Boulevard is connected to the iconic Gerard Lounge at Sutton Place Hotel in the heart of downtown Vancouver featuring an oyster bar, private dining room and a large outdoor patio. This restaurant is the new showcase for the legendary and artistic fare of Chef Alex Chen. Boulevard Kitchen & Oyster Bar Ratings and Reviews
We unintentionally booked Boulevard during dine out. We decided to take advantage of the dine out menu but wanted to order cocktails and to add on some fresh shucked oysters and clams. This caused timing issues. Our oysters and clams came to the table then our first course from the dine out menu came immediately. Our mains came as soon as we were finished our appetizers but the glasses of wine we pre-ordered to go with our mains didn’t come until we were halfway through our dishes. The food was very good, and the restaurant was very obliging with my dietary restrictions and the service was on point, but our dinner felt very rushed. When we left we had barely been there for an hour, and that was after taking a lot of time over desert and coffee. We left feeling rushed and headed to another venue for a preshow drink with almost 1.5 hours to spare. Would def. go back just maybe not during dine-out
Could have been a little less noisy, and tables could be a little bit smaller for more intimacy.
Had much higher expectations but the offering like the mussels appetizer wasnt great and the main course of the sous vide beef bavette was alright. Wasn't blown away that's for sure.
Wonderful meal with fresh ingredients and great service! Ambience was on point for night and very observant staff. I will definitely return
Our server was humourous and friendly. Food was yummy!! Happy hour was fantastic!! 😋
Delicious food and mostly impeccable service (the only complaint I had was that I was the only female with 5 men and the server kept addressing us as "gentlemen"...)
Scrumptious sticky wings, fresh oysters, just the right size pasta and amazing chocolate mousse. Definitely will keep it on the list of places to go when we are in Vancouver.
Chef Alex Chen is representing BC at the Canadian Culinary Championship for a reason. Incredible creativity and amazing flavor combinations. A treat from bite to bite. Unfortunately, the service needs to step up a bit to match the food. Also, watch your plate. We watched a server eat a French fry as he was delivering a plate to a patron. Thankfully, it wasn’t our server or dish.
Boulevard is our favourite spot in town. Try the tasting menu! We had a phenomenal date.
It doesn’t fit in my expectation
Great place and the we had a wonderful time there.
Been there for NYE dinner. Everything was way too SALTY. And EXPENSIVE. Doesn’t worth the money.
My wife and I had a great dinner date here. The food was excellent as was the service.
We went there for the weekend brunch. The service was excellent, and the restaurant was elegant. We ordered a slice of Black Forest for dessert but because of a problem with their fridge overnight, the server offered us complimentary cakes for not being able to provide the dessert we ordered.
Worst experience. The restaurant never advised they weren't offering a la carte but only a buffet. Also our reservation was at 10pm and the buffet ended at 10pm.
Booked Christmas Day dinner for six. We were put in what I would consider a hallway or store room (extra tables for the day that was in it). The appetisers were very good, but the main courses were not, the plates were cold and everything left in dishes but not kept warm. Bill was left on our table before we even finished the mains. Disappointing but could have been so much better
Very classy atmosphere and good service. Some of the food was wonderful (especially the oysters), but the linguini vongole was not very tasty and only had five clams. The sablefish was very tasty but a tiny portion.
A very good restaurant and fairly priced for downtown Vancouver in a beautiful setting. We will be back .
My husband and I thought the service was amazing. The server was very thoughtful!
Bday and early Christmas brunch
Reserved table is colder due to closer to the door. They did not have any other table because a party was held. We are forced to like a bar table with high chair. It was uncomfortable, but their seafood were really excellent.
We’d like to visit again next time.
Freshest seafood. Delicious seafood tower. Entrees were well presented and so tasty! Good size portions. Great menu selections. Amazing service! Beautiful classy restaurant but fun atmosphere. Will return! We had a wonderful time - loved the food and service.
Service slow, appetizers came out different times. 6 of us altogether for dinner. Only one person got their salad. The rest of us got our salad after the one person finished. When I told waiter I wasn’t happy about that he apologized but did not compensate for the inconvenience. Food was good service could have been a lot better. Not sure if I wi
Overall a very enjoyable evening at the Boulevard. The service was particularly good and made our experience that much more special. We will definitely try this restaurant again.
The three of us thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Boulevard Kitchen. The server, Brian C, was knowledgeable, friendly, and competent. The food was superb, beautifully presented, and just enough for a happy tummy. While I don't drink, one of our party did and was pleased with the wine Brian suggested to accompany the ling cod. The noise level was fairly high, but it was a happy hubbub, not at all uncomfortable (and I don't usually like much noise). Boulevard Kitchen is definitely going on our "let's go there again" list.
Great night overall - oyster selection was excellent, but I do suggest a printout of the list. It was hard to keep track of the oyster options verbally communicated and described to comfortably pick. One note - it did feel rushed there like they wanted to flip the table quickly. Food arrived very shortly after ordering and was overall very fast. Keep in mind if you are planning a quiet, slower meal. Otherwise food was delicious and venue is top notch.
thoroughly enjoyed the experience and will be back,
Went for 4 Year anniversary. Really great overall experience. We had oysters, mussels, beef carpaccio and a side of mushrooms; all fantastic. Highly recommend!
Fantastic food...oysters are a must have! Service was excellent. Ambiance is great, restaurant is beautiful.
Wonderful service and really excellent seafood dinner. The seafood tower was excellent. The sommelier was really nice. We hope to be back
Just a solo meal to enjoy some local seafood whilst passing through Vancouver. Excellent seafood and preparation, service was also very good.
Boulevard has become a real staple for brunch lunch and dinner, great food, great service, great value
Loved the restaurant, only complaint would be was that the music was too loud
It took almost 3 hours to have 2 course meal and each refill of iced tea was billed $5, nice place but the kitchen needs more help, we waited over an our for our starter salads.
The kitchen was out of all the things we ordered including the features that the waiter raved about. They never let us know until atleast 20 minutes after we ordered. The manager tried to blame it on how busy they were (a typical saturday night). I would not recommend going to this restaurant.
Excellent service, attentive and attention to every little detail
Discovered while doing Tourism Challenge - always tell everybody how wonderful everything is at Boulevard. Excellent with my dietary issues (AIP-Paleo). Everybody cares! Absolutely will return again and again.
Service was scattered and unreliable. Required many interventions to complete the meal.
Service was top notch. Would go there for a date or a meeting with clients or potential ones.
I dine here regularly and recently hosted a birthday dinner with a large group of friends. The staff is always attentive and the food is flavorful and well portioned. The oysters and foie gras are among my top favorites! I highly recommend this beautiful restaurant!
Food was amazing, the braised beef was so good. Sea food tower for 2 was incredible, except the oysters were OK. Nevertheless the crab was good, the prawns, the shrimp salad, all good! Moscow mule was so-so ; not enough ginger beer or not enough alcohol, it was watered down, and I've had better. We will be back though 100%.
