Excellent food! It deserves the rating it has attained the last few years. We have gone twice now, the second time was just as good as our first experience over a year ago. No decline in the quality of food, attention to detail, and service. We will go again in the future.
We had another amazing experience at Bucca. It's a go to for any great meal. I celebrated my birthday there
Best Italian restaurant in Toronto. Had Massimo as a waiter and he was amazing. Recommend the John Dory fish to share for the table.
Amazing as always! Gave my friend the most adorable pasta kit for his birthday!
One of my favourite restaurants in the city! Thanks for helping to make our celebration extra special!
The only thing better than the service at Buca was the food. Everything was great. From the cocktails, to the wine, everything was superb. The quality of the ingredients I tasted were second to none.
If you are looking for delicious flavours and well thought out dishes I highly recommend this restaurant. The Branzino was the best piece of raw fish I have ever eaten. Never mind sushi, go try that sea bass at Buca. You won't regret it.
Excellent food and service. Location could be better though, as it felt like a train car at times...
It was a great experience overall, although there were little flies buzzing about (my only complaint). Service was excellent. Server replaced my wine when a fly decided to turn my glass into its own private jacuzzi. The food was excellent. The burrata pizza and 'polipo & vongole' were outstanding. Definitely recommend it.
Fabulous. Only downside was a regular female patron who was very loud and showing off with the wait staff .. and although we had requested a quiet table, they seated her and her group (clearly she knew the staff) right next to us, which made an otherwise super fabulous experience pand left us feeling annoyed and disturbed.
Amazing, amazing, amazing... This place is amazing. The burrata pizza is the best in town. Thank you so much for best service and great food ...
Food and service was good. Very noisy. Very difficult to hear my guest.
Food is good, but it is too loud
The food was spectacular, our waiter a delight. Didn’t love the ambiance - and it was definitely louder than it should have been (with the noise reverberating off the walls) - but with such exceptional food & service, I definitely plan to go again!
The entrees were ordinary, especially the lamb. Only thing that saved the day was great desserts.
Great food, fantastic options for gluten free dining- service was excellent, it was just a little loud without ambient music...totally great place xoxo
Everything we tried today was really salty!
Amazing as always, the bread knots are still my ultimate fav. Love that they can modify some dishes for vegan or vegetarian.
Notable but very expensive wine list of Italian wines. The restaurant is very noisy making conversation almost impossible. I have never encountered a restaurant anywhere in the world where the wines offered by the glass were 2.5 ounces or 5 ounces. Usually it is a 6 or 9 ounce pour. Also $24.00 for 5 ounces of Pinot Grigio is excessive, to say the least.
My angel hair pasta with lobster contained several bits of lobster that would all have fitted into a spoon. At $48.00 I was expecting several large morsels and perhaps half a tail or a claw on top. A very ordinary pasta for an extraordinary price.
The couple at the adjoining table sent their mains back .
We will not be returning either.
We tried the original Buca (King Street) a couple of years ago, and were very disappointed. But with so many people raving about the Yorkville location, we felt we should give the name another chance. Sadly, we were disappointed again. We ordered the: Culurgiones (pasta), Polipo E Vongole (octopus), Gran Fritto Misto, Porchetta pizza and fried zucchini blossoms. The culurgiones was supposed to have shrimp in it, but we couldn’t taste or identify it, so if it was there it was muted and blended to mush. The stuffed pasta was bland, but the sauce was delicious. The octopus was cooked perfectly, but the portion was exceptionally small for $50 (half of a very small octopus) and the accompaniment was uninspired (a few clams with farro or Israeli couscous, and what tasted like chicken broth). The Gran Fritto Misto (fried fish & veggies) was also bland… with a little bit of salt and a dipping sauce or two, this dish would have been the hit of the night, but unfortunately missed the mark. Also the shrimp was deep fried with the tail on, meaning you end up biting the first tail unexpectedly, with bits of it in your mouth for the rest of dinner. The fried zucchini blossoms were nothing special; we’ve had these before (at a Mario Batali restaurant in Vegas) and they blew our minds, so perhaps our expectations were too high. The porchetta pizza was delicious, seasoned perfectly with generous toppings. My mom said the porchetta reminded her of day old pork roast, but I think she is just not a fan of porchetta. If you like porchetta, try this pizza. For dessert we shared the gelato trio; the cherry gelato is amazing—best thing we had. As for the ambiance, it is lovely—modern, tall ceilings, individual washrooms. Our server was a tad standoffish, but I’m not sure if that is representative of the staff, or just a one-off. Overall, it seems that Buca is more of a hot-spot that you brag about going to and dropping $100/person… and then you go home and have a snack to fill up.
