    Alway a great time at Braxton's. First time for lunch. A little disappointed in the menu. My Wife and I normally order the Tomahawk steak for 2. Were not able to order it, because they do not deviate from the lunch menu. Unfortunately, Will not be coming back for lunch again.

    Our main server was Gio, he was fantastic. Attentive without hovering. Very pleasant to chat with. I'm vegan and loved the broccoli appetizer, my main was cauliflower, the most delicious cauliflower entree I've had the pleasure to eat. Desert was incredible, chocolate, over the top. My companions are not vegan and loved their seafood entrees. I would highly recommend Braxtons. It's a 5* experience.

    Maybe it’s due to post covid maybe it is due to change in ownership but unfortunately the place has gone down hill :( the chairs need a good cleaning , the floor needs cleaned the walls have ketchup etc and the glass is full of finger marks and foggy to see through . the tables look like they have been wiped with a dirty cloth and the bench seat was ripped the wooden door was sooo dirty I know this is not a highly rated review but i have to say i have been going here for years , first time post covid positive - chowder was awesome and the service stellar ! I truly hope things improve for this majestic place

    Our server, Dima, seemed to want for us to get our entire experience over with quickly. Didn’t really follow up on much and left us feeling like we were an inconvenience. Food was good but service was definitely less then desirable.

    White wine served room temperature. Big spill as served. Very little seafood in chowder. 2 mussels. Table wet and not wiped up or concerned. Need better S& P shakers. Or grinders. Still wine in bottle when removed. Overpriced for quality. Can’t ride on the name and we are local. Sad.

    Food was excellent; however our waiter forgot my husband's french fries with his order, our dessert said Happy Birthday when it was our Wedding Anniversary and I was charged for three glasses of wine when I only had two. Had to have the bill corrected the next morning as I did not notice it until I was getting ready for bed.

    The food was very good. The ambience was excellent, but the company was what made it! Thank you to the cook staff for accommodating my granddaughter’s crazy request of no food touching! It was a very enjoyable experience.

    We ate at Braxton on Sunday the 6th of August. I can't recall our waiter's name, but we shared a son's name, and he was simply amazing. Professional, friendly, even offered to take our picture! The food was exquisite, I had the salmon and it was cooked perfectly. Husband has the T-Bone steak and what a steak it was! He finished his plate so I think he enjoyed it. Kid friendly, my son loved the kid's menu, it was made with children in mind! Our waiter had experience with children and knew to place his order first, appreciated it. Drinks were also lovely, Algonquin's Mule is great! I want to note that we were served quickly, no long waits unlike what other reviews are saying, supper time was staffed accordingly and all waiters were fast on their feet. Thank you! ps. We also had breakfast in the resort and our other waiter was just as nice and friendly, we shared interesting stories with him and we hope that he gets to visit more countries than his father did. :)

    We brought friends who were visiting from Ottawa to a late dinner there were a few other patrons but it was still quiet and we were seated quickly. The food was amazing and we all couldn't stop talking about the flavors the only downside was our server seemed to be more interesting in talking with other patrons than checking on us. We ended up skipping dessert as we did not have enough time. Over all the food, ambiance and atmosphere was great, service could be improved upon.

    Very creative menu, fairly priced. It’s a hotel restaurant - be guided accordingly. If you’re looking for that amazing straight-from-the-sea little place with an organic wine list, look elsewhere. This is all about convenience - and it has no pretensions of being anything other than what it is. And it does that superbly.

    We were guests at the Resort and had dinner twice at Braxton's. The food was good but not great. The service was minimal. We had to ask about specials both nights. Getting water glasses refilled was a problem. Given the price of the Resort and the meals at Braxton's, I expected better. Lunch at the golf course clubhouse was much nicer and a much better value. I would note that Braxton's probably is the nicest restaurant in town. It could be better with some additional efforts from the staff.

    The perfect location for a special celebratory dinner. We started with a glass of Prosecco. The service was great. When I informed our waiter of dietary restrictions, the chef was able to accommodate the dish I selected and the meal was exquisite. The wine list is also excellent. The waiter was very attentive and engaging. It was a very special evening.

    A very disappointing experience on a Sunday evening in July. We waited over two hours for our meal. The waiter noted he appreciated, our patience along with our “ expressed discontent”, yet his repeated apologies, and explanations did not make our meals arrive any sooner. We had to wait a bit for drinks as well. Finally near the two hour mark he brought some complementary bread. He asked if we wanted to see the restaurant manager. Sergei spoke with us and while amiable , again the food did not come out much faster. When we finally received our meals, the $60 lobster risotto, which had a  small lobster tail on top was tough and inedible. They exchanged the tail for another, which was just as bad. At that point we returned the risotto. The salmon, however, was delicious and the chicken dish was good. The pork chop was just OK. The manager, of course, took the risotto off the bill and comped our first round of drinks. He also then took a small amount off the total bill as compensation for our disappointing experience. All in all, I would not recommend this restaurant during your stay at this resort until they work out the kinks in the kitchen. You’d be better off having fish and chips or a snack in the pub in the basement.

    The meal was acceptable, passable, but not at all remarkable or worthy of the price tag. It lacked quality, imagination, and flavor. Sadly, in St. Andrews, there are few dining options of any note. We hoped that this might pass muster, but it did not. If you must, we suggest lunch. It was better than dinner. The one saving grace - my partner’s cocktail was excellent. Kudos to the bar tender.

    First of all we received our appetizers before our cocktails arrived. Not a big deal. The tuna tartare was great but the pork belly was only fair. Too much bread for the amount of pork. No one came back to ask us if everything was ok and when the waitress did come back she took our plates away so fast we didn’t even get the chance to say anything. Our main meal was another 45 minutes which is fine but definitely not consistent with how fast the appetizers came out. The salmon was good but the lobster risotto not so much. Maybe instead of pieces of sausage they could have had prices of lobster in the risotto. We also saw that other tables were getting bread and butter but we only got some in the middle of our main meal because we asked for some. The waitress said that we had to ask for it. Ok, didn’t know. We will be back but only because we’ve had other meals here that were outstanding and the hotel is one of our favorites.

    The Algonquin is a wonderful old property and we were hoping for a nice dining experience at the Braxton. The ambience is nice with outdoor and indoor seating. It wasn't too crowded when we sat down and the waiter came quickly and seemed friendly. That was the best part of the evening. The drinks we ordered arrived watered down with ice already melted and floating on top. Appetizers were tasty but the main dishes were delayed and not cooked properly, either under or overdone. A lobster risotto had tasteless overcooked lobster and the rice was well seasoned but stuck together like glue. The worst part is that the wait staff seemed very inexperienced and overwhelmed. Service was slip shod and frenetic, and not at all what you would expect in such a hotel. Hope Marriott gets it together and brings their restaurant up to par with the history of this grand old hotel.

    The setting is really nice w both indoor and outdoor seating. Full bar w a decent wine list. We enjoyed two nice, cold martinis. My husband had mussels and I had pork belly. Both were very good. The chef came out to see if we liked the dishes which was nice. This is a great place for lunch or dinner after a visit to Kingsbrae Gardens wh is just a few minutes away. We have a place in Eastport Maine and it’s about 1hr 15 min trip to the gardens and Algonquin making it a perfect day trip.

    Our service and food was wonderful. We were able to enjoy our meal and watch others enjoying the beautiful evening around the resort. Great selection of beautiful creative entrees. It was the highlight of the stay.
