It was our 38th Weddings Anniversary, so we decided to make it special! Well this restaurant made it very special for us. It was absolutely amazing. Our waitress could not do enough for us. See was so good. Everything was so perfect, from our Truffle Ravioli, to my Halibut which was done perfectly, to me Chocolate Crisp dessert.
It was a dinner we will not forget. Thank you for the Team that made it that way. With the Covid-19, they all did an excellent job. This was the end of short trip from Victoria, so glad we spent our last night at the Sutton Place.

Went during happy hour and they have a decent selection of cocktails and small plates to share. Their oysters were great and $2 each. Their white wine during happy hour is barely drinkable but their red is much better and decent for $7. Dinner menu looked good but we were so full from happy hour that we just ended up getting some mussels that was a special that night. (miso butter gratin which was fantastic) The service was good, the ambience is a little bit subdued but that's got to do with the physical distancing between tables more than anything. Overall, an enjoyable experience!

We came here for our 10th anniversary dinner, the first time in a very long time we had done anything special like this, and it met and exceeded every expectation. Food (quality, composition, portion size, presentation), drinks and service were all excellent, as was the ambiance. When we were seated, there was a thoughtful, handwritten note at the table congratulating us on our anniversary, and they also comped us a lovely little cheesecake dessert. We started with half a dozen oysters and their mussel special - miso-chili crusted, to die for! - then followed with the halibut (for my husband) with their London's Calling cocktail, and the seafood linguini (for me) with a glass of a nice little French Sauvignon Blanc. I was very pleasantly surprised by the linguini dish - pasta so often disappoints - but this truly was excellent. In fact, it was all so good that it wasn't until we had finished that we realized we hadn't even traded bites, as we always do. We finished up with the chocolate crisp, truly decadent and rich without being overly sweet, which I paired with the recommended red dessert wine. The lighting was perfect, there were enough people there to give it a nice ambiance without feeling crowded, and decor was modern with an Art-Deco feel, yet warm and welcoming. Service was excellent and it was a perfect night. We'll definitely be going back for our next date night, but this time we'll be getting the seafood tower for two. Mmmm... I would highly recommend for a romantic dinner, but also for a family or friend reunion, birthdays, anniversary, date night, seafood fans... The only thing I would note here (as a parent of 2 young children) is that it's not a kid-friendly place, and in my book, that's okay. Sometimes ya just gotta adult, ya know? 5 stars all the way, Boulevard. Bravo!

Food was a overrated. The seafood linguine was amazing. Other than that everything was underwhelming. We had the prawn tartare, tomato/burata and the steak. The steak was not cooked properly. Their cocktail menu is very small but have an extensive wine menu.

4th time having a special dinner out here. Consider it high end dinning but worth the money. Fantastic food, service, memories. Even in this covid19 time it was an amazing experience. The roasted cauliflower appy was incredible and our steaks were done perfectly. Thanks again for the great time.

We asked for recommendations for the best seafood in the Lower Mainland. A few of our friends recommended this place, so we decided to make a reservation. We were celebrating our 12 year anniversary. We got seated right away upon arrival. Unfortunately, we got seated right by the door, it wasn’t ideal as it was chilly, but I didn’t not want to make a fuss about it. My partner did not mind. Of course we got the oysters, they were delicious, however, we only used one of the three sauces they offered (we do appreciate the options) We both got the seafood pasta, it was good. The desert was delicious. Overall the experience was good, but I’m not dying to go back. I think my expectations were a bit too high.

While it is not the full menu everything on the menu is well chosen to satisfy the palate of the most discerning diner. The lingcod was perfectly cooked and tasted excellent and also the Humboldt squid stood out in the seafood pasta which had a nice tangy spice sauce. It was difficult not to lick the plate. Perfect sized portions and the service is top notch. Make sure to speak to the sommelier as he is great and will enhance your dining with recommendations.

We ended up sharing both desserts on the menu and they were different and delicious each in their own way. The dessert chef is an award winner at this restaurant and you will understand it the moment they arrive table side.

Had dinner on first night of re-opening. Very nicely laid out and professionally managed. Staff all have very cool clear plastic partial face masks that make personal experience normal and service was excellent as always. No feeling of crowding whatsoever.

As alway the food was all outstanding.

Wonderful to have this gem back.

There is never any great joy in writing a critical review of a restaurant, especially one that clearly has a loyal following and the potential to live up to its lofty reputation. Unfortunately, our meal fell far short of reaching the bar that Boulevard clearly aspires to, and left us with the feeling that the kitchen was coasting on its reputation. That said, there were certainly positive elements. The Catena Cabernet Franc from the off the beaten path wine list was both unusual and delicious. The oysters were also impeccable, fresh and redolent of ocean. Sadly, the celeriac Waldorf salad was an unmitigated culinary catastrophe. Not only was the salad barely dressed, with virtually no hint of apple or walnut, dusted with the slightest skiff of Valdeon cheese, and unremittingly flavorless, but the celeriac had been robbed of any vestige of texture, taste, or crispness. I imagined that it had, perhaps, been extracted from a can predating Canadian independence. Our desperate attempt to salvage it by pouring the serviceable shallot mignonette from the oyster on top was a categorical failure. Then there was a wait, a long, long wait of nearly an hour until the remainder of our meal arrived. The sablefish was well-cooked, flaky and moist, but with flavors that erred on the bland side of subtle. The ling cod arrived with a nice crust, and the sunchoke curry was flavorful, but it had clearly spent an extended tenure awaiting the arrival of its partners before delivery to our table, to the detriment of both taste and texture. My “enhancement” of broccolini with Calabrian chile and Parmesan was, again, adequate, with good flavors but somewhat indifferent preparation where a bit of roasting could have been used to great advantage. In contrast, my wife’s roasted brussel sprout “enhancement” only served that role by remaining an uneaten table ornament after each of us made a one sprout trial foray. It was more boiled than roasted, coated with a mishmash of incompatible flavors.

We came to experience the special menu from executive chef Roger Ma's Canadian Culinary Championship win.

The menu was very nice, very well executed. Dessert was rather weak though, pretty meh! Unfortunately the portion size was very small and led to the proverbial, "Leave the restaurant to find some food". If you can't do it for $75, charge the extra and give people a decent meal! The portions on the regular menu seem very adequate, so what gives?

With Chef Ma now the 2020 Canadian Culinary Champion, this is a superb spot to visit! And, most of all, taste the winning dishes if they are available as they were when we visited.

You're looking for the BC coastal terroir as a starter; the duck 'cassoulet' next; the oat crusted elk follows (incredible) and finish (make room) with dessert - sea buckthorn creameux which includes a stunning caramel mousse and just a touch of yogurt ice cream.

Wines are pricey but you have your choice to stick to BC in the 'new world', follow Chef Ma's pairing or head to 'old world' wines. The list is extensive and probably meets almost any palate.

So pleased too with the service - attentive but not intrusive - and a great spot for a special event, in this case a birthday.

It was a lunch with the ladies for my birthday! The wait staff service was great with requests and their service was also very prompt.
