   My husband and I went for dinner - the food was great. I had the Ratatouille with warm potato salad and it was perfect. Our server had a lovely French accent and was very attentive.

   The patio is gorgeous and the live music a plus. The service was good particularly considering the storm and having to bring in all the tables and chairs. The only slight disappointment was the menu. I was hoping it would have more french influence. Perhaps a crepe or souffle would be a nice addition.

    While the food (when we got it) was very good, the service was a real miss. The restaurant was not busy at all but the waiter seemed too busy to take our order, to bring the salads that were meant to come as part of our meals, to check to see whether the drink I requested was available, and to give us our cheque. A couple of times he leaned across the bar and shouted to us, interrupting our conversation, rather than walking over to our table to speak to us (NOT an effective way to invent us to order dessert). I like this little restaurant and the food is worth a drive but I don’t plan to go back as the service was so off-putting. It shouldn’t take over an hour to get some food to the table when the kitchen isn’t busy, or another half hour to get all the components of the plate to the table.

    It was pretty chaotic with the patio series and weather. Having to move inside was understandably disruptive. The service was slow. The preshow entertainment was really loud. Usually we love the food and some of it was very good, the ratatouille and frites were fine, but the steak was a disappointment...too much fat. We'll be back..I'm sure the kinks will get ironed out. Great idea!

    Did not know you had to go up to counter to order the food, as our drinks were taken and given to us at the table. The food was good but overpriced for what you got. The side salad was very basic; spinach with 1/4 tomato and vinaigrette dressing. The drinks were expensive too. Some menus had the side dishes on them and some did not. We weren’t given cutlery in the beginning. On a positive note, the patio is dog friendly and big. Nice atmosphere.

    Spent a lovely 2 - 1/4 hours enjoying a very leisurely dinner at an outside table in their delightful patio area; such a lovely atmosphere, especially on a nice summer evening (even got to enjoy some of the the live music concert that started up towards the end of our meal, which added to the evening's ambience!) Despite it being busy, the service - as usual - was excellent - friendly, and always helpful - and the various dishes arrived in good time. Even though the patio, in particular, filled up as the evening progressed, we were never hurried or pressured to finish eating and move along. French onion soup, to start, was very tasty and filling. Main courses - Steak Frites and Coq au Vin - nice size portions, very tasty, nicely presented, with delicious accompanying sides. And the dessert - peanut butter chocolate cheesecake - rich and very yummy! Had a nice bottle of white wine with dinner, and tea afterwards with the dessert. Love this restaurant and would highly recommend it.

    We went for the Sugar Shack dinner in the outside tent for a multicourse meal. It was a bit chilly out and we had to wait several courses in until the woodfire stoves that heated the tent were lit. After that, the ambience greatly improved. We were seated longtable style with other parties, and while we had originally seated ourselves at the end of one table, we moved in between two larger groups after the hostess strongly encouraged us to do so, to create a more authentic experience. We ended up having quite pleasant conversation with others during our meal, however I was not initially thrilled with the forced camaraderie. Service was adequate but not warm, and the dishes came out at a decent pace but slowed toward the end of the evening. Portions were generally quite small though the main course had a generous portion of meat. I found some of the flavours that were incorporated into the various dishes overpowered other elements, and some of the dishes were bland. For example, one of the first courses was a candied salmon dish, and I found the pea shoots overwhelmed the other delicate flavours. The pea soup had a nice punch of salt in my first bite, but after that, nary a seasoning to be found. Overall it was a pleasant enough experience, and a unique one! However given the price, I would have expected at least better crafted food, or a greater quantity of it, and slightly more pleasant service.

    A huge disappointment was food. We love French food and have experiences different levels of French cuisine in different parts of the world. For a Valentine's Day special menu , we expected something special (surprise!). However, according to Instagram photos and reviews, this cafe serves better food during regular hours. Out of 5-course meal, only main course and the last dessert were satisfactory. The first two courses were flavourless. The egg was overcooked, salad greens were not fresh, nuts were rancid. The rabbit for main course was well cooked but beans (most likely from the can) were bland. My wife had tartiflette which was very tasty. The second dessert was interesting and flavourful. I would order it again. Overall, the first three courses lacked even salt and pepper. A selection of wines was fair and coffee was good. We have mixed feelings about food at this place, so we cannot promise we would go back.

