A late Mother’s Day dinner . The food & wine was excellent . The noise level was so loud we could not carry on a conversation with the person next to us. The tables are too close together. I would only go there in the future during the week and at 5 pm. After 6 on the weekend is too loud.
Amazing wait staff and great service. Food recommendations were great and food quality was excellent ( especially Fish)
We enjoyed a day late Mother’s Day celebration and I must say it was a great call and absolutely perfect! Fresh bread, fresh tomatoes on dinner salad, chicken Vesuvio was made to perfection! We all enjoyed our meals. My mom enjoyed the lamb shanks, with seasoned mash potatoes and fresh chopped mixed veggies. I would definitely recommend Cafe Lucci’s I look forward to going back!
Cafe Lucci is always an excellent choice. Food is great - and service excellent. Been coming to CL for over a decade and consider it one of the best restaurants in Glenview. A favorite for special occasions - just went to celebrate Mother’s Day.
This is the best restaurant in the area. There's no reason to go to Chicago when we have this quality in Glenview. Their restaurant in Deerfield is also excellent and I'm sure the new location in Lincoln Park is the same quality.
Food used to be fantastic. It is now average at best. Portions used to be generous; now they are much smaller. Soup or salad used to be included; now everything is ala carte. Crowded and noisy. I won’t be going back. Seems like there are plenty other people to take my place. Lots of other better Italian restaurants in the area.
Seating was uncomfortable and tight. Food was mediocre. Will not be coming back.
This place is fine - it was my 2nd visit / there are better choices. Waiter was very SLOW - slow to cone back and take drink order and then to actually bring the wine - took forever. Very noisy...I feel indifference about returning.
The food and service is good but once you pay the bill, the manager and waiter stare at you until you leave.
Great food and Great service looking forward to returning.
One of our favorite places to relax and rewind. We feel like family and are never rushed.
Had cream of mushroom soup to start. Outstanding. Veal chop parmagiana is huge. Need to take half home. Wife's halibut was delicious. Great service and great food.
Cafe Lucci is a true gem. Consistently delicious food prepared with great care. Extraordinary wine list. Perfection from appetizers to dessert. Our faves are cioppino and branzino. Friendly and attentive service.
We always feel welcomed at Lucci’s and the food and drinks never disappoint!
We were having a birthday celebration and the service was superb. The food was wonderful and menus varied for all tastes.
Very friendly server. Everything was excellent.
Excellent food and service that was a perfect balance of attentive, informative, friendly and not intrusive. We will definitely be going back!
Yum! The food is excellent and the people there are so nice!
Never disappointed here. Service and food are always top notch. Our small group enjoyed a variety including daily special of sea bass, Vitello Rusticano, gnocchi, sirloin tip with pasta, and a chicken entree. Our humorous waiter was very accurate in assuring us that one appetizer order of calamari would satisfy a table of five. Service at bar prior to dinner was friendly and attentive. If we lived closer than eighty minutes away, we would frequent Cafe Lucci on a very regular basis.
My guests very much enjoyed their meals and the entire experience. Thank you
Great food ...great service !!!!
Easter dinner was a very nice affair. We have been here for many holiday meals and always enjoy great service, excellent food and a wonderful time. "Sam" was our waiter and was attentive to our needs and choices. I had the octopus appetizer and whitefish as my entree, which was delicious, perfectly cook, served with mini-heirloom tomatoes and fresh basil. Sister-in-law had the lobster ravioli, which she has had before and is always happy with her choice because the ravioli is so tender and delicious. Brother-in-law had delicious veal scampi and thoroughly enjoyed his dinner. Desserts are not to be missed - sticky bread pudding with ice cream, chocolate shell profiteroles and caramel-salted gelato. Looking forward to our next visit.
I loved the food and the ambiance. My waiter was amazing! We had to wait 30mins after I booked a reservation but it was totally worth the wait!
The food is really good at Café Lucci. We started with the fried calamari, which was excellent, and followed with pasta dishes that were well sized and had tangy, full bodied sauces. Sam our waiter was warm and friendly, and we always felt well attended without being bothered. We had a wonderful time.
Fantastic food, wonderful service. A great go-to restaurant. You will always be treated like family and served great food here.
Food was outstanding! Service was great!!! Everything was fantastic, but it's noisy so maybe not the best place for conversational dinners?
Regardless, we love it! :)
This is a great place for excellent Italian cuisine, well prepared and served in style. Comfortable, white table cloth ambiance with friendly, attentive service. Delicious selection of specials and a terrific base menu. Great selection of pasta, seafood and meat with appetizers not usually found on everyday Italian food menus. Enjoy!
Food was delicious. I had the veal medallions with shrimp scampi and the arugula salad.
Our waiter was just ok, didn’t seem particularly interested in being attentive.
Still a charming atmosphere.
All dishes (pasta, Caesar salad, veal pancetta) perfectly prepared; pasta al dente, veal pounded very thin with a smooth, nicely flavored sauce. Key lime pie was delist and enough for two. Glasses of wine were on the pricey side ($22 for one of two chardonnays offered).
You don't have to go to downtown to enjoy excellent Italian food. In northern suburbs of Chicago, Café Lucci is the place you should try. Their Linquini con Vongole is always a good choice but their presentation of this dish is very unique. I totally recommend this restaurant.
I hadn't been to Café Lucci in probably 20 years and it didn't disappoint me. From the bar to the dining room, the staff couldn't have been nicer and the service was excellent. I could have just eaten the roasted garlic and bread that was put on the table, but wanted to leave room for my meal of caesar salad and skirt steak, which was sooo good! I definitely won't wait another 20 years to go back!
Our dinner was outstanding! Our service from Lindsay, was impeccable. She was helpful, informative, attentive, didn’t rush us and provided us with the attention we needed when we needed it. The food was incredible we ate the sea bass and one of their homemade noodles. I would highly recommend coming here for any special occasion as both Lindsay and the ambience and the management and all the wait staff made it very special.
A fantastic meal; tasty pasta and delicious desserts. The food and service were both great. Lindsay was patient, polite, informed, and she facilitated a wonderful meal for our table. Hope to return soon...I want to try steak or chicken next time.
every thing we asked for was an additional charge....the deal breaker was the additional charge to swap spaghetti instead of mostichilli. The noise was beyond loud. we couldn't wait to leave. although the food and service was very good I doubt we will return.
Have always loved going to this restaurant. Food is always terrific and so is service.
Great little place food excellent service awesome. Would highly recommend
This was the third time I’ve enjoyed Cafe Lucci. It has become my daughters’ and my date night go-to when they are on break from school. I have also been able to enjoy this place with a date, and it was lovely. It’s a little expensive, but it’s worth it.
We just started going back to Café Lucci after a long period of time. We like to sit in an area that is quieter and they manage to always find us a table towards the back. The food is very good. The bread served as you are seated is good - it is served with both a small serving of a garlic puree and some marinated vegetables. Our waiter was very good and knowledgeable about the food and its preparation. I had the pasta with rapini and sausage - I loved it - it was my second time ordering it. My husband and friend both had the eggplant parm - it was very light (eggplant is not breaded) and it is served with a side of pasta. Our other friend had the sea bass with herbs (a special that night) - he also really enjoyed it. We quite enjoyed ourselves. We will be back.
Very good old school italian restaurant. Very good food, just not in a "new swanky place" if that even matters.
It is a VERY noisy venue, but the food it excellent as is the service
