Es hat uns gut gefallen, urige Berliner Kneipe mit gutem Essen. Am Fenster war es etwas kühl und zügig, aber als wir den Platz gewechselt hatten, war alles bestens.

We were looking for a genuine German pub that looked the way restaurants did in the past. Maybe we found exactly what we were looking for in Bötzow Privat. Here I imagine it has looked the same for 100 years, a task I cannot confirm when large parts of Berlin lay in ruins after the war? Anyway, here goes the one who wants to experience the old, the genuine and the rustic. The food is tasty and well cooked without reaching heavenly heights. On the other hand, the price is moderate and this makes the overall impression good.

Everything was accurate, very friendly, polite, helpful staff with a nice smile made us comfortable! Even this was our first visit, we felt welcomed and had a wonderful evening. Several kinds of beer we tried were all excellent, and the salad, meatballs, cheese noodles and apple strudel were so tasty and good!! So glad we chose this place to visit all the way from Japan. People keep coming in and the place is always full, so you should definitely make a reservation! We would love to visit again!

Nice classic Berlin pub in a nice setting in the old Jewish section of town. It's far enough away from the touristy area around Brandenburg Gate so you don't get the over-priced food and over-crowdedness of those restaurants, but it's close enough (2 stops away from Brandenburg Gate by SBahn) to be convenient if you are doing some sightseeing. They have an extremely limited menu (only 5 dishes total, 2 of them vegetarian), but it includes some classic Berlin dishes, which is a nice change from the touristy Bavarian-style German restaurants in other areas. Not a bad place to take visitors to the city!

Das Bötzow Privat ist ein Lokal, wie es besser kaum sein kann: kurze Karte, unprätenziös, meisterlich zubereitete Gerichte, gradlinig aber rafiniert in der Umsetzung. Der Service höflich, zuvorkommend, humorvoll und geduldig, auch mit unentschlossenen oder fremdsprachlichen Gästen. Die Portionen sind den sonst eher mächtigen deutschen Gerichten so bemessen, dass man auch gerne noch eines der guten Desserts nimmt, ohne danach in Ohnmacht zu verfallen. Das Lokal an sich könnte authentischer nicht sein - das wunderschöne Kneipenmobiliar allein ist den Besuch schon wert. Mit Abstand eines der besten Preis-Leistungsverhältnisse in dieser gentrifizierten Gegend. Bötzow Privat is a must on any tourists bucket-list for German cuisine and hospitality. They have a short menu, unpretentious, masterfully prepared dishes, straightforward, yet refined in their creation. The service is courteous, accommodating, humorous and patient, even with undecided, choosy, or foreign-language guests. The rich German dishes are measured so that you can certainly like to take one of the exceptional good desserts - after all, you're on holiday, right? The place itself could not be more authentic - the beautiful pub furniture alone is worth the visit. By far one of the best value for money in this gentrified area.

Mi pareja y yo disfrutamos aquí de la cena de nochevieja. Magnífica comida, magnífico servicio y magnífica experiencia. Como áreas de mejora, el precio de 49€ por el menú de nochevieja podría haberse ajustado algo más y las mesas estaban demasiado juntas a las de otros comensales, reduciendo mucho la privacidad de las conversaciones. Por último resaltar la simpatía y saber hacer del staff: increíble verles atender a cada mesa en su idioma siempre con una sonrisa en la cara.

This was our first night in Berlin and we enjoyed the restaurant very much. The setting was pleasant, pub-like, comfortable and in a nice neighborhood. Service was very good as well. The veal schnitzel was good although maybe a bit under seasoned for our tastes but good and huge. One plate would have fed three people. Excellent garden salad with goat cheese salad and really good warm potato salad. We would go back if given the opportunity. Good value for the price.

This is our second visit to this restaurant and it did not disappoint us. The food is authentic and we love the ambiance. We were here in August of 2018 and all decided to order Veal Schnitzel (with creamy chanterelle) which was tender, freshly made and not greasy at all. I have also dined at Schwarzwaldstuben, the popular restaurant across the street but prefer this one for its menu price. I wish the restaurant would bring back the burger with goat cheese.

Wir kommen immer wieder gerne ins Bötzow Privat. Die Atmosphäre ist toll, die Bedienung überaus nett und das Essen ist wirklich sehr gut (unserer Meinung nach gerade in der letzten Zeit noch einmal besser geworden).

It is always good to be back. The service is very friendly and efficient. The prices have gone up, the portions became smaler. There used to be a salad with the Käsespätzle now without but it costs even more which is sad.

Service war patzig und auch als die angebotene Kartenzahlung auf Grund technischer Probleme erst nicht funktionierte, hieß es, es sei mein Problem. Überdurchschittliche Preise, 4,50€ für ein Bier ist happig. Werde das Bötzow Privat nicht mehr besuchen, es hat sich leider zur Touristenfalle entwickelt.

Wir haben den Altersdurchschnitt gehoben - überwiegend junges Publikum, aber wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Zu Silvester gab es ein ansprechendes Menu mit gelungener Wein-Empfehlung. Uriges Ambiente und aufmerksamer Service. Preis-Leistung passt.
