Cafe Carlo’s warm, comfortable atmosphere has been a staple in Winnipeg’s dining scene and continues to be considered among the city’s best restaurants since it was established in 1989. The atmosphere and the décor have evolved from the restaurant’s humble “rummage sale” chic beginnings. Great food and service. We had hearing aid users and the noise was high. Maybe request a quieter time or keep a window table for hearing aid as they would be quieter

Bumped our number up from 2 to 3 people last minute and they accomodated us without concern, eventhough restaurant was booked solid. Gave us a time limit and didn't mention it until we were ready to pay. Lovely, uninterrupted evening out with good food, great wine and excellent service.

Cafe Carlo has been our got to restaurant in Winnipeg since it first opened. Even through Covid we could count on delicious being in everything they do. Last night was a date night for my wife and I and for the first time in awhile I didn’t recognize the kitchen staff. That didn’t change the outcome or the experience. Being able to show my appreciation to the kitchen through the restaurant is an excellent touch and mutually rewarding. I would recommend it anyone!

I love Cafe Carlo. Great restaurant - a creative spin on Italian food. Great atmosphere, very vibrant, always busy, but no issues at all with sound. I love the food. Their bruschetta appetizer is a meal in itself..plan to eat a piece or two and take the rest home!

This is one of my favorite restaurants, we often come here for our birthday celebrations and we always get the Fantasy 4 course meal, great value, portion size and flavors in the right order for spicy but not over load on the spice. Great services, great food, intimate space.

My fiancé and I came to cafe Carlo for our annual birthday dinner and had a wonderful experience . We mentioned we were in a bit of a time crunch and the servers and kitchen got our meals out so quickly and the food was not compromised at all. absolutely delicious . Not once did our water get low before being filled and the staff all were so kind and we’re all helping us out . We love the fried chicken , fette Chile and tried the seafood cannelloni and it was great! Do miss the seafood penne though. Highly recommend cafe Carlo to everyone , we never have a bad experience ! Plus the birthday cake amazing !!

Delicious food as usual. The Fantasy is my go to as it’s a complete tasty meal from appetizer to dessert. I ordered mild this time as last time it was a little too spicy for my liking. My husband and I shared this meal along with the calamari and the mushroom bisque. It was the perfect amount for us. Every bite was exceptional. Our server Bonnie was fantastic. I would go so far as saying she is the best server I have had at any restaurant. She is just attentive enough and has a heart warming demeanour and bright smile. It’s obvious she enjoys her job. Thanks for a great experience Bonnie!

As always, the place was amazing. However, for the first time we ran across one dish that was uninspiring - the Vong. It lacked “something”, was a rather plain tasting meal. I guess that one would be good for someone who preferred that. Everything else I’ve had on the menu over the years has been amazing, as was my Fett Chile last night! Thank you!

Ambience was welcoming and uplifting with great music. Food was delicious - loved my Crème Carmel for dessert. Trevor was the most outstanding server I have ever encountered. He really listens to his customers and nothing is too much trouble and he looks at you when he talks to you.
