Boulevard is connected to the iconic Gerard Lounge at Sutton Place Hotel in the heart of downtown Vancouver featuring an oyster bar, private dining room and a large outdoor patio. This restaurant is the new showcase for the legendary and artistic fare of Chef Alex Chen. His inspiration comes from French traditions with a respect for the past while staying both current and modern. Our goal is to deliver an ambiance, service and cuisine that speaks of who we are and where we are located.

Gòod service, food was less than 15 minutes....although they offer a baguette that was in the oven but it never arrived. Food was good, I had roasted sable fish.

6’2” Tall and was seated where my chairs back was facing a walk way. Due to Boulevard being a high end restaurant, you would expect the staff to know to move me to another table. Restaurant was not fully book and other tables that were not in the way of walkways.

I booked ahead for a date with my wife on Valentine’s and was later called by the restaurant to confirm. They let me know it was a set menu and wanted to make sure this was okay. The set menu sounded great but my wife really loves the chocolate soufflé on their regular menu, and they said unfortunately it wasn’t available. I was a little disappointed, but when dessert came, they brought us the set menu dessert and the soufflé! It was a lovely surprise and really added to the occasion. Thanks again!

We had chosen Boulevard because my wife loves seafood, mainly crab, and thought we would be able to choose our meal
When we arrived, we were told that the menu and price was set and that was that available
My wife wasn't comfortable with all of the courses that were served to us
The atmosphere and service were awesome
The food was good but the value of our visit would have been much more enjoyable with a larger menu selection

We went for a business dinner after a day of networking. Our waiter Jorge was absolutely fabulous. So attentive and accommodating. He made out dinner as well as the sensational good. We will definitely wat here again.

Dining at Boulevard Kitchen and Oyster Bar made for a lovely yet unexceptional evening out. Upon entering the restaurant, I was not immediately greeted. I stood there looking for a hostess for a considerable amount of time before I flagged down a waitress who directed me to the hostess stand. I was seated near the centre of elegantly decorated tables, dimly lit with modern chandelier-like structures. The restaurant was full buzzing with activity and conversation. After a few minutes at the table, the waiter approached. Service was generally correct and polite though not friendly or warm. I had the impression that the waiter was too busy to take the time for friendly banter or to engage in any menu recommendations. He informed us that bread was not included in the dine out menu. While I did not miss it, I did consider it a bit odd to leave it out of the menu. I ordered the roasted squash salad to start with. The dish was creative. The combination of squash with Thai spices and flavours was a pleasant surprise. The squash itself was on the harder side with little flavour. Had it been slightly more tender or flavourful, the dish would have been delicious. The beef cheek main course was cooked well on the whole. The beef was both flavourful and tender. The daikon accompaniment lacked any significant personality, neither adding or taking away from the dish. Chocolate mousse dessert was beautifully presented and delicious. Overall, the meal was a positive experience. The dishes were creative though not outstanding in overall execution. Food was interesting but not scrumptiously divine. Given the positive reviews I had read on the restaurant, I really expected more. Overall, Boulevard Kitchen and Oyster Bar is good but short of great.

If you are trying to find somewhere special to take someone for their birthday this is the place! They went above and beyond. Upon arrival they sat us right away and at our table was a handwritten note from the restaurant staff giving their birthday wishes. It was noticeably a busy night however the service did not suffer. They were very attentive and had the best balance of coming to our table often but not to much to be intrusive. Lastly, the food was absolutely outstanding. I will definitely be coming here again. Thank you for the memorable evening.

I am actually rating the place and food to have 4.5 stars. The .5 star deducted due to the dessert was a bit small. Because it was so delicious :)

Went for Dine out Vancouver and enjoyed fantastic food and service. One of the best meals I have had in YVR, which has many great restaurants. Can’t wait to go back to try their Chef’s tasting menu.

Our appetizers, meals, beverages and service at Boulevard were spectacular. We did however experience an unfortunate faux-pas. A $225 bottle of red wine was ordered and they were out of stock. The wine steward instructed our server to tell us they had a suitable replacement. When I went to pay the bill, I discovered the "suitable" replacement was $675. That in itself was embarrassing as I had to ask my client if that was the wine he had chosen and then had to have an uncomfortable conversation with our server. A $450 increase without discussing first with someone at the table was in my opinion, taking liberties and was extremely presumptuous. The restaurant manager was very accommodating and dropped the cost of the wine to the original price, but at that point, the restaurant probably took a hit. Other than that awkward moment at the end of a lovely evening, everything was fantastic.

Our experience was terrific. We arrived on time and were promptly seated where we perused the menu and made our decisions in a decent time frame without being harassed. Our server, Jorge, was terrific and the rest of the staff were also extremely helpful. The food was of a very high quality for the entire table, for each course. They even remembered that it was my birthday and brought me a dessert plate. Top marks all round, I will definitely dine here again.

Today is actually my birthday and I targeted your restaurant long one ago. Hence decided to go celebrating my birthday with my husband. Let me share my personal experience here. Upon my arrival, when I approached the receptionist telling her my booking and details. She was completely not responding very much and her face has completely no expression or not smile at all. I just felt upset with her attitude coz I didn’t know what I did wrong and that deserved her black face.

Lucky that the server serving my table has fantastic service and attitude which made me feel much better and welcomed. She was very thoughtful and arranged additional dessert with ‘Happy Birthday’ wordings. Also during the entire dinner, she was very attentive. She deserves my thumbs up! Too bad that I forgot to ask her name. Just remembered she’s long hair. I really want to express my thanks to her. Without her, my night will be very upset.

I would strongly recommend the Restaurant Manager to look into and talk to the long hair receptionist. Her attitude and service have much room to improve! Thank you

It was my girlfriend and I's anniversary, instead of ordering the entree, our server recommended us to go with the seafood tower for 4 and the wagyu beef carpaccio. The food was great and our waiter Jorge's service was above and beyond. Definitely, one of my favorite restaurant and recommend to anyone who hasn't tried yet.

Our waiter was awesome! He was very energetic and knew his food and pairings. The food was kind of bland. I was hoping for more enhanced flavour throughout the courses. We did really enjoy the lemon tart dessert though.
The Boulevard did also take the time to make us feel special by writing my wife and I a card for our anniversary. I would recommend this restaurant to others.

The service here was exceptional and the experience was flawless. The friendly hostesses, whom offered to take your jacket, the attention to details, our server was always around, never did we have to ask for anything. We had the dine out menu which I thought was very good, as expected, from this quality restaurant. We were more so blown away by the service than the food. Well deserved tip here!

The service was exceptional and presentation wait times were perfect.

I ordered the Beef CHeeks, which were good, but not as great as the appetizer and dessert - next time i will stick to Seafood, which is there specialty and there will DEFINITELY be a next time!

Came here for dine out and the food was very tasty. Small portions but that is expected for this type of dining. I would highly recommend for a nice evening out. Didn’t try the oysters but the oyster bar looked very appealing.
