Last day before the April lockdown. Tables well spaced out, felt very clean and safe.
Nice place to go.
Excellent meal.
Cesar salad and oysters to start. Burger and seafood pasta as our mains.
Food temperature was food. Service was the right pace.
Only complaint was that we wish they would have had draft on tap. Make a note that the bar is under Reno’s.
I was displeased with food quality and value. As well no draught beer, poor selection of bottled beer. Not a place I will book again
Steve, Thank you for your review - I apologize about our beer selection. With the crippling lockdowns constantly looming we are forced to be careful with the amount of inventory we bring in. We hope to have beer on tap for you soon. Alex Kastner General Manager
We asked for a bread basket and were told that all we could have was some toast. When it came it was 2 pieces of dried toast. No butter or hummus was served. It was so disappointing.
The rest of the food was tasty and desserts were great.
One of our favourite go-to spots. We enjoyed Beef Tartare and Buratta with prosciutto for apps which were both delicious. The Burratta was a decent size and would have been ideal for sharing though as opposed to an individual one.
We had the salmon and sausage pizza as main and neither disappointed! I even took some of the pizza home and warmed it in our Breville oven and it was just as good as at the restaurant.
For dessert we shared the coconut pannacotta. Although not surprised by out of the ordinary presentation, we were a bit skeptical (my husband always questions flowers in food no matter how edible they are). We were extremely happy with the choice however and enjoyed every bite of the delicious but light dessert!
The we were torn because we understand the concept of doing a few things really well as opposed to a lot of things but we wish there would have been just a couple more items to choose from. However, that doesnt mean we won't be back!
Food was great. Only complaint was being seated at a table so close to the fireplace. The two of us that sat with our backs to the fire were not very comfortable. However, loved everything else and will be back.
This is hands down the best place in Cambridge to eat.
Food was amazing, outstanding service. Amazing views!
Great views. Food and service was very good. Quiet place
everything was great. Food, fireplace, comfort.
Just the background music was a little annoying. I would like less energetic.
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to visit our favorite place again.
We had such a lovely outing at the Mill. The food was delicious, the atmosphere is beautiful and our server was so nice to work with. We will definitely visit again.
I have never had s disappointing meal at The Mill. Quality cuisine.
Menu was smaller, likely due to time restrictions, but what was there was fantastic variety of options.
Didn't feel rushed at all, I thought it might feel too fast being limited to 90min.
Son’s 30th birthday.
Thrilled with the table location and our server was spectacular
Only small complaint was one of our 4 meals were over cooked and cold but it was a fantastic cut of steak not worth complaining about
Very subpar meal the menu needs upgrading steak was very bland and needs improvement for the cost overall experience was very let down will not return nice view and location that’s about it.
Aaron, We are sorry to hear that you found your experience at the Cambridge Mill worth only one star. Our beef is locally sourced and dry-aged in house so I am disappointed to read that you found it bland. Did you bring this to the attention of your server? I am sorry to see that you were disappointed in service and ambience too - is there something missing from your review regarding this? Would be happy to hear from you. We always enjoy this venue. The view of the Grand River complements the food and service.
A true gem! Good food, fantastic staff and the beautiful location makes Cambridge Mill a must-go! Can’t wait to visit again and spend some time on their patio :)
Always a favourite. Lovely setting, efficient but subtle service. Short but comprehensive menu.
Thanks was a enjoyable evening with the warm sun sparkling off the river very relaxing
For $250 for two people on my wife’s birthday the steak was chewie, and unevenly cooked, and the Caesar salad was brown on the edges.
We came here since in the past we always had a positive experience but this was underwhelming
I really liked this place and would be coming again with my bf.
We had a very pleasant brunch at Cambridge Mill, I definitely recommend.
It was a date brunch with my husband & it totally met our expectations, with our window seat over looking the Grand River. We would definitely return for dinner. Service and food were great. Highly recommended with great rustic & warm decor and building designs.
We had a brunch there. Not many people but all seated next to each other so no privacy at all for couples and too noisy. Food is average, steak was rubber, not tender. However salmon was great. The service was fine but i believed that I paid tips twice because I guess the tips was included already. The price for food including tax was different from the price on the machine. And nobody mentioned it. A bit frustrating.
Upd. So I’ve got a general answer to my review from restaurant. I sent them email with my question regarding bill but never received a response.
What a lovely place to celebrate our anniversary! The food was impeccable and the service was fantastic! We will definitely be back to celebrate another wonderful moment in our lives.
No room for snobbery here. What a fantastic meal!! Everything was absolutely 5 star from the ambiance to the service and...oh yes!...the food...perfect. Highly recommend.
Food is good service is good everything is perfect for my family.
Fantastic as always.
Excellent food, very professional team, and always attentive .
Birthday. Great food and service.
Beautiful building with exceptional character. Limited menu but all delicious.
Such a wonderful experience for a special occasion. Service and food were exceptional! Highly recommend!
Went for brunch Saturday afternoon. It was awesome, the server was wonderful. Yes the staff was so welcoming.
Met with a FOH manager, is getting a promotion. Well deserved. Can’t wait to go back.
Excellent overall experience and great view from our table
Wonderful view and friendly service. The food was good, but menu slightly limited. Oyster appetizer was very good. Was disappointed to wait almost 15 minutes for the table reservation, and be reminded when I sat down about the time limit per seating. Was seated near a family with two kids who were loud and which took away from the experience slightly. Air circulation made it chilly as well.
We would go back, though, and give it another chance.
Staff were very kind. My girlfriend ordered the chicken and it was some of the best I have ever had. I ordered steak which was pretty good but I've had better for a similar price. The place is beautiful. Mentioned it was her birthday on open table and the saw it and brought us an amazing deconstructed cheesecake for her desert.
I am a wedding planner and very familiar with all of the Pearl Group Properties. They are all so very beautiful and I always recommend them. Spencers, Ancaster Mill, Elora Mill, and Cambridge Mill. I was looking for a place that I would feel safe in for an indoor dining experience with my family and made a reservation for the Cambridge Mill.
We were in the lower room which has very open doors/windows and allowed us to dine feeling that there was plenty of ventilation - which is important to us. Other diners were spaced very far from us. Servers were extremely attentive and all safety protocols were beautifully attended to.
We felt completely safe and really enjoyed our first indoor dining experience in many months.
The only (minor) disappointment was not being seated in the upper dining room which offers the most spectacular waterfall /grand river views - it really is a magnificent dining room and we will try to get one of those special tables on a return visit. ( management - please let us know how to book one of these!!!)
The menu is a bit smaller but there were lots of wonderful items on it and everything was beautifully presented and extremely delicious. Loved the Buffalo Cauliflower and our Oysters. - those were my personal favourites.
Great Joy Cambridge Mill - can't wait to see you again soon or visit one of your sister properties.
Awesome restaurant, view is breathtaking and food & staff is amazing
Great food, a beautiful place to go for dinner. It’s a little more money then your average place but the great food is well worth it!
