    The atmosphere and hospitality were fantastic. Great place for a date or a work dinner. The food on the other hand, was good overall , but did not live up to the reputation of the restaurant (for me at least). We did the tasting menu and to me personally, almost every plate had one element that ruined it. For example the prawn starter was great, except there was a (I think caramelized) garnish that was too hard to bite through. In another dish the scallops were perfectly seared and had a wonderful gentle flavour but I found the chicken jus that went with the scallops did nothing to bring out their flavour, and instead downed it out for me. The beef tenderloin dish came with a wonderful dollop of celeriac puree that was amazing. The sweetness and airiness of the puree really complimented the beef however... it also came with a seared foie gras which was SO SALTY it stung the tongue a little. The dessert was very disappointing.

    The food was exquisite. Service was gracious and efficient, and there was a nice buzz in the dining room, people having fun and enjoying being out. Absolutely loved it.

    It was my wife's birthday and the team at Cafe Boulud went above and beyond to make our night memorable. The food was fantastic, but the staff were extraordinary. I can't wait to go back.

    Food and service good. I was embarrassed for the restaurant when the lobster entree came out though. Almost 60$ for two mouthfuls of lobster.

    Being on time we have been told to wait for a two groups in front of us even though restaurant was hardly occupied. Our mains came with 30-40 minutes wait!! Veal Rossini fois gras was extremely Salty, not eatable! Veal was tad less, seemed to be boiled not grilled:-( Sweet bread main was normal as usual. Overall very disappointing meal

    First time back since multiple enjoyable visits pre-pandemic. Unfortunately found the food disappointing, mainly for the fact the quality versus price is poor. For example, 4 minuscule prawns for $34. Chicken for 2 was a generous portion, but the roast was lacking flavour (how about some herbs) and crispiness. Deserts were actually the highlight. Wine list interesting but terribly overpriced, I suspect 3x plus markups. Overall, many better experiences in town.

    We had a delicious dinner (beef tartare, roast chicken for 2 and warm madeleines) and the service was lovely. A really special place for dinner.

    Very nice French Restaurant but they could simply the menu. Lunch menu - Duck and Lamb entrees are very heavy. More soups and salads would be nice.

    the food and ambience was as good as expected. the waitress was very friendly and since we were celebrating my granddaughter's birthday she went out of her way to make her feel special

    Came last night for my 50th Birthday was super excited to celebrate here. The food was so disappointing and we were dissatisfied. Ordered the roasted chicken and it was not cooked properly. The skin was still white on the chicken and was not cooked through. We left feeling hungry. I spent over $900 on my birthday dinner with my girlfriends and was just so disappointed. This place is one of my favourite restaurants in the city and I love the vibe there. The service was so slow. It took over an hour for us to get her dinner. I would like to speak with the manager and get reimbursed for my dinner. Please call me 416-720-4521

    Appetizers were small and underwhelming for the price but the duck made up for everything. I don’t even like duck (my husband got it) and it was amazing!! Drinks were nice and strong, server was absent most of the time.

    A superb experience! Dined with 6 for a birthday celebration. Seated in a suitable, well situated booth, incredibly attentive staff and service. Wine recommendations were bang on and most appreciated. Finally, the food. We ordered two seafood dishes, roast chicken for two and the tomahawk rib steak for two. All were excellent, especially the chicken, sea bass and steak. The lobster dish was delicious however a small amount of lobster for the price. That is the only (small) criticism, we would recommend Cafe Boulud for any celebratory dinner!

    It was a "special" fall dinner hosted by Chef Boulud and a couple of his Chef Associates. In general, it was very good. Good service and good food. We didn't always like the wine pairings that came with each dish though and the price was high considering. And there was some kind of event/party downstairs at D-bar and the noise interfered somewhat with the quiet enjoyment of the dinner which you would have expected given the event took place on a Sunday evening. But overall, a very good evening and my wife enjoyed herself, so that is what counts!

    This is the second time I have eaten here in two weeks, both times for lunch. Service was outstanding both times. Seated quickly, well attended, timely delivery of food. The food was terrible, very blah, no taste, really nothing special. Very disappointing. Too bad, because i would normally come back for the service, but food just not good.

    My wife and I enjoyed dinner here on a Saturday night and it was excellent. Service was fast, helpful, but not obtrusive, food was delectable, very enjoyable atmosphere. Would certainly come again and recommend to others!
