Took my daughter Chloé and Holly, one of her friends for Sunday Brunch.
Although my wife and I have been they’re many times - the Staff was phenomenal and the service as well as the good were impeccable.
Very enjoyable and absolutely already looking to going back ASAP.
Great service in a great restaurant. Everything we ordered was delicious, but the Baked Alaska was the showstopper!
The dessert menu is superb, the food is good, not the best french restaurant I've been to but a very good option.
Excellent food quality.
We had a special request, non alcoholic wine for my husband. We arranged this ahead of time. They did try to get some in, but what they found was sweet sparkling cider, which was not what we were looking for. When they realized this, they made some calls and went over to a local store to get what we wanted. Good recovery. We were kept very comfortable while we waited for it to arrive. Thanks to the staff!
Delightful, as usual. However, this time our assigned table was in a quite noisy area of the restaurant.
Poor service. Food was only ok. Expected much more from a Boulud restaurant.
Excellent service. Will Definitely return
Perfection as always. Enjoyed the Mother's Day prix fixe menu with my family. Salad, eggs with short rib, omelette, eggs florentine and desserts were all prepared and presented beautifully. Fantastic service provided by Mike.
Mother’s Day brunch
Had a lovely mother's day brunch. The restaurant was quite full and service took longer than expected. Other than that, all very good.
Normally I would give this restaurant 5/5 but most recently I was there for mother’s day brunch and felt the menu wasn’t as good as their regular offering. We were also rushed to leave for the next sitting when we weren’t late to begin with. I can understand from a business perspective that they need to keep tables moving, but for the prices they charge and the experience people are looking to have, it’s poor planning. A man told us we had to leave when we just started our dessert! Other than for a prefixed meal, I would 100% recommend Cafe Boulud! The food on their regular menu is fabulous (large variety), the service is impeccable and the ambiance is upbeat, stylish and inviting.
I was there the night before mother’s day and was unimpressed. The service was slow, the food was mediocre and when i made the reservation i said i was celebrating my anniversary which was not acknowledged throughout the evening at all. Overall it was a nice restaurant but i wouldn’t rush back.
The food was average. Steak tartare was flavoured very well but was uneven in size and several chunks were attached by stringy bits. Frites were so small and crisp they couldn’t be pierced with the fork. The bass was perfectly cooked with interesting vegetables, quite good. The spinach was, yes, very green, but just spinach, nothing interesting. Our waitress was excellent, helpful and attentive and knew the menu and ingredients. However, someone else came along and asked us to accept a complimentary dessert on the couch as our table was required for a waiting, annoyed party of three. We had also waited for our table when we arrived and had been in our seats for about ninety minutes. We were not the least bit interested in eating a dessert on the couch no matter who paid for it. So our wine was removed from the bill instead and we left. Our table was for two; the party of three were probably no less annoyed when they saw their table. We agreed that we would remember that dinner for a long time and not for the meal. And the place is so loud, after a while we just gave up trying to talk. A disappointment; I was really looking forward to it.
Food was excellent. Service was great. Only constructive feedback is that given that I had reserved weeks in advance, it would have been nicer to have been seated at a better table (ie one that wasn’t so close to the entrance). We will be back, thanks!
We celebrated a birthday. Always enjoy coming to this restaurant. Food, service, atmosphere was great!
I chose Cafe Boulud as it is one of the nicer brunch spots in Yorkville. We were celebrating my wife's birthday and wanted to head somewhere nicer. There is a set price menu for brunch, which we were unaware of. There is a $46 per person charge, and you receive 2 courses. The course sizes are large, so you definitely leave full.
We had the fruit plate, crepes, croque madame, and a chocolate dessert. All were phenomenal. The service was a bit shaky at the start, but our server was great by the end. He heard it was my wife's birthday, so had a birthday message and a candle added to the dessert, which was a great touch!
We'll be back to Cafe Boulud for sure!