Add more healthy options to the brunch menu. Currently not too many healthy options
We went for lunch on Father’s Day, hoping to give my father an exceptional dining experience. Unfortunately, many patrons brought their young children and between the children making noise and the overall loud noise in the restaurant we were struggling to hear one another at times. I would suggest the restaurant seriously consider adding acoustic panels or artwork to absorb some of the noise which I find very loud for an expensive restaurant.
Otherwise, service and food were both great!
Excelente service, outstanding!
My wife and I travelled from Alberta to a small town north of Toronto to help my mother with the lost of her partner. Having a very stressful 2 weeks we decided to treat ourselves and go to Toronto a day early and go for a nice supper. We noticed that Buca Yorkville offered a chefs counter so i called and set up sitting for 9 pm. As usual we showed up 20 minutes early. We were asked to wait at the bar as the table wasn't ready. We were ordering drinks when a gentleman came over and said they could not honor the reservation as the first sitting was running late. He offered us a spot at the bar or in the corner to eat. We left and had a fabulous meal at Anndore House. We have eaten at a number of Canada’s top restaurant and have never been treated with so much lack of professionalism or respect.
Inventive menu choices! Delicious food, elegant decor and knowledgeable staff!
Service was excellent, service was very attentive. Would definitely recommend their truffle pizza, Cheers.
My wife and I stopped for a quick dinner on Sunday. We both had the oysters which were good and the bigoli which were OUTSTANDING. For dessert we had the biancomangiare with fresh figs and it was one of the best desserts we ever had. The waiter recommended some excellent pairings. Very satisfied - and I should add that we are very tough customers.
We had two servers this night. One was trying to rush our order and we also received the wrong order twice. The second server we had was after our apps and was a lot nicer and accommodating.
The branzina is amazing ....so fresh. A must to order. We shared a few dishes which was perfect ! Service outstanding as always.
Buca never disappoints.
Scrumptious food, breathtaking presentation and wonderful atmosphere! Highly recommended!
Last time for dining there.
Food was Amazing! Lisa is a star. Sommelier was excellent.
Service was pleasant and knowledgeable, although they seemed to be in a rush to clear the table. The branzino is always excellent. Pizzas very tasty. Wines by the glass very expensive. A very nice meal, but not reasonably priced.
Great place , great food and service. We enjoyed a quiet romantic dinner. We will be back.
Over priced, small portions; none of the menu items were great. I would describe them as good at best. I’m open to great taste small portions and paying a premium for this... But when the menu is basic the portions are small and the taste is nothing worth paying for... I would not return. Also the radicchio salad was ridiculous. Literally 10 leaves I’m straight radicchio lettuce pieces with some olive oil on top. I would not call this a salad.
Above average and exceptional
Food was as good if not better than any restaurant in Italy!!!
Very good service. Overall pricy compare to similar restaurants.
My wife Amanda and ate at the bar in front of the kitchen, which was fascinating. Every course was unique and perfectly prepared. One of the best meals we have had in a long time, and we eat out all over Toronto multiple times per week. Thanks Rob Gentile for putting together such an amazing place.
Équipe très à l’écoute, le serveur nous a aidé pour les choix du menu
Les plats étaient superbes et délicieux
Une soirée mémorable en amoureux !
Lovely modern looking room which is both casual and inviting. Atmosphere was upbeat and eclectic. Fairly laid back, but service was excellent. We had the tasting menu, with the wine-pairing, which was exclusively seafood based. The service was very accommodating and attentive to our requests and our primary waiter, Gregory, was knowledgeable and personable. The food itself was beautifully prepared and presented. Some unusual combinations which were exciting and interesting, and the wines were very good too and they were not skimpy on the pours. Altogether, an excellent experience and would definitely recommend the tasting menu as it is good value.
