The food and service at the Cabin is superb. Our server Raj was excellent. Would highly recommend the seafood risotto and the mussels
when I made reservations we could get 6.30 or 8.30 and we were hoping for 7-7.30 because we had a couple come up from Toronto, when we got there at 6.30 we were the only table , so I wish we could have got our time. anyway we were greeted by a waiter who was very nice and made us feel welcome
we had a drink and chated and the waiter did not push us on ordering, after our drink we order our food and a bottle of wine
the food was very good and just the right size portions, but we needed another bottle of wine to finish the evening off
our guests enjoyed the evening and we will go again and will recommend the Cabin to others
Food was excellent but it took a long time to get drinks from the bar and wine cellar.
Though cabin is quite expensive it is worth the food quality and the obvious skill level of the Chefs preparing the food. The food was phenomenal and Raj's service was excellent and friendly.
Food was very good , the server was very attentive and recommended a few dishes. My husbands tenderloin was cooked to perfection. Overall a good dinner

Pasta was overcooked. Definitely not al dente. Fish in the seafood linguine tasted a little off. Salad presentation and taste was wonderful.
Food was very good and portion sizes were perfect. Great atmosphere and energy.
Nice little restaurant. I thought the service could have been better...it was empty when we came in for lunch, but it took a while for food to arrive.

It was my 60th birthday. We had a lovely meal and when the waitress heard it was my birthday, she brought 2 complimentary champagne glasses of Prosecco to help us celebrate. The food and the service were both excellent!

I’ve been to cabin before and it was outstanding. However this visit was underwhelming. But still a beautiful space with amazing service. Just the food was underwhelming this time.
Not bad. No other options to dine at Hockley. We didn’t get seated until 15 minutes after our reservation with no apology or comp. That alone speaks volumes.
Reservation for 8:30. Table we sat at was empty at 830. Was not seated until 9pm. Disappointed with bar tenders knowledge and “table manners” was served spoiled wine. Server, Hope, was incredible. Significantly improved our experience. Food was great.
Went for my parents birthdays. They have always wanted to try a tasting menu and chose Hockley as the place to go. We have been in the past and tried a tasting menu and quite enjoyed it, but tonight, not so much.
Firstly, very overpriced. $120 for 4 courses. My husband and I have done many tasting menus all over and this was by far the most expensive. The first two courses were ok, the second course which was oxtail ravioli was semi cold by the time it got to us. The main course was 3 tiny pieces of steak and an octopus leg also which was semi cold by the time it got to us. My dad couldn’t eat it because the steak was almost blue and none of us ate the octopus. We did tell the waiter but nothing was done. The issue with setting their price so high is the chef really has to make sure the food is 150% on par because anything less just comes across as bad...and that’s what happened.
It did appear that it was a very busy for them that night. It felt like our dinner was an inconvenience to the chef. In hindsight, we should have just forgone the tasting menu because it has really put a poor taste in our mouth with regards to Hockley. We are from the area and my husband and I actually had our wedding there. It feels like Hockley is trying to push out the locals and really cater to the elite of Toronto which is quite sad. Cabin has completely lost us as customers. The value just isn’t worth it when we can go to a restaurant in Toronto where the chef is world renowned and have a 6 course tasting menu for $85 instead of driving 15 mins for a 4 course sub par menu for $120.
Definitely would NOT recommend!
Raj was amazing. It was our first time there and I will 100% return. The food was perfection, actually having dreams about the torta! Cabin will certainly be in our dinner out rotation. And the chairs.....heavenly, so comfortable.
Server was great and made recommendations but the food recommended wasn't wonderful (for the price it should have been). Starters were the gnocco fritos, they were ok. Also were served to the complimentary bread was the best starter served fresh with the whipped butter. Had the wild boar risotto, was room temperature when I received it and was bland, boar wasnt my first choice but got it on recommendation. Probably would have enjoyed it alot more if it was hot. Husband had the Wellington county beef, he was satisfied.
Drink service was very slow. Food was fantastic though!!
Cozy and elegant! Everything we ordered was fantastic, just a little disappointed in the spaghettini with buffalo mozzarella
We eat out a lot and usually when we visit a place for a second time having enjoyed the first one can get disappointed on the second occasion but not with Cabin.
Valentines special of Seafood was fabulous .
We didn't order starter but they still gave us delicious taster sized salad and typifies the dining experience as going the extra .
Highly recommend the food and the restaurant - sit at the counter and watch the chefs under pressure very entertaining to see such a well oiled machine working .

