for this type of venue.
The food I order was over cooked the hash brown and too much salt. The bread and butter was nice the soup but also the waiter which started with us never come back after he took our order and our main course came very late and other people that where seat after came first.
Thank you Shangri-La! It was our first time dining with you & we will be back. Your great service, exquisite menu & beautiful ambiance made it a special night to remember. It was my fiancé & I’s birthday and you surprised us with a delicious dessert each to top it all off. The bar scene was great to lounge after & listen to some great music. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Booked the restaurant to celebrate our anniversary and I indicated this in my reservation, however looks like that aspect was ignored. The restaurant didn’t do anything special so don’t know the point of indicative reason for the booking. Food needs improvement but the service was good.
An enjoyable pre-theatre dining experience which came with a surprise dessert replacement (chocolate). Thanks to great service we were in and out in 90 minutes without feeling rushed.
The waitress and server were not able to recall each guest’s order for a table of 6 when there were fewer than 5 tables. Food is still great but service is underwhelming at best.
Decided on this restaurant after viewing the menu online and we were prepared for what would be a great meal based on what we had seen online. Except they had changed the menu 3 days earlier and not bothered to update the website with the new menu. So, not only did the new menu not have what we wanted, we were recommended a side and when our mains came, they forgot it. Further, the wine list was sub-par given the prices charged per glass. Overall, not impressed and certainly not worth the money versus other restaurants in other cities (or Toronto for that matter).
BOSK is our go-to restaurant for a pre-theatre dinner. It's just steps away from the Four Seasons, so that makes it especially convenient. But what brings us back time and again is the combination of pleasant, professional service (all the staff are great, but if I had to single anyone out, it's Sydney -- he's a fantastic waiter) and really imaginative and deftly prepared dishes. One day I really do have to eat there at a normal hour (we usually arrive at 5:45 pm -- crazy early) and experience a proper evening devoted to dinner and dinner alone. The quality of the food alone is enough temptation!
A perfect restaurant for a pre-show classy dinner. Highly recommended.
Service and food was excellent:)
My maincourse had a very horrible smell to it and they didn't even take it off the menu considering I didn't even eat it. The server was pleasant. Ambience is nice.
Really classy dinning spot. The food is exquisite, the ingredients are transformed, both to the palate and the eyes! Refined dinning for sure!
The services are excellent. The servers and receptionist were happy to provide good services and accommodated reasonable requirements from us . Thanks
Overall - meh.
Got seated in the very back corner (which is fine) but we were surrounded by large, loud parties and dirty tables. The tables around us stayed dirty for over 2 hrs!
Our view was dirty tables, the waiter on his cell phone and the bussing station.
Service was slow, slow, slow. Everything took forever making the dinner almost 3 hours.
Food was blah. Pea Soup was great, octopus was so tough and flavourless. I have a feeling it sat under a heat lamp. The course between the soup and octopus took approx. 45mins.
Salmon was fantastic, lamb was also great.
Dessert was dessert.
The $95 price point was great so I guess you get what you pay for.
Would I go here again? No
Would I recommend it? No
Delicious desserts and cocktails .
The band was a bit loud, but overall
It was great gastronomic experience
I was most impressed with the rib steak I had. I seldom bother to order a steak in Toronto because they are usually a waste of time and money compared with the beef we eat at home. Glad I took chance at BOSK!
Incredible experience. Amazing staff. Delicious food and drink. Enjoyable atmosphere.
You’re looking at $100 per person before drinks but it’s worth it. Incredible meal!
Service was terrible..... had to ask to order a drink after sitting for 10 min.... had to ask for bread, 10 min after we ordered our meals a waiter came to our table and said, are you ready to order now! Brutal....had to ask to have my dirty plates taken away from me, before I threw them on the floor they brought the wrong sides with our meals had to ask for desert menu had to finally ask for our bill so we could end the painful experience....we don’t even know who our waiter was .... 4 different people were serving out table.... nice way to spend your anniversary and spend $350! Won’t waste my time or money there again....
We dined here for my friends birthday and everything was wonderful. I plan on coming back again.
Food was excellent and service was speedy. Lighting was odd and restaurant had an odd entrance and no official reception area. Food and presentation were impeccable.
The services were excellent. The manager was great. My guests and I were so pleased from arrival of the restaurant to leaving.
Amazing dinner. Had the four course meal. Every part of the meal was delicious and our server was the best. Definitely recommend BOSK if you are considering eating here. They also have a vegan/vegetarian menu as well. I had the pea soup/agnolotti/lamb which were delicious.
Excellent food and service.. definitely would come back .. highly recommended.. a bit pricy but it worth every penny ..
This is an unexpected find. Very chic, relaxing and the food is amazing. Great cocktails. Excellent wines.
Services was great but everything took very long. Food service was not at par of what I would have expected. A good experience overall but by no means superb. Average hotel overpriced meal with ambiance in lobby that doesn't make it to the restaurant.
First appetizer is too salty for me and my date. The scallop and the chicken in the third and fifth picture is perfect with their excellent food quality and the way they were made. Their signature dry-aged steak (fourth) is ok maybe above average, since my requirement for steak is ridiculously high. Dessert was peach ice-cream and pumpkin pie with rice ice-cream and it was the best pumpkin dessert I’ve ever had. Service is not perfect but good. Prices are fair. Overall it worth a try.
It was the best fusion cuisine I have come across in Toronto - the scallops, calamari, salmon were all exquisite!
Our dinner lasted almost 3 hours, mainly because the waiting time between courses was excessive. The service was attentive but often sluggish, even for simple requests like a dessert menu. Food was delicious, hearty, and quite creative, but at times, too rich and salty for my taste. Overall for the value and service, the meal for a special occasion was good, but not exceptional for such a world-class hotel brand.
I have been coming here for the past 6 years and it has always been a great time. Service is absolutely phenomenal. Food is great. Live music is a plus.
staff very friendly.
neee more selections on the menu.
chairs need pads on leg bottoms .
not enough value for the $.
Need to open up their street entrances to the restaurant rather than force everyone coming from the south to double back through the hotel entrance on the north side of the block. Not clear where to enter from the intersection at the street. Otherwise, great resto.
The staff at Bosk are very professional and courteous. The food is excellent and well plated. I went there for a business lunch and was seated beside a wall, so I lost the experience of enjoying this nice restaurant. It would have been nice to sit somewhere else given it wasn't too busy. They could have asked. Otherwise, the calamari was excellent, the fish sandwich was tasty, and the chocolate dessert was perfect. Enjoy.
