Byblos - Toronto Ratings and Reviews
Awesome recommendations for dishes to try. It has a warm ambience and friendly servers that all help one another.
Short rib was disappointing. Everything else we ordered tasted great!
amazing, every time, we been here so many times and every visit is not an inch less than perfect. highly recommended
What a fun evening with friends at Byblos before the Symphony. Ordered a variety of food, and we all shared the amazing food. Loved everything we ordered. Will definitely go back.
Overall had a fantastic dinner experience. Came here with 5 work colleagues and everyone left extremely satisfied. Food was amazing, service was great, and all of us commented positive things about the décor and overall ambience. Would recommend to just about everyone.
Best restaurant I’ve been to in as long as I can remember.
Some dishes where really good others ok. Little too expensive, $350+ only for food not including drink/wine for three people. Not kids friendly (service and no kids food options). I expected better service from our server. She was a little on the dry side. Her answers where short and did not seem in a very good mood. I was expecting more middle Eastern taste, however it was a lot of fusion food, which some might enjoy. Good to try once.
everything was great! the door was for some reason left open all the time and it was cold:(
Fabulous meal, although the Brussels sprouts were a tad undercooked for our liking. Expensive wine by the glass when you don’t want to share a bottle pre theatre but we did get to try it first. Service outstanding and quick. Second time here and we will be back. Went with our server Rebecca’s recommendations and we weren’t disappointed (the Brussels were our choice).
Excellent service and delicious food.
The attention of Ilias G was extraordinary, his recommendations, explaining perfectly the menu and each dish, his attention and service, it is very important to have people like him.
Highly recommended to return
Do not order the short ribs. Poor quality and flavour, almost inedible.
This menu is amazing. Loved absolutely everything! Thank you.
Great food and service. Really attentive waiter who made excellent suggestions and answered any questions we had. Not overly noisy st all - lovely ambiance. Drinks are a little pricey but are very good. Very, very good flavours and delicious food. Sharing plates are well sized and we left stuffed.
Food is amazing.
Very good service & advice to discover best dishes
Quite loud ambiance so tough to hear/understand dish description when served
Amazing flavors & mixes
A must do in Toronto! But book ahead, always busy!
I've come to Byblos a couple times now and it's grown as one of my absolute favourites in Toronto. With my reservation made well in advance and reservation preferences included I was not accommodated of any and did not receive any confirmation call for my reservation. I made a call to confirm my reservation and was reiterated with my special notes (girlfriend birthday/corner booth upstairs preferred). Upon arrival I find my requests were completely disregarded and I was seated in a location no where close to my preference. I asked to move and was seated in a very small booth location. No acknowledgment of my girlfriends birthday was presented and the server did not greet it at all. This was one of my worst experiences at Byblos for such a special occasion.
Incredible food, lovely waitstaff, a most spectacular experience. Will certainly be back and recommend to others.
It was a wonderful evening and beautiful meal!
Great restaurant for foodies!! It would be worth flying from New York to Toronto just to eat here! The food was delicious. Everything was prepared and presented with perfection.
Excellent food. Was recommended and didn't disappoint. Was a bit noisier than I was told it might be but not intolerable
The only quibble, online reservations only for 4:00 pm. No reason for this. The place was half empty when we left at 6:30. Otherwise, it was great.
Great restaurant! The food was unique and the service was outstanding.
A must try!
Outstanding food and service. Unique combinations of flavors and presentation. We enjoyed the ambience of the restaurant; in many ways, the unique character of the food, the environment, and the smart, knowledgeable and personable service felt much like the unique havens of New York City, making this a very special dining experience for Toronto, one not to be missed.
Always delicious. New additions to the menu are great.
The food is outstanding but found the upstairs area too dark and seating uncomfortable. Needed iPhone flashlight to read menu. Although the seating looks really nice it’s awkward for feet and our table was very small for tapas style menu.
Food and service was amazing!