Chef and the team did an outstanding job last minute accommodating my requests and made our experience very magical! Thank you for the room upgrade and the wine! Once again your food is excellent and very comparable to Canoe, Jacob & Co and George. Great taste with excellent presentation and delivered timely. The work you arranged for the engagement went flawlessly. Lindsay & I are super happy with everything from the private experience with the complementary wine to the deserts and the surprise. I highly recommend Cabin to others looking for a getaway or a conference. Our next step is to visit your guys in the summer. Keep up the great work!!
My husband and I had different entrees. David had the chicken and the presentation was beautiful but is was just roast chicken, nothing special. I ordered the risotto warning the waiter that it should be al dente...it was mush...disappointing food
We had an amazing time, got upgraded to the chiefs table because a big group came in. Chief and other cooks came to see how the food was. Food was excellent. Waiter was professional and very nice. Overall it made my wife’s birthday a very special one.
Mehhhh. Really liked the hotel...but if I went again (and I think we will), I would just eat in the regular restaurant. Lots of fancy menu verbiage...but didn't see it on the plate (felt it in the wallet though).
Excellent food. Reasonable value. Service is a little slow as there was only 2 servers.
We went for a romantic dinner and they had us stuffed in side by side with four other couples in a seating pattern more suited for a coffee shop, not a classy restaurant--we had no view whatsoever -- food was ok and our server was excellent but our hostess and the manager were oblivious--the couple beside us was annoying --they needed to get a room and their Tablet needed to be left in the hotel room--and because of the ridiculous seating arrangement we were forced to suffer them

My only comment is that I tried to book a table for 4 and the website said we could only eat at the hightop. So my husband and I went just the two of us only to be sat at an empty table for 4 and lots of empty tables.
Not easy to get a healthy meal here. The only option is the fish dinner, which is nouvelle cuisine and essentially snack-sized. Salads were equivalent to junk food - a kale caesar or iceberg lettuce. There's also a frisse with a small topping of trout that supposedly includes fennel, but it seems the chef forgot the fennel in our case. With just a heap of frisee and a tablespoon of trout as a garnish, it was largely devoid of both nutrition and value, If you like loading up on carcinogenic cured meats or burgers with sides of fries, you'll be fine. The cheeseboard is nice so you'll also be fine if you stick with that and a glass of wine as an appetizer, and then go have lunch or dinner elsewhere. The decor is nice. Service was passable. We had trouble flagging down our server more than once despite the tables being mosting empty. We ultimately placed our drink and dessert orders with another staff member who was passing by.
Excellent food and experience. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.

The entrance to Hockley Resort is amazing. At night the driveway and lighting makes one anxious to enter, sensing warmth and welcome. The Cabin Restaurant is very well laid out with private tables if desired.
The food is delicious. My only comment would be that I would have welcomed potato and a recognizable vegetable to go along with my delicious tenderloin steak. I don't know what the sauce for the steak was comprised of but there were very few if any mushrooms which had been hi-lighted in the description. Bottom line though, delicious food, with exceptional presentation.
The food is amazing, and the service is attentive. We were there on a Sunday, so it wasn't very busy.
This restaurant never disappoints for a romantic evening. The food is creative and tasty. I will continue to recommend this to friends and family.
We have dined at the resort a few times and enjoyed the experiences. The most recent dinner was to celebrate our daughter's 21st birthday which I mentionned (when asked) at the time of confirming the reservation directly with the front desk and then again when we arrived and were seated. Yet no acknowledgement of this while we dined. Which leads me to ask why would Hockley even inquire as to the event we were celebrating?
The restaurant had a very strong indoor pool smell as well.
Lastly, my choice of entry was the vegetable platter made daily. Could not eat it. It was "thrown" together. Not the quality expected from Hockley Resort. In summary, disappointed.