    This eatery seems to have the better staff working weekends. Staff were inattentive and the steak was super poor quality—served with cold fries. The waiter forgot steak knives as well. I would have highly recommended this eatery until my last experience. I’d be willing to give it one more chance on a weekend but avoid it during mid week.

    This place has served us well but this last visit was a challenge. A dog was allowed in the restaurant off leash which was disruptive because it wanted to say hi and jump on us. This didn’t seem to phase the staff (or dog owners). Our server was captivated by her phone and at one point vanished for so long we thought she left. We had to go to the kitchen to ask for her whereabouts. The food did not disappoint us and made the evening worthwhile. Have always recommended this place in the past and will continue to go. Am hoping management reads this and clarifies policy about pets in the restaurant.

    Loved the restaurant on previous occasions, this time disappointed. Ordered Moules which were lukewarm and served with weird sausage (previously with bacon), Ratatouille was ok - but nothing special and not worth the value, the steak was good though. Despite the Saturday they din't have creme brule...... I took my sons out to celebrate the special occasion, but left disappointed to get the dessert elsewhere.

    Was expecting table service and more charming ambience like our last visit (over 1 year ago). Reservation not needed. This was for a special birthday so wouldn't book here for that again. As a small neighbourhood bistro it's fine. We were disappointed with the meal. Came 40 minutes after we ordered and was not the quality we expected from our last visit. Chicken Provencale was chicken pieces in a diced tomato base (suspiciously similar to the canned product). Did not stay for dessert.

    I love this restaurant. It has such a great, vibrant atmosphere - and naturally the lovely French vibe - and is bathed in wonderful sunlight, even in the depths of winter. Food is delicious and there a nice variety, along with delicious desserts, and a good selection of beverages - alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Service is always good and very friendly, even when they are busy! They have a lovely patio area and the location of the restaurant is in a leafy, lovely vibrant area; nice for dining inside or outside. They even have a winter patio!

    I’m a frequent visitor of Café Bicyclette durong the week when the Cafés charm comes to life, but my evening experience was not as charming. Upon arriving the gentlemen server didn’t seem to know why we sat down (it’s not clear whether they do table service at night or counter service like during the day). He also rudely wondered what we wanted (drinks and a poutine and maybe some water please?) The female waitress however was very charming and she was busy tending to tables both indoor amd on the patio . The Café could freshen up its staff with service training, especially during the evening summer nights.

    Our server was very friendly. It took over 40 minutes for some of our food to arrive. Some of it still hadn’t arrived and we had been sitting at our table for 1 hour and 50 minutes, so we cancelled the rest of our order, asked for the bill.

    The setting was wonderful, food was delicious, servers were attentive, personable, and enthusiastic. We were here for the sugar shack meal which in itself was awesome. My one criticism would be that the event was supposed to start at 6pm so we arrived approximately 20 minutes early (5:40pm) but they waiting to start serving the meal until everyone had arrived and was seated with drinks. In theory this sounds reasonable and quite considerate but in practice it meant we sat until 7pm before we started to eat

    We've previously been to Café Bicyclette about 7 or 8 times for both lunch and dinner sittings and have always enjoyed the food and service but this time was different. I have to say the quality of food was poor. Also the main dish options for vegetarians was limited to about two dishes on the dinner menu. I realise Café Bicyclette is a french restaurant but in Edmonton one would think that the servers would be fluent in both languages. Oddly this time ordering was a bit of a chore due to language issues. They gave us the wrong salad to start. They offered to fix it but we were under time constraints so we just ate what they brought. The mix up with the salad was because the servers seemed confused with the English language. It might make it easier for both staff and customers if the menu was in both official languages. On to the food. My steak was under-cooked and of a very poor quality. My wife who is a vegetarian said her food was just OK but far from the quality we we expecting. All in all, our visit to Café Bicyclette was a disappointment this time. Unlikely we'll return.

    Seemed understaffed and the staff weren’t good at sharing duties. Our waiter was kind and funny though. Food was good but could have been hotter. Overall, a unique restaurant in Edmonton and I’d recommend it. And background music would have been a great addition.