I left it very last-minute in reserving a table for a birthday celebration. It was very difficult to find a spot to accommodate a party of 6 at the more popular restaurants in town. Fortunately, a table for 6 at Byblos came up. I've only heard good things about this restaurant so I thought this would be a great opportunity to try it out. First of all, the interior design was on point - modern with a rustic charm. The service was good. It got a bit loud at times making conversations a little more difficult, but again, it was a full house on a Friday night, what more could we have expected.
The food exceeded my expectations. I personally really like Mediterranean/Middle Eastern food, and Byblos did not disappoint. We started off with the Sabzi Qatayef (braised oxtail) and the house labneh dip. Both were small but tasty, just wished there was a bit more. Then we had the black truffle pide, which was also small but absolutely delicious. For mains we had the Middle Eastern Fried Chicken, BC mussels, black cod, Roasted Lamb Shoulder for Two, Spanish octopus, triple-fried fries, Crispy Confit Duck rice, and Sweet Jeweled rice. Everything tasted great, but what got me was the sweet jeweled rice. It definitely stood out from the rest of the dishes, and is highly recommended for anyone who is visiting for the first time.
We had the Pavlova, pistachio ice cream/popsicle and the chocolate mousse for dessert. The chocolate mousse was absolutely delicious!
It was definitely on the pricey end for the amount of food served. We ordered almost half the menu to feed a group of 6. The bill was definitely not cheap. I would recommend this place for those who are looking for a place to celebrate a special event. Would I come on a normal weekday dinner, probably not. But would I come for a birthday celebration, a definite yes.
This dining experience was definitely a positive one, and it is likely that we will return for another meal in the near future.
The flavors were memorable! The only "complaint" would be the lighting - it was a little dim where we were sitting. Great setting overall, though!
Superb, outstanding food and service. I don't say that about many restaurants. We are pescatarians, but there was still lots for us to eat. Every mouthful was an exciting new experience (sometimes we can be a bit jaded!). The only criticism is that it was way too noisy for conversation. Put some baffles on the walls to absorb some of the noise, please.
Byblos Toronto is a destination restaurant. When I visit Toronto from the US, Byblos restaurant is part of my itinerary. Outstanding Hostess. Food is exquisite. Service is very attentive. Memorable experience.!
Wonderful, authentic restaurant. The tapas are very small which makes it a little overpriced. Cocktails were outstanding though.
Absolutely amazing food and ambiance. Service is phenomenal. This is the kind of Mediterranean food I can get behind. Loved it!
Decor very on trend. Walking down into the unassuming restaurant with high expectations and the visuals delivered. Nice touch being able to see the finishers do the final plate up.
Definitely have the Labneh to start!
We had the Black cod wrapped in seaweed which was a tasty combo and just the perfect mix of textures although a little too buttery, the Sweet Jeweled rice was deliciously flavoursome, and we also had the dumplings that unfortunately were overcompensated with butter for the lack of flavour.
Total came to $170 for 2 (+ tip) with a bottle of red. Might go back for another try for the friendly perfectly time service and the rice.
Food was top notch and our waiter was excellent. Made great recommendations including what not to order. Always appreciate that kind of candour from wait staff. Drinks a but pricy for what you get, but the food is worth it. Definitely be back.
Had a fun evening but the service was mediocre. Food was good, however I expected it to be a little more “WOW”. None of the dishes truly wowed me..!!
Drinks were good. Overall fun night, but missed the wow factor for me.
Lovely night with great food and drinks and fantastic servers
Absolutely amazing place, stuff and food. Highly recommended !
Our favourite restaurant. We've been several times and are trying to work our way through the menu. The Lamb shoulder is the one thing we get every time. Truly a culinary delight. There's not a bad thing on the menu!
Very accommodating for Gluten-free dining. No specific items identified as such but the server was able to suggest modifications and alternates. Food is interesting, well presented and very tasty. Wines by the glass are over-the-top expensive which was disappointing.