Pre early mother s day celebration. Was here a couple of weeks ago and it was absolutely delicious that time. Today, i ordered exactly the same except no dessert - nicoise and fried chicken but it was very inconsistent with the last time. The cauliflower was three small little “tree” and the salad was a bit too wilted. Was going to take a friend for birthday next week but will change the restaurant as it was not as impressive as the first time. My friend also had the same as last time which was steak and eggs but the cut of this steak had too much sinewy within and 1/3 of the steak was too hard to chew. Otherwise he did not have other complains.
Inconsistent but this is the second time. If there is a third time - then I will post again and hopefully it will be better.
Today overall not impressive.
Very expensive for average food. I have had a better steak at the Keg best thing were the fries with the aioli.
It’s to bad for the Toronto flagship the hotel is very cold and uninviting.
The other thing I hated on my bill that they automatically charged me for a second bottle of Sparking water without asking if we required another bottle. Nice little easy $6.00 up charge that slips by you.
I often go here to eat breakfast. The service from the hostess desk was horrible and the oatmeal was good and didn’t bring all the food at once. Considering this is the Four Seasons I expected much better service and food.
Will be a while until I return.
Another great meal at Café Boulud. We always enjoy our meal here! Once again, did not disappoint. The service was good, but not exceptional as we have experienced in the past. Looking forward to our next visit.
I have been going here for years. The last time just last weekend. And what was turning out to be a total disaster was once again saved by management who really know what they are doing. Everyone makes mistakes but it’s how they are handled that makes all the difference to the dining experience. I will most certainly be back.
Great place for Breakfast/Brunch. Excellent service and friendly staff.
Great place to eat and enjoy. Great for the bon vivant.
My wife and I had a great time as always. We love it there. We have the whole duck and share it. It is a night out at a fancy restaurant.
Sunday Brunch ...Uninspired food and presentation
The service was quite slow - we had to wait over half an hour at each stage of the meal. However, the food made up for it more or less.
Good place for brunch.
I like Cafe Boulud and always have a good experience there. Service was friendly, although our waiter did not seem to be familiar with bar orders. White wine was assumed to be 'champagne' and I had to send back a cocktail after ordering a martini, which was not what I got. However, the mistake was acknowledged and quickly rectified in a pleasant and professional manner.
I do miss the chicken liver salad! I'd love to see it come back onto the menu.
Excellent meal and serving staff were perfectly attentive.
This is our second time at this restaurant and it’s the second time it has been amazing. Our server made us feel very welcome and interested in our anniversary. He could not have done more to make it a great experience; And combined with the exceptional food, it definitely made our night memorable.
The waiter was amazing. He made off the menu cocktails for us that were DELICIOUS. Both our meals were also delicious. It’s only a tad expensive but everything was done with excellence. We thought our portion size was small but we were full without having appetizers.
I like this place for the gluten-free options, that I can always get a reservation, and it is quiet inside. Perfect for a business breakfast.
The food is only mediocre though, and is extremely expensive for the quality and portions. I have no problem paying for delicious meals, but this place is nothing special. They don’t have any interesting ingredients or cooking styles, and any meal I have eaten there has been small and bland.
Love the vibe and great cooking.
Ate on a Tuesday night. Mine and my partner's food was too salty, service was a little slow, but acceptable, just not 5 star. For the price we paid, it wasn't worth it.
Service was inattentive. We were there early am for business breakfast, no one else there but two tables, should not have been an issue. Should not have to work so hard to get their attention for coffee refills, to order, to get coffee refills, to get check, etc etc.
Decor is great, its comfortable, and the food is great. They need to overhaul their service.
Very bad services
Service was on point. Food was amazing. Probably the best steak tartare we've experienced. The whole rotisserie duck meal was extraordinary. Would have loved to try several dessert options but we were so full and satisfied!
Food was very good but the noise level (from D-Bar below) was intolerable. Staff kindly moved us to the cafe's "private" dining room so we could hear each other -- but the "private" dining room has no doors that can be closed, so sound reduction was minimal.
Great all round
