Cafe il Nido
We found the service and Food was great! Great wine list.
Our server had a very unwelcoming demeanor. She barely smiled and did not appear to be friendly. While the service speed was adequate and the food was decent, I would hesitate to return to this restaurant.
Although the menu wasn't extensive, there was something more than satisfying for all of us. The food was excellent and the service top notch. It helped that we got in a little earlier than most, but I think it would have been that good at anytime. We will certainly go back!
Been there once before. This time on the patio. Great spot. out our food picked our wine and enjoFiguredyed appies/salad. Server arrives with ravioli for my companion and a beautiful, juicy, perfectly done stiletto for me. Unfortunately, my friend ordered risotto. So off go both plates. We eat bread and olive oil and fantastic warm olives and chat on quiet patio. Risotto takes about 20 minutes and should be served immediately upon preparation. It was. But that beautiful portion of beef looked like it had sat on the griddle the whole time. There was no moist pink center just a grey stiff slab. My guest was delighted with the risotto. I was not going to dampen her enjoyment or risk losing both plates for another 20 minutes. Washed it down with a Cabernet. If you take two plates return with two plates, at their peak. Should have cooked a proper steak.
The outdoor patio is a lovely dining oasis in the heart of the city. Has been a favourite for many years.
never knew this place was there...I will definitely be back. great patio...may be my new summer time go to!
I had a wonderful dinner al fresco on the patio, always consistent, flavoursome food, fantastic and gracious service, everything combined makes for a truly italian experience.
A long time favourite that continues to earn repeat business. Highly recommended.
The server we had could be more friendly and welcoming. Food was very flavourful and the restaurant was very quiet -- definitely a hidden gem.
Took my 28-year old godson for dinner on a pretty quiet Wednesday night. Franco is an excellent host. Very enjoyable meal.
Wonderful lunch on the most secluded patio in the city. Food and service was awesome as usual.
Such a fantastic dinner. The food was lovely, the wait staff was very attentive and the restaurant was beautiful. Will definitely be coming here again.
We go to this restaurant regularly. This time it was very good, the service was prompt and pleasant, an enjoyable evening. Specials change every week; you can call to find out what they are.
Very good evening with excellent food. We went early so there was no one else there. Loved it!
I had such a great experience here! The food was amazing, the service was great and we really enjoyed everything about the experience. We will definitely be back.
Excellent Italian food in a quaint downtown location.
The Osobuco was superb: tender and cooked to perfection. The Rigatoni dish was also excellent: wonderful sausage, mushrooms, and a very light sauce.
The passion fruit Panama cotta finished a great meal.
Always consistent, new menu with lots of gluten free options, new wine and cocktail list, reasonable prices and non intrusive service.
Awkward....! And super expensive...! .
I had a business friend in town and I recommended that we go to Café Il Nido. It was a very good choice since he thoroughly enjoyed it and we had a terrific evening
Usually I come to Il Nido for dinner but this time I had a business lunch and I was in shock that it was nit busy at all and I do not understand why, I have been to Il Nido countless times and is always a pleasure, the food is delicious and well portioned, the service is great, so european and unpretentious, nice background music that makes a lovely atmosphere to carry a business or personal conversation.
Not many food options
I had a casual lunch at the restaurant with colleagues on November 9, 2017. The food was good. However, the server was the rudest I have ever encountered. Besides the hostile attitude, when she learnt that we were not going to order wine or dessert/coffee, she scoffed at us. That was absurd. Not recommended.
Foods and service are always excellent here. A quiet place for a nice dinner!
This was a friend get together we love good food and always want to try a new restaurant that we have not been before. We highly recommend it portions are not huge and sides not much with your entree but sooooo good and filling.
Server feels unapproachable and unfriendly. I ordered the pan seared swordfish and some parts are pink, still not fully cooked. The alfredo was good, nice and creamy though.
Impeccable service and incredible food.
We celebrated our 12th wedding anniversary here. On the tecommendation of a friend. The food was very good - especially the fried mushroom appetiser and my large pork chop. The waiter suggested a wine that we enjoyed with the meal, a Chianti. They also gave us a lovely surprise, a Tiramisu, beautifully presented with a candle for celebration. Real candles in the candle holders at all the tables too.
It had been awhile since had been here but really enjoyed the quiet atmosphere and service. Enjoyed a nice meal and some good wine for a good price. Enjoyed the evening. Thanks!
I was a little disappointed by the food, to be honest. We paid $6 for olive oil and bread, but the bread was nothing special and the sea salt added to the olive oil meant we couldn't choose to not go salty. My swordfish was interesting but I wouldn't order it again; my partner's pasta sauce was not quite to her taste either. The panama cotta dessert was lovely, however.
I've been dining at Cafe Il Nido for over 25 years. Franco is an amazing host and the cuisine is fabulous. The atmoshere inside is cozy and outside on the patio in the summer is wonderful. I'd recommend Cafe Il Nido for business lunches, birthday celebrations and get together with freinds. You won't be disappointed....great ambience, great food and great suervice.
The food was good, the service was fine and the ambiance was very nice. However, I find it very insulting when a restaurant like this feels it necessary to add an 18% tip automatically to the bill on a table for 2. What are they afraid of - that we won't leave a tip at all?
Café il Nido has a cozy outdoor patio that was perfect for a Friday night dinner in summer. The service was very attentive. They will leave you alone for as long as you like, which is good if you are trying to have a leisurely dinner. The food was excellent too. I had the swordfish ceviche for an appetizer, and it was outstanding. I definitely would go back there again.
We really enjoyed this restaurant and recommend it without reservation. Food was very good.
I I had a wonderful dinner at Cafe Il Nido, they always deliver simple and delicious flavours with a no pretentious service, and overall a good value.
Food quality was average, waiter tried to upsell at every course, very annoying and we could not wait to get away from the waiter. Pushy ! And we had to pay for bread which was absurd. Overpriced for food quality and experience.
Very nice place to have a meal where you can chat and not have to yell to be heard. THe new waiter is a bit over the top. He tries too hard and then it appears somewhat insulting. I do appreciate that they will customize my meal. It is very consistent.
Amazing personalized service and great food. Thanks to Franco for a memorable experience!
The Team at Il Nido are attentive, the atmosphere is quiet and intimate, the menu is thoughtful and diverse, and food is very good value.
Dinner food was excellent. Friendly and accommodating staff.
